I saw a mom sing this song to her newborn baby online and have been singing it to Macy ever since. I brought it to the band to see if it would be a good fit and Emmett arranged it into the sweetest lullaby.
Enjoy this song made famous by Aerosmith... "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" ~Ellen

►LYRICS - I Don't Want to Miss a Thing
I could stay awake just to hear you breathing
Watch you smile while you are sleeping
While you're far away and dreaming
I could spend my life in this sweet surrender
I could stay lost in this moment forever
Where every moment spent with you is a moment I treasure
I don't wanna close my eyes
I don't wanna to fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, baby
And I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream would never do
I'd still miss you, baby
And I don't wanna miss a thing
Lying close to you, feeling your heart beating
And I wonder what you're dreaming
Wonder if it's me you're seeing
Then I kiss your eyes
And thank God we're together
'Cause I just wanna stay with you in this moment forever
Forever and ever
I don't wanna close my eyes
I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, baby
And I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you, baby
And I don't wanna miss a thing
I don't wanna miss one smile
I don't wanna miss one kiss
Well, I just wanna be with you
Right here with you, just like this
I just wanna hold you close
I feel your heart so close to mine
And just stay here in this moment
For all the rest of time, yeah, yeah
I don't wanna close my eyes
I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, baby
And I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream would never do
I'd still miss you, baby
And I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream would never do
I'd still miss you, baby
And I don't wanna miss a thing

Good idea to already bring Macy into contact with those strings, you can't start young enough.😂😉 She seems to have a strong preference for the guitar though, "What do we have here? The only way I can describe what the Petersens do with a song is equate it to if you had a house that already looked very good and is in very good shape and it doesn't appear it could be improved upon, and they renovate it and make it even better. (I'm not trying to take away from the original). Ellen sounds terrific here as usual.

This was a high school song for my wife and me and something we sang to all four of our kiddos when they were little too. We recently watched Armageddon with our eldest (now 14) and she remarked, "How could they take a lullaby and make it THAT kind of love song?" : )

What a lovely song. That fiddle solo was really something! Thanks for this rendition. A suggestion for another time: “Who Will Sing For Me” is a tremendously beautiful song, I especially love the recording of Earl Scruggs playing it with Doc Watson and Ricky Skaggs. I would be delighted to see a version from The Petersens.

What to say...one of the sweetest songs ever written, especially dear to the hearts of my generation, now played in the sweetest way possible and brought to new heights. I already wanted to say that I love you all, boys and girls, but then the easter egg came...and put the biggest smile on my face. My children are in their middle teens now, and I already fondly think about when they were so tender and innocent. And the way she touched the strings of both mandolin and guitar spells a lot about the fact that Music is powerful in this One :-). Love from Italy and God bless you all, especially the little angel.
