The intro song is of course an augmented version of Like Light To The Flies by Trivium :). Hope you enjoy this video.

ahhh I friggin knew I recognised that tune!!
It’s cool to see you get better at lead, I remember you saying you couldn’t do solos at all one video
During this summer I got myself ESP LTD M-Black Metal Black Satin, which is also a great and I got to say, I'm in love with these black metal series. No bullshit, just amazing guitars for heavy music, that's all there is to it.
Like light to the flies!!
Great vid man, I've got one on order as I'm left handed so I just gotta wait 😫. Sounds/ looks fantastic, can't wait!!
Omg haven't heard this song since high school also Baena soloing??!?!? This was awesome. Refreshing...yet familiar.
Nice video! PS The "Blackened" Black Winter doesn't have just 'black' pole pieces, but the pole pieces themselves are different (hex screws vs. the regular screw and stud/slug).
Great video, I've been curious about this guitar for awhile, you definitely sold it, thanks!
Andrew busting out his lead skills on some Trivium? Great to see you improve, man. The LTD is fucking amazing! Best quality import models along with the newer Schecters by a long mile. I have yet to experience a bad 1000 series-level guitar so I may check this series out. The black M-1 model is SICK.
Thanks for the review, I’m trying to pick out another eclipse. I have an ec-1000 but want a second one. I have my guitars set up so they only have one volume and single pickup so this looked appealing. I wish they would make one with binding and such but all black is a clean look. I subbed btw
I'm a proud owner of one. Its my primary recording guitar. The tuning stability is amazing and the clarity of the single Black Winter is unmatched by any active pickups I've ever played. Not even my James Hetfield set.

Good to know man! I have my set of the JH EMGs and I’m like can tone be better than this?! 😂 but I love the black winters so your comment sold me!
Nice, love the content and your music. Also the guitars, keep it up man!
I bought the phoenix model in this line, had it for 3 weeks now. my first non ibanez guitar and i gotta say I'm a huge fucking ltd fan now
Just got my black metal m series and it's a great guitar! Love esp and LTD.
Big ups for the Old Trivium love
She's a spicy guit! Solid black looks so slick.
I just got a 2013 ec-1000 and it’s really nice. The Ltd stuff seems to be really good for the price
Great review mate..... totally getting one!!!!!
I was just trying to learn this song yesterday 😂 Suffice to say I need much more practice. Amazing!
I believe that the volume knob rotates "forever" because it allows you to have some versatility on the tone. I guess if you rotate it half way, you'd get a warmer tone, close to what a bridge pickup would sound like. The rest obviously is the amps work.

Cool video like alwas dude. I'm really curious to know how "dirty" it gets since it's a satin finish guitar? I had a Schecter years ago that got all messy just by looking at it (was a nightmare to try to keep clean). Basically wondering how sweat/dirt resitance the finish is :)
Great Demo dude. Much appreciated. Curious how the BW sounds in just plain standard and drop D tunings. Still bad ass?
Andrew - do you miss the fret inlays? How visible are the glowing dots in regular lighting?
I’m looking at getting one very soon. Did you switch out the strings before tuning at all or did you just use the stock strings it came with? Looking at using it for Drop A tuning most likely
So I've been looking for a simple guitar like this. My first choice was the G&L Rampage Jerry Cantrell Tribute guitar. My second was the Kramer Baretta special and my 3rd was the Ltd F-10. I love Cantrells tone bot overall I love all kinds of music. Metal, Rock, Country, Blues and much more. My question is this... Is this guitar a one trick pony geared solely for black metal/metal? How versatile is it?
Sounds awesome, might have sold me on buying one of these
I have the same guitar, but I swapped the black winter for a pegasus. Killer guitar.
helpful video thanks a lot!
oh man i wish i could buy new guitars like every week lol.
How would you compare this to a Solar A2 or S2 guitar? :) thanks
Shredding Baena
That guitar is super clean looking!
i tried one a week or two ago and it played great
Hi Andrew. What string gauges did you use on this guitar?
Did you sell the 8 string LTD Eclipse? I noticed you said "had" in this video.
Sick looking instrument!
Sorry if anyone asked this before, how did you get rid of the black metal writing on truss rod cover?
Andrew, do you still like this guitar? I'm torn between the ec256 satin black and this one . There's a 400$ price difference so I'm guessing the black metal is better. Or am I wrong? Can anyone help me out here?
I’ve been trying to get into Black Metal in general, ugh I love the aesthetic and the culture surrounding it.

Dissection, Emperor, Dimmu Borgir, and Immortal are all good places to start on black metal if you like more melodic metal. If you like more dissonant or brutal music, Mayhem, Blut aus Nord, Dark Funeral, and Marduk will suit your fancy.

Check out Vargrav - Reign in Supreme Darkness... Epic Emperor worship band that does symphonic black metal perfectly. Really captures the aesthetic and atmosphere of black metal very well. Plus it's a one man project to boot, so it's quite impressive

You love is the black winter pickup!! Are the best
Have you ever tried a Mark Holcomb PRS?
How's the bridge pickup compared to an emg?
Damn came here to learn about this guitar, now I can't stop listening to Hollywood's bleeding!
Simply put... yum
Can you play The Dali Thundering Concept. "Ink"?
Yeah, cool riff👍👍
what strings do you use ? how thick are they ? for this guitar, i play in Drop C and i dont want to change to much on this guitar for using thick strings
@eatsleepdie8808
5 жыл бұрын
I play with 11's, the standard Ernie Ball ones. Bottom end is thick enough to withstand playing down to Drop B (sometimes A# if careful) without going out of tune or sounding weird, but the higher end isn't super thick so the higher notes don't sound dull. That's what works for me.
Nice guitar! The only negative is that cheap molded plastic nut on every LTD series ( include 1000´s )
So I take it that it’s good for chunky shit. I just got the viper 7 string baritone. Should have it in the next cpl days. I take this pickup can handle grindcore
where did you get that shirt?
What tuning is this in? And what gauge strings?
Opening song: Like Light To The Flies - Trivium
this would be my number 1 most wanted guitar if they just included the neck pickup as well. i guess easy way to cut the price by 100 bucks for ESP but i would actually pay more. This guitar reminds me of the 30th anniversary edition which i wanted so bad in high school when it came out.
@oranstakeover8981

You can always buy it and add your own neck pickup... obviously you'd have to get it carved but if you really want it i guess its worth it
That guitar sounds great.
What are you doing for distortion?
Does it have a maple cap?
What if fit for an autopsy tuned down? 🤔

I like the guitar but when it comes to metal i REALLY dislike passive pickups. How does that pickup compare to active pickups on a similarly priced guitar?
@DevanArya
4 жыл бұрын
It's a black winter pickup, a high output pickup, sounds killer for metal, despite the fact it's passive.
How many guitars do you have?
Love the review! I think that the black metal series isn’t meant for black metal music I think it’s more of ESPs word of play. The guitar is all black and its for metal. So its like a whimsical say hey its black and for metal it’s a black metal guitar. And I dig that. 💪💪
Fking sick guitar bro btw, i love it

Bro is that still the Baena5153 profile?
ltd wa 600 or this?? , What do you think is better?, seymor duncan JB/59 or seymor duncan black winter,?
@JayBruceWorld
3 жыл бұрын
JB/59 is significantly more versatile
Behemoth does not tickle your fancy? Maybe Satyricon? A lot of deathcore bands draw influence form black metal nowadays.
As long as tge volume goes to eleven, I’m good 🤘🏾
Just for anyones fyi it isn't called Black Metal for the music genre, but just for it's all over design :). Furthermore, I really want this and the viper-7. Probably will put in a emg H4 in it since I don't really care for Seymours. Probably would also slap on either some Cleartone Monster Heavy 13-70 or 14-80 in B or A standard.. ugh sounds soooooo satisfying now.
@himawarii_gg

It definitely is named after the genre since it's also equipped with the SD Black Winter (which is voiced after black metal tones)
I always wondered if he could play lead
🤘🤘🤘
Amazing Intro one of the best Guitar reviews i ever watch to be honest a good demo in the beginning given us the idea how it really sounds just no words man keep doing your thing 👏
Pretty confused with these LTD factories. This is made in Indonesia? On their marketing pictures that model says "KOREA" behind headstock. Some of the 1000 series are made in Indonesia also these days if rumors are right. Seems like you dont anymore know what you get if you buy LTD from mailorder.
Setscrew is loose in the knob, that's why it spins forever!.... Lol
Nice Trivium cover to kick off the review, man. I miss old Trivium. I have noticed that you seem to like some Baby Metal. Try listening to "Inkya Impulse." It is brutal and crushing.
I hear Trivium,I push the like button :3
Just got one. So much lighter than my other 1000s
Idk about this one... Looks a bit too high priced for what it is, but then again, I own and love my Gibson les paul.
The 7 string viper gives me mahogany
TRIVIUUMMM UUFF ❤ la guitarra + cancion = 💖
what if municipal waste tuned down?
What if Behemoth tuned down? Deafheaven? Wolves in the Throne Room? Uada? Burzum? Dark Funeral?

I like black metal, but I'm fine with this being played for metalcore/djent.
Its called black metal because its satin black and has metallic hardware.
what if Mayhem tuned down?
24.75" is not good in F# standard. 26.5" minimum. Too short makes a sloppy sound
for the demo...I wish you liked black metal

I love ec’s. I love everything about this guitar except for the Ltd emblem. I’m getting one and removing it.
I will literally sell crack for this guitar
cool guitar but i just cant get past that wierd LTD logo on the headstock
A Gunshot To The Head Of Trepidation, my favorite Trivium song!
My god how the fuck do you play a solo with that damn picking technique
Play some Emperor you core kid
