Former flight attendant here, Noel. I just wanted to say that despite your apparent exhaustion from nonstop traveling, I always appreciate you making the conscious effort to always give the crews and agents a warm greeting. If everyone who flew were half as gracious as you are, the industry’s quality of life would increase exponentially. Thanks for the great videos!

Southwest is one of my favorite airline despite being lowcost. Quick travel tip for anyone flying in to LaGuardia going to Manhattan: Take the Q70 bus (FREE) from the airport to 61st & Woodside. Go to the LIRR ticket area and catch the rail to New York Penn (34th street, west side) or Grand Central Madison (42-48 streets, east side). $5 City Ticket (non-rush hours). 11-16 minutes later and there you are!! Don't take a taxi unless you really have no other choice. Take Lyft if you have to as it's a flat rate. Those green/yellow meter guys will take you the longest way through as much traffic as possible to keep the meter ranking up $$$
@ScootsMcPoot
2 ай бұрын
Good advice for chicago too. Ask locals, new York and chicago have a vast transport system. You can get anywhere cheap. Taxis are for downtown and short trips. They are all trying to rip you off. They even manipulate the meter to move from acceleration alone. They will sit on the breaks at lights and Rev at like 3krpm to add $ to meter at lights. That's if they actually stop at a light. When I lived in wrigleyville I got hit by 2 taxis in a month. Not bad hits. But they are wild
Really lovely to a) see people who are delighted to randomly bump into you at airports b) see your reciprocated delight at them. Makes the world seem smaller and warmer. Pretty magic.

This is the first video of yours I've seen (I think) and I must say, it's refreshing and pleasant to see so many people (civilians and flight crew) that follow and recognize you. Good on you for being a cool dude!
I appreciate your commitment to the low cost experience as you sailed by the window exit row seat on SWA with the double leg room. The greatest advantage of SW is the flexibility of scheduling which still is better than most others. Congratulations on your circumnavigation!
For me personally this was absolutely the best video for aviation that exists. For the majority of people this is how we fly. Seeing you go around the world this way, just might make some people's dreams come true. I love business class and first. But it's often out of reach without miles or a lucky departure date. I applaud you making this video. I thank you for this. No one really does economy flying. You are diversifying. Also the tours of planes no longer in service, give me personally the most well rounded view of aviation.
As a Southwest Flight Attendant who loves to your channel, thanks for the shout out aboard our plane. I am so Glad the crew on the last leg took care of you with a congratulatory beverage. I was watching you board the last leg, thinking" if that was my working flight, I would comp you one or two" and the crew read my mind. I am glad all the folks saw you and recognized you. Since I’ve flown virgin Australia domestically a lot I can say that Jetstar international flights are about the same quality as virgin Australia domestic. I was about to mention your bravery & stamina for doing this, then you mentioned cost to coast on greyhound 😂🤦♀️ You deserve a medal 🥇
Thanks for that, I admire your patience, and you saved me ever needing to do that
love how you went from 'not bad for a low cost airline' to 'loads of leg room' on the southwest max 8
The Scoot $15 “food” and landing 😆 Loved the addition of the black light! Southwest FAs are usually pretty funny 😆
Hi Noel, I randomly stumbled upon your channel and have watched a couple of videos. Hats off to you for the endurance feat of travelling so far in such a short time. I have now subscribed.

Thank you! Welcome aboard!
Noel, thank you for another amazing report about your trip around the world! 😀👍 You're just a maniac traveler😜 Clear skies and soft landings!👍
You are a legend for all the suffering you chooses to go through. That 11 hour on Scoot looked absolutely miserable-no headrest on seat and no entertainment screen sweet jesus 😂
That's insane! *I'm* exhausted just thinking about it! Thanks for bringing us along!
Brilliant mate!! Well done!! Looks rightfully exhausting but I love traveling and would love to do something like this 👏 👊
Those low cost airline flights were a real blast from the past. My Dad worked as a gate/ticket/fueling agent for Northwest for almost 30 years. The 70's was our family's time for international travel, and those cramped seats and packed planes were the only way to fly (for us). The food was great, though. On one overseas flight home, me, my little brother, and our parents had four separate non-revenue seats in different parts of the plane. They'd take turns checking on us kids.🛫
Hooray - more of these types of videos of low-cost airline endurance please, since these are what most of us fly on- great video though
Congratulations!🎉 As a former flight attendant for 33 years, I definitely circumnavigated our planet countless times, serving countless numbers of passengers from all over our planet. And I loved my job and met countless friendly people from all over the planet. But I could never survive an 80hrs. trip around the world, mostly squeezed in low-cost carriers' economy class. Probably you had to put me in a medical intensive care unit in Singapore 😂 or Melbourne, at the latest. I can still remember the mid 1990's, when a around-the-world ticket cost the same, but on full service airlines.

@@corykong6510 I was a flight attendant with Lufthansa German Airlines from 1982 until my early retirement in 2015. 33 years as a full-time crew, and not a single severe accident.
FYI there are lots of things that glow under blacklight - try it on tonic water! Some bleaches, washing powders, etc also glow. It's a very poor indicator.

Fascinating! I am excited for your accomplishment!!😊
Great show Noel! I’m sure this was a lot harder at 6’4” than it would be for me at 5’3”! 😂😂. Thank you for biting the bullet
You may go through physical hell on your journeys but these videos are so relaxing to watch. You're always taking the viewer on a new adventure and gives me so much inspiration for where to travel next. All the very best for your upcoming travels!

Enduring suffering is Noel's raison d'etre. It allows him to have his usual moan. Sad Sack personified.
41:08 wow, even the cabin crew were impressed with your challenge, you deserve this moment. :)
There is a Southwest pilot that has a KZread channel and he frequently flies the PHX-HNL route. His channel is flyingwithbigern. I thought of him when I saw your path. I also grew up in Phoenix and Sky Harbor was my home airport for half my life. Love SWA, too! Really enjoyed the marathon you just went on! Cheers!
I flew from Tampa to Vegas on Frontier and the leg room was so bad I was in agony. It took me a day to recover from being so sore. The flight back I upgraded to safety aisle and it was fine.
Great video, as always. Highlight was Southwests safety announcement from Hawaii. I think a lot of airlines forgot that flying can be fun and safe. Good to see that still exists in places.
In my opinion, Scoot long-haul is not for everyone, you have to be very flexible and be willing to deal with long periods of discomfort in an effort to save hundreds on airfare. Personally I also believe Scoot would be more suitable for short/medium-haul high revenue regional flights
I've thought about doing something like this, but have so far chickened out. 'Adventure' is a massive euphemism. I once did CCU-DAC-BOM-KHI-TAS-SVO-LED-LHR on Soviet era Aeroflot. It took 42 hours and I would NOT wish to repeat it, adventure or not. I congratulate you!

Vueling gets terrible reviews but I found both ground and airport staff very gracious and accommodating
I always enjoy looking out the window whenever I fly over the Malay Peninsula and look at Penang Island and you can see the beautiful bridge linking to the mainland.
I did a similar RTW trip many years ago. I traveled on Pan Am... on all B747s. The total cost was $1199. I could have done it for less, $999 - but without a confirmed seat. Plenty of leg room, a big comfortable seat and oh... all meals, beverages and snacks were included in that fare. For comparison, the only in-flight amenity that I didn’t have back then was the variety of individual seat-back entertainment. Obviously air travel has changed. I truly miss those days.... and Pan Am too!!!
I usually can’t last an entire vlog video, they aren’t usually my style of videos to watch, but yours has been very entertaining, great video!

@@noelphilips Well I have always kind of had a interest in planes, but in the past few years, it has grown on me. I like it more and more each day!
My lord. Not since Lindbergh crossing the Atlantic has there been such a dramatic first in aviation. You really put yourself through it for us Noel!
I'm amazed that Jetstar didn't take up the full 80Hrs just to get you out of Australia. Jetstar can be a good airline IF and only IF you get them on a good day. There are time where Jetstar can be a real pain to fly with delays, cancellations and even some nasty staff but I got to admit I've been very lucky with them and had some good flights and good staff. It's only recently they have decided to pull their socks up and make things better so hopefully they do. Our new budget airline Bonza airlines is already giving Jetstar a thrashing.
Just came back from holiday, your videos are keeping me well entertained on my post holiday blues. 😂 Top bloke and subscribed 👍
Really enjoyed this, Noel. How do you put together an itinerary like that? What tools do you use? How do you workout which intermediate airports will work? I imagine that must have taken more than 80 hours in itself!

I start with Google Flights & look for places I haven't been to. I also search for airlines & planes I haven't flown on yet. I then put together a 2 or 3 week filming trip that I can hit as many of those as I can. It does take a lot of time to put them together.
Been a subscriber for around 2 years! I hope this channel gets to a million subscribers by the end of the year and thank you Noel for all your hard work and great content!!

for more visibility he should make a joint video with some other aviation geek, like Sam Chui. Artists do that to sell more records 😊
Congratulations, Noel! I'm sure your sunny disposition masks all the worries of making it, but got did it!! It was a very fun video too!
That was Great footage sorry you had the difficulty with that leg. You did highlight one thing necessary with flying today, you must be calm, cool & collected when airlines mess your schedule up. 42:08

I feel like US airlines are much more generous with their “free gifts” than European or Asian airlines… that was really nice of them at the end to do that for you.

Yes, but also keep in mind that although Southwest is the original US low cost carrier they're not following the same business model as other LCCs. The experience would be drastically different on Frontier or Spirit for example.

@@COASTER1921 100% I think fly most major US carriers frequently and I find Southwest is much closer to one of the legacies nowadays than to Spirit or Frontier. Of course price is market dependent but in my hometown they're often more expensive than legacies too. I often call them the Legacy LCC because their strategy has become kind of a mash up even though they were the original.
I have followed you for a while and I'm watching a lot of your videos right now because I have an 8 hour flight coming up to Boston and I'm terrified of flying. Watching your vids makes me feel more relaxed about the whole thing.
