If you know a good Tig welder they may be able to fix that case but would require splitting the motor but if your going that far may Aswel replace the whole case. I have had a few mates that have had them and lack of maintenance and many hours they can throw a rod and when they do they go straight through the crank case. If your going that far with pulling it apart I'd replace the crank and throw a high comp piston in it. But great score, over here in Australia there fetching $6000+ even in rough condition

I gotta give this young man a thumbs up on every one of his videos simply because he is out there doing it, learning along the way and making a little $$ too. But I must say one mans mint condition is another mans clapped out pile. Very few bikes or atvs on this channel have truly been mint condition and ran as such. No Hate or trolling just a little constructive criticism from one atv/bike lover mechanic to another.

That's honestly why I watch his channel tho... He buys and fixes stuff that most people would have little interest in bothering with. Then he shows you himself fixing it on a shoestring budget and getting some decent work and results in the process. Anything can be fixed, and I love seeing someone out there dedicated to do it with bikes and atvs.

I had a 06 and my rod bearings went down. They were known for bottom end failure. Yamaha updated the oil pump in the bottom end in 2007 and up on the YFZ. You can get a oil pump conversion kit cheap that goes in the right side crank case. I would really recommend it.

I have gone to his house to work on it a few times as far as the carburetor goes. The thing is absolutely ridiculous. He's had a lot of fool willers and that one by far was the fastest. It would walk the dog mess out of every other Fuller and dirt bike he had. Has no hesitation on take. The thing is an absolute beast. An absolute wheelie machine.

In my knowledge with 450 quads. I have a kfx450r. And when my valve seals went bad. It smoked a little. As I was making my way back to my house it was so bad that it was bogging under maybe 1/4-1/2 throttle. I’ve found it easiest to get a top end kit with the valve seals. Take the head off. And change the valve seals on a bench. Based on the way that quad moved around lol I don’t think rings are bad. Can always compression test.

Crankcases are machined at the factory as a pair so should be replaced as a pair. If you strip the engine a good welder could probably fix that damage. With spark issues I'd start at the plug and work back. The cdi should be the last port of call. Could be the coil breaking down once hot. Do the cheap stuff first.

You can try some lucas&stop leak mixed in with crankcase oil for the pistion oil ring seals.,or you can spray WD-40 into your fuel tank. WD-40 will free up anything that is stuck.,or even some PB-Blaster spray will to.

Try bump starting it and see if it starts, put it in neutral with the clutch fully in, run it up the street real fast, drop it in first while you’re moving and then let go of the clutch and pump the throttle

you should try it with a twist throttle, i got an 04 with a twisty. I'll setup up my cam on the chest rig and give her a rip. The fan only runs for a few seconds and you have to be bloody reddening the thing for it to kick in.
