“I Enjoyed Being A TV Licence Enforcement Officer” - I’m calling 🐂💩

There’s a story doing the rounds in the local papers of a girl called Amy who says she enjoyed being a tv licence enforcement officer. I’m not convinced personally

30 sold at 30 minutes each sale = 15 hours. So if she started knocking doors at 7 am then she was still knocking at 10pm. Without a single break and no travel time at all between houses. I call total bollox

If she hits a block of apartments or better yet student acomodation. 5 mins to fill in the form with direct debit info. If she hit a student halls of residence on move in day the parents would be signing up so their little angel doesn't get into trouble. I can see 30 in one day being totally possible.

I saw with my own eyes a car full of off-duty wardens in their uniforms stalking in wait on a young mother on my street. The young mother said they wanted to force her into sexual slavery and that as a mum she couldn’t leave her kids alone in the car nor in her flat on the fourth floor and they’d always get to her car before she could return with a permit. I didn’t believe her but she pointed out a single female warden across the road and so i crossed over and asked if she was the only warden on duty. She told me she was. There’s been fewer of these foreigners tax “collecting” on my street and I don’t know if it was because she caused a fuss or it was Brexit. The Stasi state’s hard working and experienced, New Liarbar’s mercenaries came here and did that.

I live in a village out in the country and I've had three visits by goons in the last three years. Fortunately I have a locked gate across my drive so I've never had any contact with them. Soon as they find they can't get access to my property they turn round and scuttle off sharpish. Good to watch.

He had no issue inviting the goon in and showed him the living room . The goon said it was fine and Alan said he could check upstairs if he wanted. The goon replied "We are NOT allowed to go upstairs " . Alan left it at that and the goon told him he would not be scheduled for another visit for 2 years but advised my friend to get a licence IF he did decide to get a tv .

This sounds like a story pulled off social media, this person could be anyone making it all up. In the early 70's i was a young TV repair tech doing repairs in peoples homes. Most we very pleaseant, but you did get a few that were not happy that their TV had stopped working in the middle of a football match and could be very aggresive, dealing with them was an art the took time to perfect. So i agree that allowing a young girl to enter homes on her own seems far fetched.

I also told my story of shagging a TV Licence woman (before Capita)......and anyone can call bullshit on that one. But e en more important than this bullshit woman is the fact that (like you said) They do not visit 'out of town locations' They do not visit 'citadels'. guarded apartments whatever you want to call them Posh places....they don't even go onto Posh estates.....because as you are smart enough to know.....a posh estate is poor pickings because most people are smart enough to tell them to feck off. I know people who live down lanes, on farms etc, they have no licences and have never been visited??? Again as you say, too much money to drive out there to be told 'feck off or I'll set the dogs on yer". As a blokey who grew up poor and from a poor family, I remember being told to hide behind the sofa because the TV licence people were about.....I now know that it is all based on education...my parents just did not know the rules..or they could have told them to feck off.

If you don't know tehm (yes, even the police), refuse to open the door, and ensure the door is locked and deadbolted. We even had, and still do, have a security bar, to prevent entry. It became the standard that if you had a TV licence, it also covered radio! I suspect that radio licences were scrapped when tranistor radios became the norm in the 1960s? Loving your job is something that I can very much empathise with, ‎However, ‎The sort of person who might be attracted to the job of TV licence enforcer ‎Is perhaps not the sort of person I would wish to associate with.

Compare this woman's story to the kind of traumas that teachers go through for instance, the lack of respect the lack of senior management assistance, and the physical violence they have to deal with, as well as the possibility they could be murdered, or take their own life thanks to despicable OFSTED.. Many teachers have quit in the face of such treatment, maybe that is why there is an acute shortage right now, so the question is, if this woman and others in the enforcement service are all open to the kind of danger she talks about, why is there not a shortage of such people, dicing with death daily, or even driven to suicide, just to 'enforce' people to pay for a licence, whether it is needed or not. The whole story stinks of BS and propaganda.

If she was a 16 year old straight out of school how did she have a car she could use for work or even a driving licence? I have finally cancelled my TV licence after watching your channel for a year or so. After my Virgin Media box broke I couldn't be bothered to go through the hassle of getting a technician in to fix it, so I called Virgin Media and cancelled my TV service saving myself £52 a month, my TV licence had only a month left on it so I just stopped the direct debt and let it end, I did contact TV Licencing to tell them I no longer need a licence and so far I've not heard anything from them but if I do, thanks to you, I know what to do! Thank you for your informative videos! I now only watch KZread and Amazon Prime Video (nothing live of course) and I'm better off for it too! I was introduced to your channel by my dad who also doesn't need a TV Licence.

The licence, originally a radio licence, was introduced in November 1923 using powers under the Wireless Telegraphy Act 1904, and cost 10 shillings per annum. The licence was extended to televisions at a cost of £2 in June 1946. The radio part was abolished in February 1971.

Hi Jon. While living in Southampton I got a knock from a licence agent who was a woman. A fairly small one at that. I remained friendly and polite throughout the encounter. She asked if I had a license. I explained that I do not anwer questions from strangers. She asked if I have a TV. I explained how that sort of question sounds like she is casing my place for a robbery and would absolutly not be answering such questions. She then demnded my name. I explained that i was not required to give my name to her. She demanded it again, I explained again and said I wanted the converstation to end. She said fine and added spitefully that she could look it up on the electoral register, I grinned ear to ear at her at her and said "OK you do that" knowing I was not on it. My point is that they do employ women, some small ones however they do still try to intimidate.

The thing to remember is anyone knocking at your door and is usually after something, with the financial crisis and the like there’s more of them than a while ago. Remember to keep the chain on the door, it’s not hard to fit one and they are useful to have. Always ask the person who they are, they might try to ask your name or try to get information from you. If they won’t identify themselves then be careful as there’s something they are hiding . A genuine caller will have a valid ID card be happy to say what company or organisation they are from, charity knockers are very good at what they do and rarely stay if you say “no thankyou”. The way a person presents themself is a give away, so if a person with a clipboard asks you 20 questions you can be fairly sure they are not from a charity to help the needy. Tv licence folk like to pretend they are important, they have to sell licenses and their intimidation or entrapment is what becomes a tool of the trade. Let them do the talking, it might appear to be rude to interrupt them. You can wait for them to finish, when they ask who you are you can say “ no thankyou”. They will have wasted their time for nothing. It’s their choice to do the job so leave them outside to enjoy whatever the weather offers. They need you more than you need them, let them walk away. Close the door and make a drink, there’s nothing to worry about.
