    Thank you for bringing out the vlog, and so fast aswell👍. I was in Amsterdam, you guys must have been cooking on that stage, Matt had red cheeks after like 2 songs. It was so unreal to see you guys perform live after being a patreon for 3,5 years. Your live performance is top notch, I have seen others praise your shows so highly, and I completely understand why. Please do come back for another European tour.

    Gosh, sorry you guys were dropped at the wrong address in London (0:56). Good to know there are still neighbourly people who checked you were okay. For anyone visiting London soon… in the UK most roads are named by borough councils, who don’t usually give the same name to more than one road in their area. But there are 32 borough areas in London, so some road names appear multiple times in the London A-Z map. We normally use the postcode together with the building's street number as it’s unique to each destination, and can be programmed into an Uber’s satnav or into Google Maps. Otherwise, Hackney (Black) cabs may be more reliable, as the drivers will recognise from memory road names that are duplicated.

  • @zizhiqu

    @zizhiqu

    The Geoguessr in me had to work out what went wrong. They were dropped at 2 The Avenue, Wembley instead of 2 The Avenue, Ealing. I wonder if the cab driver tried to confirm and said “Wembley?” and as our gals might have been familiar with that word in association with London, they just said “Yep!” I can easily imagine doing the same under the influence of jet lag.

    I am so happy you vlogged this tour, Julianne! ☺ I love to see the behind-the-scenes of the band and the different places you guys go. You make it seem like we are all with you- and you keep it real, too... It is impossible not to laugh at some point at your silly travel struggles and your car-ride pastimes! While I am sad there was no banjo for the Europeans this time, I am sure they were not left unimpressed. I was in Cincinnati when Julianne was away at college, and while I missed her mandolin and voice, the rest of the band held the fort and did not leave room for disappointment. And if a band one member short can sound that good, then I am dying to hear them as a complete unit, which I am sure is in the plans for the Europeans after the baby arrives and Ellen and Michael are settled into a routine. Also... Katie, BIG Congratulations on your first single! I have listened to it over and over for the past couple of weeks. As absurd as this may seem, in the couple of weeks before it hit KZread, I had been sitting at the piano, notebook in hand, trying to convey some of the exact same thoughts you did in Sherwood, but I was getting no where. Robin Hood has always been one of my favorite stories, if not my very favorite, and I was feeling fed up with the world, longing for the chivalry, devotion, and loyalty portrayed in the story and in similar stories of old. Yet I was convinced I was crazy for feeling that way. It seemed ridiculous for me, a young woman. to still be trying to live in a fairy tale, ya know? I prayed for the Lord to give me words that helped to express what was on my mind, and he did... Through you! Seriously, I got SO excited when I listened to it the first time because I had found what I was searching for. Thank you so much for sharing your gifts and talents Katie. God is using them in his own mysterious and wonderful ways. I cannot express that enough, even if it starts to sound redundant, because I see it! Alright! Well, I have gone on too long, and no one wants to here me jabber any longer! 🤪Glad you are back home safe, and I will be anticipating the rest of this vlog series! -Emma

    Fun fact, England is a seafaring nation and most sailors are right handed. In the most basic boat, the one man rowboat with 2 oars, steering inputs are mostly from the right side oar and you always try to keep the steering side in deeper water and the shore (port) on the left because it tends to be more shallow. “Starboard”(right) is a shortened sailor-speak form of “steering side”. That’s why the English can’t imagine why we Americans steer our cars from the port side.

    I'm not a coffee drinker, but I know someone who could definitely use a car which featured that coffee icon!

    Traveling with your family, Emmett and Randy seems like it would be a lot of fun. Too bad Ellen couldn't make the trip this year. Just think, next year she'll be bringing her baby along for the trip! If anything, these videos document life doesn't always go as smoothly as the camera makes it seem! Hey Katie, how did you like driving on the wrong side of the road in England? Those British round abouts are something else when you're going clockwise with an inside and outside lane! Was it an automatic or a standard transmission? Almost all of the cars in the UK are standard which makes it even more of a challenge shifting with your left hand!

    When in London always get a cab not an Uber. You want a man with "The Knowledge" your mix up would not have happened! Pay once cry once!
