Happy you understand it Andy! And some of these came with trial and error. I was at a show one where I was in a shortened loop and suddenly I realize I had the key shifts programmed in an area I couldn't access. So over time some things changed to properly streamline this.

Too many shift-functions. And (generally) missing out on the sweet-spot of having direct access to three (3) decks at the same time without any shift-functions. Four decks is luxurious, three is optimum. Taking only three would make the whole device a bit wider, but: Three decks, you know. Anyway, congrats for the release!

I appreciate this comment! It's always good to keep an eye on some critique. In this form factor, a ton of choices needed to be made. I can't believe we basically crammed all the Mixon8 functions into this tiny little unit. Which also meant a lot of combos. A 3 deck unit could be a unique concept actually! There's nothing like that out there : )

@@laidbackluke Indeed, there isn't. Would be an instant buy for me. The peeps over at Algoriddim maybe have some telemetry about how often deck 4 is simply empty :-) Forward this to Reloop and *tada*! They need to revive Reloop Contour, that was a rare breed of single-deck controllers. Lots of double-deckers, but that was a single deck, twice more compact. And also - if that's a proper no-drivers MIDI controller - it could be an incredibly useful DAW controller, just to position the DAW with much better precision and convenience!

I'm trying to keep an open and positive mindset on this. No doubt it looks revolutionary and futuristic. I know with any new gear there is a learning curve. That said, my first impression is positive, however, there seem to be excessive shortcuts to remember. Multi-function labeling will be clutch, but I know there might be limited real estate to pull it off. Portability is second to none and the price seems reasonable.

WOW! I remember us talking about this back in March for MMW and to see it in a finished form is amazing! I love the backspin feature the best! This is going to be WAY nicer to have than carry around a giant dj coffin that weighs a ton lol. Im super excited for this product and can't wait to get one myself! Im so excited that you're always coming up with newer ways to do things! With enough time do you feel that VR venues could be a viable thing compared to going out ? Is there a way to remove EQ low-mid-high from the Fx similar to how you can on the 900nx2? And maybe an addition that may help? A small button next to the EQ's to cut the eq out so you don't always have to turn the knob every time? It could provide a sharper cut back in and out of that frequency.

using the PLAY and CUE button with shortcuts different modes is too risky. I use loads of mode button shortcut mapping on my Traktor KONTRO X1 MK2, but i would never use the CUE and PLAY button for it. if you finger slips on one of the mode buttons, you will stop your track. great concept, mas you should use different buttons.

I'm not going to lie, I was expecting something more. It is true that it is better than the previous model, but in my opinion it falls a little short. It is true that now there are more buttons but it still falls short especially when mixing with more than 2 tracks. For example, only two faders and only two play and loop buttons. No matter how much the system has layers, in the end it becomes a mess. For example, the Xone K2 has more 4 faders and more buttons and knobs (it's also a bit larger but still portable). Also the K2 has an audio card and thanks to MIDI you can use it for any program, does the same with this Mixtour? What I do have to admit is that it's really cool that it has boometers. Overall I think I like it better than the X1 Mk3. I think that Reelop had a good chance of having made a K2 type device (remember that it is more than 10 years old and people still buy it) that could work with any PC program in order to have a larger market. If this device is only going to work with djay pro it probably won't sell much, in the end what people want and use is the Traktor, Serato or Recordbox. Of course I also appreciate the effort that Laidback is putting in to improve the product, it is very good that the market is opening up as much as possible and we are getting out of the overpricing of the flagship products.

I just can’t get my head around this. It’s functional and does what is required but that’s not all performing is about. It all stems from the days of vynl and this completely detaches itself from that. I understand things have to move on but I really will be disappointed if djs start showing up with their phones to gigs. (Sorry that’s just me).

Theflx4 is way better and it’s Bluetooth and easier to work without wires and that’s coming from a mixtour user wayyy before laidback lookever thought about using the mixtour. To be that expensive it has to have 4 channels minimum. It’s 600 so you mean to tell me 4 channels would be like almost 1k no jog wheels. I think not. Now if this was 300 it would really sale. The combo is amazing with Djay and the options across iOS and laptop devices. Don’t forget sequenced samples and loops too. Denon and pioneer are, to my sensibilities, stuck right now. @@vmaestro-xj9mp id argue that beat matching itself isn't a condition for DJing but rather a core skill. Just like FX, CUE, and all the other tech. An amazing skill and one of the most fun parts! But sync is still fine for mixing two tracks together as I literally does the job. We have to remember as DJs it's the audience and experience that counts, if Mr Luke can deliver that on his phone on a tiggy device because that's what he wants to still makes him a DJ. What would you class as the building blocks of DJing? Mine would simple just be 3 things: Picking a track Playing the track Picking the next track based on audience/other tells And making it as seamless of an experience as possible.
