I like it. I've always wanted to build a small desktop printer, and always wanted to try a delta style printer. So this checks two boxes.
I could totally imagine throwing a 0.2 nozzle on it and using it solely for miniatures!!!

yes for sure!
Man, you are impressive. So many new models, and very consistent work and releases. It's inspiring. Well done.
So cool! So cute! Love it :) keep up the good work :)
Super cool, love that its roughly half the height of a spool.
I think this might be cheapest & simplest 3d printer ever designed for building DIY. Great work!
I have this dream/plan to build a WEG droid with a delta printer in it, and this might be just the place to start. Definitely going ot keep an eye on it!
You're crazy! I love it, I've always wanted a delta but I honestly don't want something too big. Looks fun!
stoked its finally here man ! great work
Totally awesome. Well done, sir
Great implementation, especially for testing devices that do other things like a delta robot, or electrochemical metal deposition
Super excited to build this...
I can't help but imagine the XY build volume could be increased while keeping the footprint by changing the position of the ball joints (between the belt and rods, outside the rods, or far outside the rods), but I've never built a delta so theres probably some clearance issue I'm missing.

the arms would probably not have enough rotation room
I might build this, sounds like a fun project to do. Keep up the great work
Love it have to add it to the list Rolo
AWESOME! I love this at this size :)
Looks fantastic!
A really nice printer! It's quite cute.
Oh wow, this is pretty cool, right up my alley too since I already have 2 Monoprice Mini Deltas. Too bad they aren't being made anymore, they are pretty zippy with that Pico board we are using! Though, building one from the ground up sounds pretty awesome, thanks for the project!
Such a cute little printer! I already ordered the parts to build its larger sibling, the Delta Flyer, based on the BOM for this one, but now I'm sorely tempted to build this little guy as well! I must resist... Maybe I should go and upgrade my Rook 2020 MK1 instead.
This looks great for field printing tpu parts for drones. Time to put the voron bowden backpack on that.
Omg I’m in love.
It's so cute! I kinda want to make one
Looks nice🎉
Sweeeeet little Delta!!!!
This is epic!!
this is sick.
That’s an awesome printer. It looks like the Benchy takes up the full build volume.
A close up of your Printed Benchy would be so cool.

Love the project! Would you make a mount for a M4 extruder?
@Rolohaun

I actually might, I need to order some parts
I kinda want to make a version of the Rook that's printable on this, now.
Awww, smol
DeltaForce!
Would be keen for a slightly bigger little delta, next build has to be a big enclosed corexy though. A little delta next to my voron 0.1 would be cool though, love watching the kinematics.

yes 120 x120 version is next
Thanks
looks awesome! is there any specific reason why you decided to put the electronic-boards on top instead of adding them to the bottom? Having them in the bottom would move the center of mass down and could make it more stable which could be beneficial I guess 🤔
@Rolohaun

there is no weight in the mainboard, all the nema 17 are at the bottom and there is plenty of weight down low. Also people might add a heated bed and you do not want electronics in the base
Yeah! 😆
Well. I think I'm gonna build one.
💯
This is good. There is a chance to see the same printer, but taller?
@Rolohaun
2 ай бұрын
users on my discord are building a few taller ones
if it had a 0.2mm nozzle its probably be nice for miniatures
more adorable than a kitten and it wont grow up to be a cat!
If the other one is the Rook, does that make this one the Bishop?
@Rolohaun
2 ай бұрын
Gusifer on my discord already designed a printer called bishop
Could I get the outer dimensions please? I want to build one of these guys but need to know if it'll fit in the space I've chosen for it
@Rolohaun

about 280mm tall and 180mm wide
Do a magball version!
@Rolohaun

magballs are too heavy and expensive for this version, maybe on a 200mm one
Do you have any plans to update it in the future?

how do you calibrate the delta? any probe or manual input?

you can you a probe or manual paper method, klipper does the rest

This is cool. But where's it in action? 👍

How does the bed work? It looks like it’s 3d printed with capton tape?

Question to anyone able to help me. I have a few spare(not so amazing) parts, and want to make a cheap version of this for my little brother to see how much he would actually use a 3d printer. Any tips on doing a budget version? Smaller motors? I have spare ender boards, most likely would do marlin and avoid klipper too. Any and all help would be very appreciated. Thabk you in advance!
@Rolohaun
Ай бұрын
very hard to make this much cheap, I do not recommend Marlin for delta 3d printers
@jonathanserrano655

Ahh, 😂that is good to know. Thank you!
Awwwww, that is so dinky... I need one of those now, lol.. I don't know why, I just know I do.. powered by a 8 amp hour weed eater lithium battery, would be clever.. also, I don't know why I "NEED" a printer to be compact, portable, stand-alone powered, but, I know I need it... 😂
honestly, why not make it direct extrusion and put the spool ontop?
@Rolohaun
2 ай бұрын
There is no room on this size, maybe the 120mm version
@SlinkySlonkyWaffle
2 ай бұрын
@@Rolohaun maybe one of the smaller direct extruders?
@pokeprime
2 ай бұрын
@@Rolohaun I don't think you'll have any room for a direct drive even on your planned 120mm version. Your best compromise would have to be some flexible shaft based extruder.

It's cool n all , but a delta is a poor choice for a small printer. It uses a lot of space to get its angles. However, it could be a really fast printer being so small, which is what I was thinking of doing, build one super light and go super fast. Does not seem that was a goal here, and it uses a lot of parts.
@Rolohaun
2 ай бұрын
I think it turned out great, not many parts you can remove from this. Every printer has pros and cons and there is a million ways to design them, that what makes it so fun.
