7:44 The racetrack is at Nürburg, not at Nuremberg (actually Nürnberg). 9:27 Never heard of Dresden? 80 years ago, the Royal Air Force was trying really hard to erase Dresden off the map.

Some strategy to be aware in general: 1. unlocking a new country that is not the goal will NOT increase your time limit, so that's pretty useless 2. unlocking a new country will increase your cost to open a new route, so you should have your network substantially established (when financially viable) before unlocking 3. only routes connecting capitals can activate the supersonic plane event, but supersonic plane is only useful when the connecting capitals are some distance apart 4. passengers only take the cheapest route to their destination and doesn't care about how crowded are the airports/routes in their way 5. each route can hold at most 5 airplanes, so you should minimize your transatlantic distance. Even with 5 lv 6 plane from London to DC, they will be all full. Thus, you need multiple entry points into the US/Canada (and you must use Greenland). Also, enter South America through Africa (you don't want to overload this already stressed part of the network), which also means the connection from North to South America should be very nondirect to discourage European passengers to go up then go down
@trjozsef

6. People are looking to go the cheapest existing way, it makes sense to not have big hubs because they will congest instead of releasing load from smaller airports. The most profitable routes are meandering.
@kanyemiddleeast9897

but it did increase the time limit... so that is a straight up lie tbh.

1. You can still get good value out of massive countries due to the rise in revenue. This applies mainly to China, India, the US and Brazil. Getting these in early can give you quite the boost, if your timer is fine at that moment. 6. The spiderweb-grid is crazy inefficient. Try to use a set of connected hubs. 7. Upgrading planes is better than upgrading airports, because it actually increases your throughput, not only the "pain tolerance" of the network. You need to upgrade your main hubs, though, so they do not trigger. 8. If you want to live on the edge, avoid panic upgrades when you know the plain that triggered the timer will take enough passengers back when it lifts off again. 9. Try to unlock agressively fast if you can survive it. The main motor of your eco is the number of passengers generated, aka. the number of unlocked cities. If you add new countries, you generally get larger cities instead of filling in old countries.

I immediately bought this and played it... and I love it a lot. However, while there's so much I love about this game there's just as much "little things" that frustrates me. Devs, if you're reading comments, here's some suggestions and pain points I had with the game: -I hate the notifications that completely pause the game -Normally that'd be fine, BUT if I'm making changes or creating a route it completely undoes any work I did. -It is not easy to click cities if a lot of flights are going in. IMO, if you click the city the city should take priority over the plane/airpath. Maybe put priority on clicking city over those. -I'd like to be able to click a specific city from shaving selected a flight path. -I found it a lil un-intuitive to navigate the flights - like I'd like to be able to select a city, select a flight, made edits, then click a back button to go back to the city's routes.

A little tip, make your larger airports hubs, for example I'd have made direct links from Berlin to the other three. Then when you open up a new country link the two hubs and do the same in the new country. Fly larger aircraft out of your hubs and smaller to your hubs.
Tips for Fly Corp: (I don't know exact percentages) Airline competitions, you almost never win. I usually avoid those. Always hire lawyers. They almost always win the case.

Matt, you are thinking of Nurburg with the big race course. Nuremburg has the Norisring, which is not big but a great German race course
I'm not the one to normally comment on videos, but I couldn't help it when it was motioned you had never heard of Dresden. Its quite sad that it is almost unknown that Dresden was almost demolished from the Fire Bombing by the US during WW2. I think the best description comes from the book "Slaughter House 5" by Kurt Vonnegut. Although a hard read due to its very upfront note that everything in the book is either real or imagined, the reader must decipher what they believe if fact or fiction. But it absolutely worth the time and effort if you have the opportunity. Additionally, if you are really interested in books that have been banned, this was newly added to the banned books of the Americas in our education system. It feels a bit like the US is trying to cover up their mistakes in WW2, though the government has previously admitted to these fire bombings when declassified in the late 90's/ early 2000's. Outside of that thank you for the great videos. Your plays of City Skylines lead me back to college. My community college has an Architecture program with classes that can lead to civil engineering for a transfer. Still unsure if I will follow the direction of engineering as the science aspect do require intensive ability to understand word related problems to break down into mathematical equations, and I just so happen to be great at math but not reading word problems. However your channel has brought a great deal of interest in the subject for me. So, please keep doing what you do, you are helping to promote other in great interest to learn about civil engineering aspect of the world while making it fun!
Its been 2 years since the last Fly Corp vid

Cities show where people want to go so you can upgrade those lines to move more people instead of upgrading the airports to just holding more.

Using the "hub and spoke" method (like all major irl airlines do) also seems like it would work very well, as it means you only have to upgrade a smaller number of airports and planes.

A mega edit Monday for this would be pretty cool. I enjoyed the videos from when you played this before.. it feels like im learning geography when i watch this 😂
I think when you look at a station and see that the most passengers in the stations are going to a station that is exclusively connected to the station you are looking at, it might be worth putting in another route to the other station. Otherwise, I think you are treating the symptom (airport is full a lot), not the problem (people can only go to this airport to get to this other airport)

Sweden is quite sparcely populated yes, biggest cities being Stockholm and Gothenburg. Stockholm being around 1 - 2 mil ish dependant on how far you consider the city "border" to be, and Gothenburg somewhere around 500k and 1 mil, I don't know the stats well enough nor how accurate they are other then that They are our biggest cities

I remember this back from when I first discovered the channel!
Dresden was fire bombed during WWII and was the deadliest bombing of the entire war, including the atomic bombs dropped on Japan. The wonderful book Slaughterhaus 5 by Kurt Vonnegut includes the aftermath and is pretty essential to the main theme of the book. If you've never read it, I highly recommend. It is a really fast read too, can't be more than a couple hundred pages.
17:15 "is copenhagen actually there on an island not in the country" i mean excuse me but the place where copenhagen is is called zealand or as we call it sjælland which is the most populous part of denmark. that large peninsula also called jutland or jylland has about the population of copenhagen so yes its on the island thats more significant than the other part. (ps its also where its last two capitals (kalundborg and roskilde) was and the largest company in denmark is)

I do like that game.. but it was killing me when RCE was buying plane upgrades over the "buy 1 more plane" also.. I always time it to have planes on same tier going at same time from the other city they are connected, to have most continuous travel.. not 2 planes going from 1 place at same times.. not optimalized!
It's BudapeSt, not BudapeSZt, "S" and "SZ" sound differently in hungarian, "S" sounds like "SH" in english, pronounce it like the "S" in "shout" or "shaming wheel". Jokes aside, love your content and I like when my home gets involved in some videos, it happens quite rarely, but I like when it does happen. Greetings from a hungarian follower. :)
LMFAO the "Nuremberg Ring"
Berlin Airport being upgraded that quickly is irony in itself :D
Im happy since you are back to fly corp
Matt, please. If an airport has a bunch of planes waiting to go to a certain route the FIRST THING to check is that destinations connections, ensuring that it isn’t the only way to get there. By making cities more interconnected, you avoid backlog in capitals.
You should try Mini Airways demo, like Biffa did

Since you made a video about avaition what about trying Flyout? Its kinda in deep game that allows you to engineer your own planes from scratch. Its really cool but i yet to have to make a plane that would fly properly 😅.
I'm assuming the racetrack you're thinking of is the Nurburgring (I'm not German but I just put together that the town it's in is Nurburg so thinking of it as the Nurburg Ring or circuit is cool). I think it's kinda near Frankfurt or Dusseldorf (?)
As a Swiss guy, i file a complaint because of Airport Bern. I had to look up to know there is actually is an airport in Bern but taking a look at the webside, i know why: today there was exactly 2 take off and 2 landings. Zürich would have been the correct airport to put there. Geneva would have been ok but really a border case :p Actually almost half of the fence of the airport is the border Switzerland / France. Basel (better known as Euro Airport) is actually in France even if Basel a Swiss city.
The home of the Frankfurt sausage is Vienna, as confusing it may sound :D (We have Vienna sausages in turn)
