I discover the joy of ENGLISH BREAKFAST in London.
As an American travelling through Europe for almost a year, I do sometimes miss a hearty breakfast of eggs and savory sides. Today I head over to Elbie's Cafe in Essex, a female owned cafe full of friendly locals, to have this classic dish. There are tons of variations of this dish, mostly determined by where you are in the UK. The staples usually include 2-3 eggs, pork sausage, black pudding, grilled tomatoes, fried mushrooms, toast, and baked beans.

Best hangover sure on earth! 🤣 I'm more old skool and forego the toast and hash browns for fried bread instead, a lot of people don't eat fried bread anymore because well, it's bread fried in bacon fat so is considered very unhealthy but I have a fried breakfast about once every 2-3 weeks so fried bread is a real treat as I normally eat very healthily, fried bread is the best thing on the plate as it brings everything together and is absolutely delicious!
I find the secret is in the mix... egg yolk, beans, beans/sauce, a touch of HP and perhaps bacon and tomato together. Otherwise all you're doing is tasting the components separately... it's the mix that is a big taste.

I like when breakfast is strong and rich. I enjoy to watch how they served your breakfast on the one plate. It looks nice. I don't eat pork meat. Only fish, chicken, lamb and cow meat. But I enjoy to look nice served breakfast, nice, friendly atmosphere there, polite staff. Well done!

It’s spelt and pronounced Herbs, not ‘Erbs. We don’t put vinegar on a fry up. Your cup of tea was brewed very well and looked very good.
Hash browns are part of an original English breakfast as it should be fried bread.

That full english breakfast looked 'heaven sent', so good ..... in the UK the general idea is that a good breakfast ' sets you up for the day' ......which area of London was that cafe in, please???

We Brits do 'not' typically put vinegar on a cooked English breakfast, unless it has chips, which isn't really traditional either - we do typically put vinegar on our 'Fish & Chips' however! The breakfast looked lovely, thanks for sharing.

heinz beans have a gajillion grams of sugar in them, thats why they taste so good. In America, its not uncommon for big juicer barbeque connoisseurs to do the same thing. If you have a bit of bacon with every mouthful, you dont need any added salt but for me personally, I love pepper scattered all over my fry up instead

A lot of brits do, especially workmen! I'm not a workman but I'll definitely have a full english breakfast whenever I'm out and about ... with plenty of brown sauce on, of course,
