I love how Rachel is one of the most successful stars to have started on youtube and then become successful in TV, Music Film etc. but she is one of the only ones that still spends time and effort on creating content for her original youtube channel even after her success :)

My wife got a reply from Rachel a couple months ago through Facebook and Rachel has replied to a couple of my KZread comments in the past. Rachel is one of those chill celebs that would be cool to hang out with, like Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan.

Not many people realize this, but the Emmy Awards implemented a rule back a few years ago that a show with a runtime of 30 minutes or less was a "comedy" and anything over 30 minutes was a "drama". While it certainly had its dramatic moments, I think most people would agree that "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend", at its heart, was a comedy. I like to believe that if this rule didn't exist, that the outcome would have been different.

That sounded so preposterous and unbelievable that I had to google it to prove to myself it was incorrect. But you hit the nail on the head! I can't believe that rule! I mean... the length of a show has nothing to do with its content! How ridiculous! I agree with you- I bet a LOT of outcomes would be different without that rule!

Is ridiculous that the Emmys won't nominate the CW shows and their actors. It should only matter the quality of the shows and performances not the network that makes them. Rachel Bloom and Gina Rodriguez deserve nominations.

When I saw an episode of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend for the first time I was amazed, I thought it would be just another copy-paste reality tv meets comedy show...Obviously, I had never seen or heard of Rachel Bloom...now I find her one of the most incredible writers, actors, musicians, and just in general stars I have ever seen. Rachel Bloom, your material is outstanding, I haven't seen a single piece from you that haven't liked. Your films are so well thought out with themes, morals, opinions, references, facts, etc. and they are stunningly well-paced with each section being crafted with solid structures and links; not only all of this but your pieces are genuinely inclusive, highly socially relevant and emotionally charged without being highly offensive to either side of an argument no matter the clearly demonstrated preferential treatment for one side of the argument that benefits the themes, morals, etc of the piece. Rachel, your work is incredible, has amazing rewatch value, and is full of educational material I would love to be able to share with my children someday when they are old enough to watch it (by themselves of course XD). I can't wait to see what you come up with next. You are truly inspirational and it is a privilege to be able to view your work. Thank you.

+Lieutenant Thalia +John Lee The Mid Atlantic accent existed back in the 1900's to late 1950's, It was born when American society tried to combine the standards of American and British English and was thus considered educated speech. Which was then implemented in schools and was taught to kids especially those who were richer were able to send their kids to prestigious schools were likely to get a jump start learning to talk like this. It was then usually considered a distinguishing upper class accent same as Received pronunciation is associated with the upper class in The UK. It became associated with films and TV because from the birth of those 2 forms in the 1920's the USA industry wanted people to speak the standard educated eloquent American English so, like schools the Mid Atlantic accent became the accent you had to do in our entertainment industry during that time. The same with The UK/British industry from the 1920's-1970's with their RP accent. The Mid Atlantic accent fell out of use because it was associated with the Upper class which had a larger population in our country with the rise of the 1960's counterculture from Hippies, Women's Lib, Civil Rights etc. those of poorer socioeconomic backgrounds fought for their rights in this country and the upper class shrank as well to now being around 1 to 16% of this country. Being seen as part of the rich was/is considered pretentious and snobby. The accent died out because it was considered a symbol of the oppressive rich.

The problem with that comparison, at least in the eyes of the Emmy Awards, is that the two shows are different genres. Back a few years a rule was implemented that any show with a runtime of 30 minutes or less is a "comedy", and anything over 30 minutes is a "drama". I love CXG and also Modern Family (tho the last 4 seasons have been terrible). I believe this show should have better recognition as well. Good thing Rachel, Adam, and Jack won an Emmy for Music and Lyrics for Anti-depressants before it's too late...

Awards don't matter as long as Rachel Bloom gets to host an episode of SNL in the near future

As much as I'd like to see this, I don't think she'd be fully able to utilise her talents properly. The writing over the past few episodes (as of Feb 2018) has went downhill and I think would make her look bad. Don't get me wrong, if the SNL writing team pulls itself together and Rachel is in an unassailable position, it would be great, but not right now. (This is purely my opinion, so feel free to disagree :)

Rachel is today's funniest and most charismatic young comedienne, I think. Also she's gorgeous and has an amazing voice that can sing every genre! I've just watched Crazy ExGirlfriend season one, and it's absolutely brilliant, but it wouldn't have worked without Rachel. She's outstanding in every way!

Richard Curtis was, whose Austen-esque comedies are an obvious source for the deconstruction of cxf. Funny that Roger Mitchell, director of Notting Hill, actually worked with McKenna in "Morning Glory", and to round the name dropping, Roger Mitchell has in its hands the best Austen adaptation "Persuasion" which is about all the romatic tropes and whishful thinking you can think about.

There are only going to be 4 seasons of her show. This is based on the project financing apparently. The script outlines were written for 4 seasons in advance of the first show being filmed. Sounds a lot like Rachel, knowing exactly how many seasons and what will be the storyline for each show in advance.

Honestly, I'd be happy if they have a satisfying ending at 4 seasons then keeps on going way too long until it's not really good anymore but you just keep watching cause once it was the greatest thing you'd ever seen and hey, songs are pretty fun. I hope that that happens.
