The giant shell fish is called Geoduck, the proper pronunciation is goo e duck. We used to hunt them for free on the beaches in the spring and fall months here in Washington when we were kids. The syphon would stick out of the sand on low tides and my brother and I would hunt them together. One person would grab the syphon and hold on for dear life as the other dug up the sand like a mad man. It was so fun. Great memories. 😊

The funny thing about the fertilized duck eggs (balut) is that there's one step that you must always take, and that is to suck the juices after opening the shell. Some really don't eat the duck part of it, but you have to eat the most delicious part of it, which is the yellow one.

I used to be a forensic pathologist when I worked at the stock market. During the gut slide, I used to try and guess the person's financial income based on what was in their stomach (this would usually only be fun for an accidental death as terminal death stomachs were almost always identical). Your gut slide would have been completely jarring to me. However, in hindsight, if they were all actually eaten around the same hour, I'd like to think I would have guessed "food taster".

Kind of over cooked geoduck is basically a rubber band. The 10sec poach was enough and sprinkled with sea salt or dipped in soy sauce. If anything a quick toss in a vegetable stir-fry is enough

about the unhatched fertilized duck eggs, I highly recommend you should eat them with sauce which includes salt, pepper, lil' bit lemonade. This dish is really popular in Viet Nam
