This is the opening track to Apex, which is a concept album based on a story Brittney created. It continues through the most recent album, Abyss. Each has an overall different vibe that is equally good. The guitarist who did the screaming parts in this song is Grant and they generally use it to distinguish a different character in the story. The other guitar player is Andrew and they have a couple songs where he sings, plus he also does some harsh vocals live when they play the older songs that have multiple screaming parts.

I love the two guitarists Grant and Andrew, they’re just sitting there going ‘yeah I’m just sitting here chilling with my guitar, no big deal’ 🤣 they are so relaxed. Phenomenal band all round..

Power metal band doin power metal things. I LOVE the fact that they show all the riffs and licks, the method for the double-kicks, all the hand positions for each section. - It's kind of like they're saying "Here you go, cover bands... have at it!" BUT, the band members are the nicest people you'll ever meet. Seriously. Others will come along with their favorite songs, but imo it's hard to go wrong with : Tonight We Ride, Legacy, Abyss, Cleanse the Bloodlines, Northwest Passage (a cover of the Canukian Classic). Also, Brittney is going to be a featured guest artist on the upcoming Ayreon/Star One album. It'll be out in about 2 weeks, iirc. I can't wait to hear the whole thing.

Britney Slayes, Floor Jansen, and Simone Simons are three of the most powerful voices today.....add in Elize Ryd, Alyssa White-Gluz, Tarja Turinen, Sharon Den Adel, and little Tatiana rank up there as well.....also, the singer from Suite Clarity (can't recall her name offhand; McKinzie I think) )

IMMORTAL IS MORE THAN A NAME! AWAKENING To look up into the night's sky, to see the stars they are changed To know a thousand years or more have passed, and I am the same This mountain hollow that keeps me in a suffocating embrace A prison and a safe haven, it's always been this way Lo, a new master calls me to awakening, I know this one brings the end Far out beyond the darkness I've been living in it's true, a whole new world awaits Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die My path begins with the new dawn; a voice is calling my name It always starts as whispering then manifests to a scream I'm drawn to the creature that wakes me, bound to them by the curse My soul exists only to serve, a covenant of birth Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die Come to me, awakening Follow my voice, come to me Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never Lighting my way in the night To roam; to never die

Great reaction! I f#ckin' love me some UtA. I am really glad you liked it. I think you got recommended UtA in the Epica and Nightwish videos because they are kind of a trinity of queens of metal for a group of people. Less about the bands than the singers. :) Next from UtA: if you want to see Brittney cut loose try Tonight We Ride, if you want the essential (imho) UtA experience try Cleanse the Bloodlines, if you want to see them do something in a very different style try Legacy (so good), if you want to go back in time and meet the band try Test Your Metal.

Thanks for the review! Unleash the Archers have some absolutely mind-blowing songs, and are one of my favorites. They are classified as power metal, and hail from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Overall, Canada is not heavy with well-known metal bands. Devin Townsend Project, who has his own unique and brilliant metal style, is from nearby Vancouver though.

@Killermcknight: Glad you liked Unleash the Archers! But after looking through your catalog of reactions, evidently, you haven't reacted to another UtA track. However, I think that before you do, I have a couple of live performances for you to check out, if you've never reacted to them, or heard them: 1) Hallowed Be Thy Name, Iron Maiden, live, 1982. This is the quintessential '80s performance, IMO. Not only had Bruce Dickinson just joined Maiden, but Hallowed Be Thy Name hadn't even been released yet. Despite this, Bruce Dickinson's vocal talent in this performance is a talent that influenced Brittney Slayes of UtA. 2) Karaoke cover of Queen of the Reich by Queensryche, Brittney Slayes, Edinburgh, Scotland. This "performance" really isn't one, as it was spontaneous, given that Brittney and UtA had just finished up a full set that night, which was the final stop on their European tour at the time. Yet Brittney, for whatever reason, gets up and sings Queen of the Reich better than Geoff Tate. That first high note gives me chills every time I hear it.

Canadien Power Metal. Brittney sounds like the daughter of Bruce Dickinson and Dio. Incredibly powerful. Saw them live back in December in a small club in Boston. Just as good live as in the studio and the stage show was awesome. If you go to a UTA show bring your lightsaber and Brittney might duel with you from the stage. The story behind the songs from Apex and Abyss is phenomenal. Anything from these two albums is great. Next Cleanse the Bloodlines, Abyss, Soulbound. Also love Time Stands Still. But still one of my favorites is her singing Queen of the Reich in a karokie bar in Scotland after doing a full show. Amazing kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZGxkprSqn6rffNo.html,

Hell yeah dude they kick ass. Check out Soulbound or Faster than Light next, off their new album. But while your on epic female vocals you need to check out Oceans of Slumber- Adorned Fathomless Creation or song called Winter. Bit of prog, doom and just all around heavyness. Digging the reactions!

Excellent track, I definitely have to listen more to this band ! There are more and more female singers in metal and I think it's very cool, it brings a bit of freshness. A few years ago, I would have rejected all these bands saying to myself: "Don't take me for a fool, I can see that you're trying to sell me your soup by putting a super hot female singer". But I ended up recognizing that they were talented for the most part, and that these bands were solid ! Good thing I'm not a jerk anymore ahah :p
