I fell in love with an old motor bike - THE WARHORSE II - bringing my Honda Africa Twin home!

Following my 6000km mission to the Arctic Circle, I simply can't leave Europe without the Warhorse, so I decide to ride it another 3000km to London and put her on a ship to Australia!
Two ferries, four countries, one decent crash and a some true aussie bush mechanics, this epic motorcycle adventure takes me through the sand tracks of the Netherlands and the slippery meandering trails through the hills of Yorkshire.
My goal was to make it to London to deliver my Honda XRV750 Africa Twin to an Australian based company - www.bikesabroad.com.au/ who will ship the old Warhorse back to Australia!

Once again, really appreciate all the feedback and comments everyone. Back in Australia now and missing the Warhorse dearly. Hopefully it won't be too long ... I did, however, grab a fresh 22 twin-cylinder to keep me occupied until then. New film from Down Under coming soon ✌️

YouTubing looks so crazy. Do a video about how you setup a video camera to record your ride on the sand track and happen to capture your fall coming around the corner. Seriously I wonder how many people consider the craziness of that sequence.

The Warhorse videos make me smile. As a retired racer, rider, motorcycle shop owner I can relate to slowing down in my later years to enjoy my riding now that I have nothing to prove. As a senior rider I would love to see more of that type of content. Us boomers don't all have the funds to by GS Beemers or KTMs. When there are fewer years ahead then are behind us it brings a new appreciation to why we ride to begin with. Thanks

Dear Adam, Thank you for this shared journey, I’m going to just put it out there and say by minute 32 you had me at an emotional point that only a man and motorcycle on an adventure can feel. So much emotion that caused my eyes to water. I haven’t shed a tear in man years, but this took me right back to my own euro bike trip back in 2009. I spent 3 months (10,000kms) solo travelling with my motorcycle across the Austrian, Swiss and Italian alps into France and across the Pyrenees mountains of Spain all the way to the Western most point of Spain, Fisterra. It has been far too long since then to have had the same sort of journey, I miss it terribly! Thank you for this video and I am this close to getting myself a new ADV bike to find my next adventure, it is such a shame when life gets in the way of honest true adventure. I must get back there, back to man and machine and adventure! Thank you. - Peter from Melbourne P.S What an awesome adventure you and the Warhorse had look forward to the following adventures to come!

It’s the personal relationship with your bike that rings authentic connection that you just cannot get with loaner bikes. It’s the commitment of time, effort and your own funds that elevates the story to one that I want to eagerly wait for the next installment of. 👍👍👍

Delightful stuff Riemann. You always deliver mate. I was pleased to observe how your riding style "changed" a bit when riding that muddy trail section in the UK. Seeing that little extra bit of caution when the stakes were higher. It can be deceiving for us recreational adventure riders to always watch yourself, Davis, or Birch ride ADV bikes for promotional content with such aggression and precision. Those videos can make one wonder "why doesn't my riding look like that." A good reminder that when it's your bike, your time, and your dime, the priorities shift a bit.

Absolutely awesome stuff. Love to see you go through everything together with the warhorse. The bond between man and machine, reminds me of "Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance". Even-though binning it was sad to see, have to admit that scar looks pretty damn cool. Very Mad Max, suits an aussie bike. By the way, in case you were wondering about all the upside down flags and the red handkerchiefs in NL, those are in support of the farmers. There's a bit of a debacle going on where the government wants to forcibly close farms/farmers because of their nitrogen and CO2 output. Farmers are often a proud bunch and are not having it, and people do these two things as a show of support for them.

I love KZread and watch little else - channels like this are an inspiration and the stories are real. Having tried and failed to document and film my own adventures I am full of admiration for content makers like “Aussie” and his “Warhorse” - skill in filming, patience to get off bike and set up camera ride by and then go back and get camera, the amazing drone shots and of course all the editing which is harder than it looks. Furthermore, I am enjoying the bike maintenance tips and wish I had known these 10-15 years ago when I was doing my big round the world bike trips. The triple clamp and chain tensioning were great - but the fork adjustment and air filter tips, silicon spray etc were invaluable and will save many riders breaking down in BFNW. Many thanks 🙏

Dude, this is EPIC! I can't explain how much I loved this. I stand by every message you made. You managed to perfectly capture the essence of what an adventure is. At least for me. The simplicity. Don't need a expensive ADV bike for it. The attitude. Keeping your cool when going gets tough, but never giving up. Enjoying the moment. Can't wait for your next one. Mine too, while I am at it😅

There is a specific soul connection that you develop with an old Africa Twin...it's way more different than any other bike that I have ridden. It's like my soul companion with a specific function, giving me such a taste of freedom and unity that you managed to catch and present in your videos. Thank you very much and looking forward for the next adventures of the Warhorse.

What an absolutely awesome video. I had an Africa Twin, an RD07 and she took me to places that at the time I'd never have imagined going. I genuinely loved that bike. Get the Warhorse restored buddy, I for one will be watching!

Such amazing video ! No doubt that you have pleasure on the Warhorse. I've got an rd04 too, and each time I ride it, it brings me pleasure instead the bike ages 30 years old. I hope I could do a trip with it like you did. Thanks for sharing your adventures. Cheers and if you ride in the Pyrenean Mountains in France, I really hope to see you and ride with you. Don't worry, I'm not afraid to put dirt on my bike 😄😄😉✌

Both wheels were already over the bank. Once I got my leg out she slid to the bottom. I rode along the ditch a few metres to try and taper out of it but just got wheelspin to a dead stop every time. I struggled for quite a while before I realised I should probably switch the Gopro on and capture the shit time I was having.

Recently discovered your channel, and loving it! Gravitated towards your content because of the Africa Twin, I love my RD07. Done plenty of greenlaning with it, and got the chance to do some rallies round the uk earlier this year! loved every minute of it. I need to do quite a lot of work on her, but I cant face not having it there to ride! I know the gutting feeling of breaking your pride and joy, that's what holds me back on mine somewhat, but I've decided that every battlescar is simply a reminder of the journey me and my bike have been on. Every scratch, dent and crack tells its own story, and makes me think of the fun we've had together!
