her show literally ruined tv for me. the development for each character is better than any show i’ve seen. the lyrics and writing is clever and i can’t stop watching the show. i never rewatch shows but this is the exception. i was doubtful at first but it really is the best show

Two real similar ones imo are The Good Place and Schitt’s Creek, I highly suggest them.

I didn't cry but thought using BPD was Kinda hit or miss because there are like 4 main types of BPD. Having been diagnosed with Borderline a long long time ago I don't think it was depicted that great. The movie girl interrupted does an amazing depiction about living with BPD.

@@beatsbyelvis6890 Yes there are 4 main subtypes, I have BPD and also went to University for psychology. Every one knows wikipedia's not a citable source. Feel free to read up on the medical journals and many scholarly articles about BPD from when it was first recognized as a condition up until now, and keep studying as new information is available.

It's THE BEST comedy on tv right now. Not exaggerating.

​@@briannalee1998 I can't comment on Barry or Better Call Saul as I've never seen them, but I can subjectively say Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is much better than The Good Place. Don't get me wrong, I was obsessed with both shows, but CEG just has way more depth, better story continuity, and more relatable characters. The Good Place season 1 was great, very creative and intriguing. Season 2 was pretty good, not as good as season 1. Season 3 was all over the place - there, I said it. The show claims to be edifying, but only turns out to have a superficial layer of morals. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, on the other hand, started off bumpy and cringey, then moved on to being the most relatable and hilarious show, that can still perfectly execute the underlying message and themes regarding sexuality, love and mental illness (along with the ingeniously written songs).

You can tell she’s such a theatre kid by the way she unprompted stands up to do choreography

I really liked that bit at the end, "the chorus is like the thesis statement" and the other bits. I'm not a songwriter but I'd love to read a book where Rachel Bloom talks more about writing songs.

It's so sad that this show is so low in ratings. It's truly an excellent show.

I just found out (after watching the entire 4 seasons) that she co-created the show. The entire time I was like “wow casting is amazing, they really hit the jackpot when they cast her” 🤦🏻‍♀️ such a great show!

That bit where she talks about writing songs, and the chorus being a thesis statement and whatnot, I really love that. As an aspiring musical playwright, that was a really neat way of looking at it.

Jesus Christ she is just SO delightful. She’s hilarious and her dissection of music as an art form to deliver ideas is spot on

I'm not a fan of Dr. Phil by any means, but Rachel's impression of him was so funny. And honestly, so much funnier than he was in the show.

Rachel and her show are on a whole other level. Kudos to her and her writers.

Rachel is my hero! The show is so good, I'm so so so thankful I "gave it a chance" two years ago. Everyone on the show is wonderful, but Rachel, what an inspiration...

unicorn puppy same! I watched one episode and found it ridiculous, so I stopped watching it. Few weeks later I was intrigued for some reason to give it another chance and actually really enjoyed it and binged the rest on netflix haha

This show truly is the best, the last few episodes have been incredibly moving yet still very funny! Can't wait for more

"Songs are like musical essays, you have your thesis statement in the form of the chorus and supporting ideas in the form of the other verses and the bridge." I think that is a great way to think of songs in musicals.

Rachel saved fiction.

As a dude that hates musicals all all kinds of dancing and singing - take it from me.. do not pass up on this TV show. it is too good. it is funny and it is binge-worthy.

I rewatch the show like once a year. As someone who was officially diagnosed with BPD along with other stuff, this show means so much to me. Rachel Bloom and the creative team were amazing. Also, heavy boobs is one of my most shared songs.

Using very old sitcom methods it was one of the most unique and creative shows ever aired. Incredible amount of talent and she's just brilliant.

I've actually been really nervous about the show potentially not getting renewed, but I have a better feeling about it considering what the CW president said last year when renewing the show (and Jane the Virgin). It was mainly about how it's not all about the ratings and when you have high quality programming, that's more important.

She’s so musical theatre it’s amazing!!!!

Y’all I was going through a rough breakup and watched that episode with Dr Phil. It legitimately made me bawl my eyes out cuz it was just so real.

"Boat themed parody of The Black Eyed Peas' I Gotta Feeling" NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Her comparing a song to a thesis essay made me look at music in a whole new way. So, I think I'm going to stare at a wall for the next few hours in order to break down all of my favorite songs.

This show is real af and I listen to their songs in difficult times, because it's great comedy but also really inspirational.

I said once Hamilton has the greatest songs and nothing can get over it until I saw Crazy ex-girlfriend and I must say Rachel Bloom and the other songwriters have made the best thing possible in terms of "sing what you feel" and also the further you get in the show the funnier the songs actually are. 1. Crazy Ex-girlfriend 2. Hamilton p.s. I know they're both in different directions. Crazy Ex-girlfriend deserves at least a spin-off.

She worked as an intern for Seth Meyers when he was head writer for SNL. Surprisingly, she didn’t get a spot when she auditioned! Rachel is soooo AMAZING and could have given those ladies a run for their money!

The song with Josh Groban is my favourite song from the series, and there have been a lot of great songs.

Crazy ex girlfriend is genius I highly recommend the show. Really poignant and really funny, the best portrayal of borderline personality disorder I have ever seen on tv. I normally hate musicals, but in this case it works producing classics like Love Kernels and so many more. Loving Rachel Bloom’s work she is so incredibly talented, intelligent and hilarious.

Her show is amazing and its so real the way it deals with real life issues but in a comedic way. I just got into the show this week and i have no regret. The songs are so brilliant too i hope they get better ratings they deserve it!

The first episode is like super cringey and it’s sorta a slow burn for a first episode but after episode two it’s SO insane you’re invested in her craziness. You caught wanting the train to wreck but also wanting her to succeed in her wild plans. It’s very good and worth it. Even just the song creativity is worth watching the whole show.

I'm just after watching S3 E6 where Rebecca finally gets her diagnosis and has her attempt and I cried so hard as parts of that has triggered me. It's the first time that my opinion of the show went from just a parody rom-com musical to a more deep rooted and bringing up multiple mental health issues and awareness of personality disorder(s).
