I escaped from Jehovah's Witnesses

In this episode, Stephan Menzel, shares his story of growing up in the restrictive environment of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Stephan discusses the challenges, restrictions, and eventual liberation he experienced after breaking away from the group.
He sheds light on the recruitment process and expectations within Jehovah’s Witnesses, offering valuable insights into the tactics used by such groups to attract and retain members. He provides guidance on what to look out for and how to protect oneself from falling prey to cult-like organizations.
This episode is a must-listen for those seeking to educate themselves on the signs of manipulation and coercion within closed religious communities.

Great interview! Was born into it, myself and was 12 in 1975, when the end didn’t come. They tried to blame the rank and file for that date being “the end” when it was from the very top, and they never apologized for the fallout that happened! They did this, then blamed the rank and file soon after each failed date! Then it switched to being “imminent or at any time, and they constantly try to make you think it’s coming at any point, so you feel a sense of dread and exhaustion rotating to anxiety, especially during turmoil in the world, or like bad weather! So essentially everyone just on a hamster wheel, and many take antidepressants because of the continual worrying! The church services are a lot about rules and expectations that you will follow, and obey the leaders (because supposedly they are “God’s Spokesmen”) They rule you with guilt and fear, and the women are treated like children practically! One advice I would say, never put your complete trust in men.

Eventually after I called Law Enforcement and talking to NY Bethel did this SOB got his face and address on the web as the pervert the " holy spirit" appointed. The nepotism and favoritism in a lack of leadership Elder body was a rude awakening for me and protecting my own Kids.

I wasn't born into the JW religion. But I've been around them since I was small. My Gram and aunt were JWs. I got baptized at 21, married at 23, disfellowshipped at 27, divorced at 29. So basically my 20's were squandered on this religion. Getting kicked out (for a lie told about me) was actually a good thing. I'll never go groveling back to them.

Thought it was an answer to my prayer! 🟦

Well, it finally started. The elders are trying to gilt trip me I to being the spiritual JW head of my household over my wife, who is a devoted JW drone. She asked me yesterday when was I going to join her at the hall. She employed two elders to con me with gilt and pressure in leadership at home. As if I wasn't the head of my house by default. This is adding pressure on me to the point that I'm probably going to react in a way that will not get their desired outcome, but merely the opposite. I'm waiting for them to try to convince her that I need to be replaced for an obedient drone.

Take the lead at home with Bible only, no watchtower materials, you ARE the priest of your home. Tell the elders to stop meddling in your marriage. Some of the most judgemental persons I've encountered, who always obeyed the rules, through whose mouths never did alcohol enter, or naughty words emerge, were Jehovah's Witnesses!

"If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, for this reason the world hates you." - John 15:18,19. So we expect that there will be attacks on the true worshipers of Jehovah that include false accusations, half-truths, imprisonment, torture and execution (Luke 21:12. Matthew 5:11,12; 24:9). But we also expect that those attacks will end. God's word assures us this: "you who suffer tribulation will be given relief along with us at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with his powerful angels in a flaming fire, as he brings vengeance on those who do not know God and those who do not obey the good news about our Lord Jesus. These very ones will undergo the judicial punishment of everlasting destruction from before the Lord and from the glory of his strength." - 2Thessalonians 1:7-9 At present, we have to endure all kinds of attacks that we are facing, we are determined to remain strong in serving Jehovah faithfully and preaching the message of the Kingdom. knowing that "when we become approved we will receive the crown of life."-James. 1:12. Matthew 24:9,13
