I went to the drugstore and saw a cane lying in the driveway. I picked it up and placed it next to the door of the drugstore. As I was leaving with my purchase I heard a lady crying to the checkout girl that she had lost her cane. I went out and got the cane and gave it too her. The smile on her face just made my day. I left with a glow in my heart. Touching humanity is so important.

What an uplifting video to watch today. I'm at a different point in my life as well. So many days I have missed my dog. She was 8 yrs. old when we got her Rose, a sweet Beagle. Rose died 6 yrs later & I was lost. It's sweet that you have a Doggy "Hairdresser"! You have given us so much great advice through the years. Ever since I first read your Life story, it's been a treat seeing you. Now, I'll prepare to see friends & watch the sunrise. Thank you! ❤

What a good reminder to always feel free to reevaluate where we are in life! Lately I have often found myself saying “ I don’t want to do this anymore!” and feeling completely overwhelmed, when in reality, I don’t even know what it is that I don’t want to do. (Except not feel overwhelmed). Starting today, I’m going to get up and watch the sunrise and pray about what I DO want to do. Sandra, you are a beautiful blessing, and thanks for sharing.

Another inspirational video. I’m certainly in a different place in my life, especially the last year or so. My husband is slipping ever further into dementia. I’m losing him even though he is still here physically. The caregiving is taking a toll on me. The stress and worry is overwhelming at times. And like you, when you cared for Arthur, I’m sleep deprived. I wish I could take the time to sit and enjoy the sunrise and sunset, but I cannot leave home alone anymore. I just want you to know that you are an inspiration for me and I look forward to watching you every Tuesday ❤️

I've been struggling with sleep pretty badly. I think I am naturally a night owl. I think I've always been this way even when I was a child. I am trying to become a morning person so I can be more productive during the day. One reason I think I'm a night owl is because I feel like I get so much done in the quiet at night. I think I need to change my mindset that I can have quiet time in the early morning too. Thanks for sharing your tips and tricks.

My daughter always was a night person as well. Then she became a flight attendant and had to adjust her sleep schedule to whatever work she had to do that day or that week. Now she is able to adjust according to whatever she has to do during the day. I think it is possible to rearrange your internal clock.

Sandra, thank you for reminding us that life is a continuum and we need to resist the temptation to get stuck in any one phase. I had an interesting conversation at a followup appointment with my dentist last week. She said she had taken my advice. I was perplexed, because I hand out advice so freely that I can't remember it myself. LOL She said I told her that I do at least one thing every day that gives me a spark of joy. It may be something small like taking a book to read at my favorite cozy cafe, a cup of coffee and conversation with the staff and fairly often with other customers too. And, it may be something big. Big or small, it doesn't matter. She is 30 something with small children and she told me that she was so busy that she only had time to get her joy from her children. But after considering what I told her, she decided to add a little extra spark of joy to her life too and she thanked me for sharing with her. Another lesson... The importance of 'passing it on'. (Side Note - Sandra, when I saw you getting you hair cut in the intro, I thought, "Oh, No!" I love your semi-wild curly hair. But when I saw the results, I was relieved. It looks wonderful!!!

Absolutely my dear we all have to make adjustments, your life situation has changed. I am with you I use to (pre-covid) use the drive through at Starbucks for a highly sweatened cup of frapachino (the biggest size) and drink it all afternoon at work. Well after the world shutdown (during covid) I do not need one everyday now. I'm sure a lot less sugar in my daily life and I don't want to drink all of that sugar (I am saving myself about $45 a week) now. A daily decision that I no longer think "what a nice treat" I do not need all that sugar in my body 5 days a week. Just one change that was needed, I look back and cannot believe all the calories I was drinking everyday.

Thank you for taking the time to redo the video. It is a much needed and appreciated message. My sister has always struggled to get a good night's sleep. I immediately sent her the Huberman video. Hopefully it will help her as much as it has helped you! You look so refreshed and rested...so happy for you. Please don't feel that you need to apologize for your previous video. It was what you needed to do at THAT TIME. We are all allowed to change our minds when it means a happier, healthier life for us. Keep up the good work. Wishing you health and happiness. Hugs from Texas. ❤

You are such a beautiful lady - I'm glad you have readjusted your priorities. I think I am of probably a similar age to you but I feel the changes I made through the pandemic set me free. I just love clipping away at my hair [ I never liked the salon experience] I find it so liberating. I can style it just the way I like it. My little dog who is in his 14th year hates the groomer, so he's quite content to be clipped by me. We're all different, so we must embrace that - God Bless you x

Hi Sandra, I have friends that would make a declaration about things that they would say to always do a certain way. Then occasionally they would change their minds. Let’s say their name was Jones, my husband and I would gasp and say “it’s a reversal of a Jones decision” ! Even the most determined people need to reverse a decision now and then.

Life sure is about change. I find that I need to periodically think deeply about what I'm doing and why I'm doing it and decide if I need to change what I'm doing or keep doing it. I've gone back to using a Franklin Covey planner and using the system where you determine your roles in life and your values and plan round those things first. A light bulb went off in my head and I realized I needed to, first thing, plan quarterly visits to see my daughter and grandchildren in Vermont instead of haphazardly seeing them. Because something would always come up and preempt my visits. I made the trip between snow storms this month! Figuring out what will make me happy and then scheduling it. That's been my big change this year.

So we're conditioned for 4:30 a.m. I love to open my blinds and watch the light change til sunrise. Peace and gratitude. Dearest Sandra, thank you! You are a garden! Just a garden of life... meaningful thoughts, reflections and beliefs for those who will listen and I think many, many do. I'm one. I remember you myself, as a very pretty, happy and soft/gentle woman- when I was a young little girl. I was an only child in a clean and tidy yet very un-homey house in Southern California, and with no children allowed to visit my house during my entire childhood. I found what I would now call a sense of "community" while getting to see your sweet show, "Romper Room". I don't think I ever heard my name while you were looking out to the children in your viewing audience with your big magnifying glass. I probably didn't especially need it. Not sure it even registered with me that it might happen. So there was no disappointment. I can't believe I am actually sitting here speaking to/with YOU now Sandra, across all those decades! Bless your tenderness. It was a drop of sweetness in my life when everything else was so sour and stark. Just being (sort of) in your presence and with other small people of my size was somehow a "bit" of gentle assuredness that I could "see" I too sort of belonged in that group. It was enough to soften the morning occasionally. You probably have said that name although I must have missed it. I can picture you saying it. I would have been just so tickled I think. So, in conclusion, yes, I think I called you a "garden". Yep. And a garden of goodness you are. I used to love gardening as a Mother. Anyway, may your interesting life continue to offer you all the real, tangible blessings you can wish for for a good while to come! You made a difference, "to this starfish" as the saying goes. The best thing about you is your awake-ness to what life offers US because you are so available to all of the meanings of life! People ask, "What is the meaning of life". Right? Well in introspect it's every experience we've come through for the better or the worse but we don't get to read the manual at a rate of more than one page per day do we. Soon it's time to write our Epilogs. Yours is in your YT entries. They'll be there when serendipity calls to just the right persons seeking a little calm in the storms of life. A cup of tea and a lemon cookie and Sandra. Ahhhh.... Your book is thick now and mine is quite a tome now as well. You are so knowledgeable! People find that in me as well, for what it's worth, and I recognize a treasure when I see/hear one. I'm NOT a NEW KZread viewer of yours. I've been a subscriber and frequent listener for quite a while and it made me just giggle when I found out who you were a while ago - in my life so long ago. What a cool surprise. I have 4 grown children whom are all literally gone now, nowhere in my life- have been for years and years and years, that I raised 100%- to, and past the age of maturity. Children I gave birth to. No help. Life is shocking. Life is harsh. Loveliness is my only focus and I find it somewhere pretty much daily. There is no place to just lay down and die.... I am strong. Turned 68 just days ago and yesterday being Mother's Day, it was a little tough, of course, but getting a bit easier I suppose with each year. Looking forward, usually eager, to see what fills the frame of my own big magnifying glass every morning. There is much more to life than the harsh. There are gardens of our own that we seek and find almost daily! Big thanks for starting me off with a little warmth and popping up in my current day any time I want. Blessings, V

My late aunt decided after she became a widow after 50+ years to change her life, too. After 3 or 4 years, she sold the house and moved south to live with her oldest living friend, 7 years her jr. She had outlived everyone else, and I went to care for both of them. Where she had always done her own hair, she went every Friday to a nearby little shop and Annie always did her hair to my aunt's liking. My aunt passed at 97. Her friend 1 yr and 1 week later at age 90. As women, I am told that it is our prerogative to change our minds. So, if we have decided after reconsidering our choices...I find it's often better in the long run that we do adjust our plans accordingly. A boat captain will adjust his coarse to safely arrive at the destination, we should do likewise. Had a mini poodle for a while that I would take to the groomer. He would prace like he knew he looked good! Funny little boy.

I have made so many changes prior Covid and ever since. Changes for the better. I'm still not there yet, but I'm seen progress. With God's help, all things are possible. Great video Sandra. I agree with you about having curtains open and waking and going to sleep with the light. I did this for over 30yrs when I was lucky enough to live in the countryside. Now that I have moved to be near my daughter I am surrounded by street lights so this is not possible as I need absolute dark to sleep so I sadly am back with the blackout blinds and curtains. I think what I shall do though is spend more time outdoors as I love it so. I have an allotment which is lovely and peaceful down by the river so instead of doing housework I shall go down there and "weed"!.

Sandra, you are so much fun to listen too. Your voice is very calming and pleasant. Like you, I too changed a few things in my life and sleeping soundly after my husband passed during covid was impossible and stayed impossible for quite some time. I listened to a neurologist also from CA. THE ANSWER for me was to say a small prayer and dig into the treasure box and find something of the day that brought you joy. Oh boy, that worked like magic. On some nights I don’t even make it to the end because I’m sound asleep. BTW, I’ll be 80 next year and live in the mountains of Arizona. Also I learned to love myself and do a “high five” in the mirror to start my day. I’m having fun with it. Thank you for the guidance through a difficult time in the “Golden Years”.

LOVE your new haircut!! You are more youthful and beautiful with each new day!! And YES, we must always be open to change and evaluate the good things in our lives and discard the things that are no longer working or making us happy. Thank you so very much for inspiring each and every one of us to be even better than we can imagine!! Hugs and Blessings....

I loved your video from two years ago, and I loved today's also. Life changes all the time - seasons of the year, and seasons of our lives. After having a mild stroke in Oct. '21, there were many things that I couldn't do as I recovered, and I thought I would never do them again. In the meantime, I started doing new things that I'd never done before, and gradually resumed doing things I thought I'd given up for good. No need to apologize - you've given us permission to roll with the tide, and be who we are today and every day. I SO look forward to Tuesday morning and spending time with you!

Darlene I hope you’re doing better and thanks so much for sharing about your health. I’m sure that was such a wake up call to change your life and make the most of every day. You certainly have proved that resilience is a very important quality to have in life. We all can learn from your sharing how your life has changed, and how you’ve overcome as well. I’m so happy that you’re able to resume your life again and add other bonuses to it. Thank you so much for being here today and sharing with all of us your thoughts.

Sandra, your hair looks wonderful! Can you send your hairdresser to Southern California! Just kidding, but only halfway. You always look so beautiful, as if you're on your way to have lunch with good friends. I came upon your videos about 5 years ago and always look for new ones. Really liked when you told us about kiwi, from your kitchen! I didn't know kiwi was that good, but I'm not sure I'd eat the skin! It's a little fuzzy, isn't it! I remember watching you on TV. Wish our children still had a show like yours today. I am saddened by the fact no one is teaching the young people common manners. Take care, Sandra, I notice you have almost a half million followers! So happy for you!

Beautiful! Love your new hair and the video was so helpful. I'm consciously trying to pull the good bits I've learned from covid,,like treating a day out with friends as the true treat it is! Keep looking up! Your such a treasure. We live in NWPA where we hardly ever have sun, coming or going,,so I'm glad I have no sleep issues! 🥰❤️

I know there are parts of the country in the world that don’t get much sun. I just happen to be lucky to be here where the sun shines most of the time. It certainly has helped me. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Barb.

Such pretty hair ! I am where you were a few years ago, but of course I don't want it to change negatively, if you follow me. I am going to try the sunrise, sunset example. I am so tired that I wake up too early, or I sleep in and the day is half gone and so the cycle of not getting anything done goes on because there is so much 'caring' to be done. Your advice is SOOO good, You look wonderful, you always did . Thank you. Just off to walk perhaps a hundred yards with my Nearest and Dearest . I bought him a 'stroller' which he wouldn't use, but we went out yesterday and he found it was super being able to walk properly and I was not so terrified he would fall. Thank you for your encouragement.

Josee, oh, have I been there! Arthur resisted a cane, a walker, and then a wheelchair. But each and every one of them helped him get out and about rather than being housebound. I know it’s hard. Best of luck to you.

I understand. I went to the beach this morning and met a wonderful couple from Bombay, who now live in Tampa on the west coast. We both went to see the sunrise, and it was cloudy so we only got a few seconds before the clouds covered it.

Sandra, thank you so much for this wonderful video! First of all, you look incredible! Your hair, makeup, your earrings, your outfit - all perfect! I love the idea that making changes on purpose can be so good for us. You are so inspiring and REAL. And to me, real means you are allowed to change your mind and evolve through life. Your positivity is something I desperately need right now. So thank you a million times for your uplifting messages....you are sunshine. You truly are. Even after tough times, you are sunshine. Hi Sandra, you're glowing today. You look much fresher and happier. It's been a while, now that I can catch up with you, I am grateful for having listened to your sharing of insights. Our lives are like photograph albums. It's nice to look back at them once in a while, to ponder, and especially to recollect memories and to learn from the experience. Glad that you and Sofie enjoy the pampering. Most of all, celebrate everyday living and be grateful always. Have a wonderful day, Sandra and God bless you 🙏🏻🎉
