Hey Jose, I reached out to you during one of your live streams a couple weeks ago. I just wanted to give you an update on my situation: I had cleaned the contacts of my printhead and cartridges, however it did not solve my 5200 issue. I reached out to Canon and they ended up exchanging my printer for a new one. The new one is working nicely. Thanks again for the help!

This is what i do instead of using any sensors, chips, etc. I normally check the carts every so often, though if i forget, no big deal, i just allow the printer to enter the protected failsafe as the printers way of letting me know its time to refill. Same thing on my 4100S. You dont need anything. The only benefit with chips and windows or sensors is that you know when your almost empty which is nice especially if your doing a big job and dont want to deal with refilling until later. beside that your safe, so are the Pro-1000, 2000, 4000, etc :)

Hi Jose! Super helpful info! I just picked up a brand new Pro 1000 with no ink or MX tank for $150 on craigslist. Guy said he used to have a photo studio and bought 2 pro 1000s on sale but only ended up using one. At some point he opened the box and took the inks and MX tank from this one. I'm looking for a place to source empty cartridges to refill but I haven't had any luck on Ebay so far. Any recommendations?

Hello Jose Some remarks to this video: 1.Please stop telling 'people were scared to death. It is just a printer and no one was scared to death 2. You are correct, an error was displayed on the printer. Something 52 I think. 3. I did not know the details about the 3 sensors on each ink line to check the ink level in the internal compartments, (cudos for sharing the information - I would love to get a copy of the service manual for this printer) but the possibility for the pro-1000 somehow indirectly detecting no ink flow from the cartridge was discussed on your group with another member when I have initially addressed the issue, then part of the discussion was removed by one of the admins. According to the group description, there are only two admins, you and another guy. Would it be possible you guys are not discussing with each other? 4. For sure the ink did not start flowing in the internal compartments as soon as the refilled cartridge was put back in the printer. The printer did an longer than usual agitation cycle first. If ink were flowing in the internal compartment during this long agitation cycle, my table would've been full of spilled ink. Again, thank you for sharing the details about how the internal compartments are refilled.

People do get scared to death when they see something odd after trying to hack a $1300 printer. Maybe Panic. The error is 1752 The printer will always run an agitation cycle specially after what you had to do after your cart ran empty. It will do that as well even after a few days of not printing. I already took care of the issue and will not happen again. You can get the Service Manual in my FILES tab. The name is.... PRO-1000ser_OnlineManual_Win_EN_V01.pdf
