Being a gigging musican myself I've come to the conclusion and realization that it's a passion but also a big hobby what you invest your time and money into for peanuts and sometimes you'll land a decent size local show. But I do it because it's rewarding and I enjoy it all the same.

Damn that’s so crazy to think about.. there’s probably mainstream artist/band that do similar things and have no idea it’s just all paid for

You could also do the opposite to show those numbers weren't real: find a video that has the same number of likes/dislikes/comments as the music video and say show many less views it has.

The industry is fake! It’s all fake you are 100% correct! You on the other hand are real and telling it like it is! I toured and played in some bands in the past that saw some small success but it’s such a grind, the tours and dealing with promoters and people in the industry can be so tiring and frustrating!! I just don’t do that shit anymore. But.. Great video Steve ❤

Kind of related. I was doing some research into the first artist to release a song using autotune recently. Its not Believe by Cher. From everything I've read Kid Rock's Devil Without a Cause album came out a couple months prior to Cher's single and the song Only God Knows why is the first song released that anyone will admit was autotuned.. but.. autotune was commercially available for a year before either of these songs were released. Its kind of hard to believe that Kid Rock's first commercial success was the first use and if he was at the time unknown artist getting a push from the industry you have to wonder... how many other artists/industry plants/pretty people were using it to try to get over?

I was in a band just like that. We were running our shit. We did really well. -until we had to hand everything over to "professionals" and hope they did it right. The major problem was that instead of being a really good local band, we were now competing with Will Smith and Radiohead and Beyonce. We busted our asses on tour and did really well with fans but for some reason anyone in a big office with a tie never saw what the fans saw. It was frustrating to just not be given a chance. Almost every band we toured with from 2002 - 2004 were dropped from their labels after one album. Meanwhile so many artists from the 70s and 80s had their breakout hit on their 2nd, 3rd of 4th albums. It's all about money now. Creative people are not scared AI will replace us, we're scared that the greedy business owners LOVE the idea of free art. They also know most of the regular stupids don't care it's fake. They just keep buying it.

@JunkdrummerTV yea lots of ups and downs. Bittersweet experience. I wish you could just take their money and not hand over the keys to the castle we worked so hard to build.

Not meaning to be rude, but it just proves that money talks and bullshit walks when so-called P.R. people say they can help only to turn their backs on artists such as yourself who are trying to make an effort to get somewhere with your band mates and your music.
