I know some other soapers say that they will never make brown soaps, so you're gutsy to do it. Kudos to you ❣ I believe you shouldn't limit yourself artistically by saying from the start "I will never use X color or X scent." Be open to new ideas. Enjoyed the candidness of your process as You speak start to completion …..cutting soap…..who knew it could be so interesting…. I agree paying homage to the communities of the provinces in your beautiful country……and I could see the beauty of the “cottage countryside “ north of Toronto…..in the swirls of that beautiful green …in the states we call it “cabin country “…. I really believe there is a future for the “Wild West”to come out in colors and names……and that soap toward the end that shifts in color from light to brown would be great for some memories of the breathtaking “Canadian Rockies”…..

Hi Jerika, everyone is different. ....I prefer to clean my dishes immediately after soaping. The few oils that are left on my buckets, (which isn't much, I'm a good scrapper, lol) I wipe it away with a shop towel. Then I wash in Dawn dish soap and bleach. This cleans and sanitizes. When dry, I spray with rubbing alcohol to finish sanitizing. Then I don't have to worry about dishes the next day, before my next project! I hate dishes, lol! I love the idea about using the lower molds for samples. They are hard to make look nice in a tall and skinny! I know because I switched several years ago, because tall and skinny soaps fit better in the hand and on the shower shelf! Thanks for sharing! This was very relaxing!

Jerika, if you want a bit of inspiration for Alberta, youtube Alberta Bound from Paul Brandt. It makes me cry. It was originally done by Gordon Lightfoot but I think Brandt's version is better. It tends to be a long time between my Alberta visits because the cost of crossing the border from the US is expensive since I live on the Gulf Coast.
