    A pretty odd thing to say about one of the most dangerous animals in the world. You can easily end up gored on one of those huge horns. They can shake a 500 pound lion to death, a 160 pound human has absolutely no hope. That second one expressed her feelings about the whole episode there at the end.

    I've trimmed human nails and got paid for it. I'm a former cosmetologist. I originally found this channel looking for pedicures. I'm retired now. At one times I was going to get back into hair and nails, but I have too many health problems, so retirement made more sense. Actually, people who go get pedicures rarely have nasty feet. People who pay attention to their feet and pay money to have it done aren't nasty. I think bovine pedicures are interesting.

    You thought that Scotland would import bison?

  • @VictoriaEMeredith

    @VictoriaEMeredith

    Жыл бұрын

    @@keepdancingmariaTo be fair, in the US and Canada, bison ARE buffalo. If you search Google for “buffalo,” the first result is a picture of an American bison. We tend to use terms like “European buffalo” or “water buffalo” or “Indian buffalo” for the other specific animals. It doesn’t make us stupid that our automatic mind picture is of an enormous humped American bison. It’s just that all our imagery for “buffalo” (whether on coins, football team helmets, or city logos) is the American bison. Plus, it’s not like these Asian water buffalo are native to Scotland. How is importing bison any weirder? There are even some actual farms in Scotland that raise American bison.

  • @keepdancingmaria

    @keepdancingmaria

    Жыл бұрын

    @@VictoriaEMeredith Better to say that Bison are known as buffalo,rather than that they ARE buffalo. Yes, I know about that. I was only wondering if jackieclark had thought about the fact this is in Scotland, and about the logistics of importing a very difficult undomesticated species (from whom no riches can be made) so very far. Or if the fact that this is in Scotland, and bison wouldn't be an economically viable choice for Scottish farms... didn't even enter in. It is a calm question about assumption versus analysis. That's all. Curiosity.

    @@stdesyBecause they are already in the U.S....not imported. Hmm... have you ever seen the infrastructure required on a 🦬 ranch? It's massively engineered, very expensive, and high maintenance. There are three different animals called "buffalo": 1) the American bison, 2) the Asian water buffalo that ploughs rice fields in Asia (cows and horses would sink into the mud), and gives milk for the real mozzarella, and 3) the African buffalo that has never been tamed and is dangerous.

    @@QuimBeelivingstone I may be deceived by German, but the English Wikipedia calls both subspecies bisons: the Plains bison (Bison bison bison) and the wood bison (Bison bison athabascae). Language usage may vary; after all, the European bison is a forest animal and may lend its name to the wood bison more easily. But what is called buffalo in the US is the same species as the wood bison, only a different subspecies.

    Hey I just want to say how much I appreciate your videos. I am an esthetician in Canada so I give pedicures on “people” feet. I don’t live on a farm nor have I ever had any kind of farm animal. What I love so much about your videos is how excited u get when you see the difference in your “client’s” feet! I feel that same excitement that I made somebody feel good by having their nails trimmed and excess callous removed. It feels so good to make someone else or animal feel good!lol I have always loved the large farm animals so thank you for sharing your job and your “clients” with all of us💕

    The calves are absolutely gorgeous! And of course, we want a grand tour! It's a different place with different beasties, so we've got to see it all! My son got married within the view of those bridges last year (just had their 1st anniversary this month). Instead of the planned party they'd arranged and had to postpone because of the rona in '20, they told us they were "eloping" so they could get the wedding over and done with and we had a huge party this summer of friends and family, some of whom had travelled from as far as America, in their original choice of the Gower Peninsula (talk about stunningly beautiful!) as they live near there. They had the most fun they could have imagined, their hosts at the B&B were charming, and their local photographer went above and beyond. As he had nothing more to do that afternoon, they took him to the pub! Guess where some pics came from lol! I'm always going to have a huge soft spot for that area, and the local people who treated them like old friends, even though we weren't there (we all gave our biggest blessings for them to do this, btw. They got a break in lockdown and to try to arrange everything at the last minute would have been nigh on impossible).

    It's not just standard cattle that can be farmed. You might think other animals are buffalo, bison, elk, deer, moose, antelope, reindeer (caribou), etc. can be farmed. Some animals like moose is not common to farm, some places in the world are trying their hand at it. Reindeer farming is slowly becoming a bigger industry. Much likes cow, buffalo, or bison milk; you can use the reindeer milk for various things. Reindeer meat is high in protein and vitamins, and low in fat. Some people compare its nutritional value to fish. Advancements are being made in farming various animals outside of cattle. (Yes, I did a quick search).

    @@TheMrCC21 Yep! There's a bison ranch north of my hometown and an elk ranch northwest of that. Their meat is *delicious,* if rather dry because of the lower fat content. They also don't need as many specialized facilities because they're actually *designed* for this climate. Their meat is a *lot* more expensive, though, because of the relatively low supply.
