Some people just have excellent spatial reasoning skills and don't need any fancy CNC machines. I've ground a rod for an 0.010 over bearing by hand with a file and crocus cloth and the car is still going strong 14 years later. I'm definitely impressed by LeDan's work but it is also something I could do myself if I were determined to do so. I've been toying with the idea of making a pushrod boxer twin using aircraft engine cylinders. Would probably use Lycoming O-235 parts for a displacement of 117.5 ci, along with a blower, and put it in a drag bike to go up against Harleys.

I'm pretty sure to make an engine run backwards you need to have a reverse grind on the cam. Pretty often in marine applications you'll have twin engines and you want one to spin counter clockwise. I'm also wondering what he did there. Turn the cam 180 end for end?

and there's perfect engine balance with contra rotating crankshafts at 360degrees i think. that should improve performance.

Great build! This really illustrates the different firing angels and their sound - awesome!!!
Le Dan, tell us more about you, your background and your shop. I enjoy your work. David from the USA

Mind blowing how you designed to the angle to be adjustable. Genius work. Thank you. Enjoyed every moment of the work. And the sound...

great examples of splitting fires for the same volume.. and showing a derivative that is balanced and unequal. More than ingenuity, this video has a lesson.
This is incredible! Amazing somebody can make this
I never get sick of watching this craftsman at work.... 👍🏻👍🏻
It turned out very cool. And if you do it with two exhausts, it will be absolutely gorgeous.
The 270 degree sounds really cool. great job
Absolute genius. Greetings from the Netherlands.
This dude is a genius I wonder how he figures out all the things that would make something like this work
I would love to know half of everything you have forgotten, that would make me a fantastic mechanic, you are an absolute legend !!!!

I love the flexibility of the engine design to switch from 180 to 270 and 360. degree
Notice how enormously vibration free that engine is, as it has two counter rotating crankshafts!
He has major skills and is a brilliant machinist and engineer. My hat is off to him. Excellent work. 👍🏻
A true engineer. One that isn't phased by engine block cracks, but still, a true engineer 👍
Now, let's make it 2 stroke. 👏👏👏

I much prefer the sound of the 270 degrees out. Once again, awesome job!
Wow… that sounds obviously much easier than it is 😮❤ great job. Interested in the durability of all the welding joints 🤷🏻♂️
Impressive Le Dan. Surely a motorcycle manufacturer has to offer you a spot in there engineering R & D dept.
Damn a U engine moped never thought this could be done. You are awesome dude
Simple. A work of art. Well done!
The thought and effort needed to bring this together is amazing...
Awesome build and work.
Incredible Build. Very impressive!
Engine sounds great,..more like a larger engine. No shortage of" get up and go".Real talent and craftsmanship;...
Amazing machining work, great job!
Re Dan, please please come to Japan Your talent are all people's dream. All these work must be shown in Motorcycle show
I liked the 270 degree firing order sound. Be cool to hear it with the Harley firing offset.
A relative of mine did this with two Kawasaki KH250 engines, was a beast of a machine
This guy's thinking & skill render him worthy of a Millyardian cup-cake . . . maybe even two! : )
this is literal magic! sounds so good, too!
Gather people in the world, they can't beat you yet, bro.
Awesome bro,im always impressed by your builds. Cheers from Australia
This is the guy that can do what I have been thinking of for 25 years. A hydraulic pump that emulate the 3 phase characteristics of electrical power. If there are three pistons at 120 degree in between, it would theoretically be an even flow and pressure of oil. The same way three phase electricity works.
You are a true mechanical,, ✨🌟✨ Could you fit one more,, 😆. I looooove the pull from 3 cylinder, 120 degree. 🥰 Nice to see that you have invested in a sandblaster box,, 👍👍. Fresh blasted aluminium with clearcoat on top looks very nice. Thank you for sharing,, 💖🙏💖
another great build..👍🤘

wow wow wow. Would love to see u make two 50cc into a 100cc U engine in flat (boxer) configuration! Great job man!

My God, you sir are nothing short of a genius! Where in the heck did you learn this stuff? And how do you keep it all in one head? Wish I had 10% of your skills.
Great work, I wish I could afford to commission, maybe two times 350cc "U", but this sounds excellent!
Honestly one of the coolest channels out there, I love this stuff and its really interesting to see someone push the limits of whats possible. Can we see a 6 cylinder engine made from those little SOHC honda engines next? A DIY Honda RC166 would epic!!!
I like the 360 degree best. The muffler sounds quieter and less raspy than the "NLK Thailand" used on the V-Twin from November 2021.
Such a talent !!
Amazing, crazy work Come try make enggine v4 2stroke

A nice build and I have the same type of safety shoes as you ✌️
That sounds amazing.
theres one small thing i all of a sudden noticed : the cam chain tensioner on one side is on the slack side of the chain and the other is on the side the chain gets pulled on by the crank , the cranks are running in opposite directions and the tensioners are both on the same side this might trow the cam timing off a little bit on the one cilinder , it can be fixed if he makes the lever so the roller sits across from where its now think the 270 ran smoothest sounded the best allso wonder if the cam can rotate backwards too think he needs to make a reverse rotation cam too or run both cams of the same crank
@heliarche

I'm pretty sure to make an engine run backwards you need to have a reverse grind on the cam. Pretty often in marine applications you'll have twin engines and you want one to spin counter clockwise. I'm also wondering what he did there. Turn the cam 180 end for end?

Fantastic work 👍
Well, now the front cylinder cam chain tensioner is on the wrong side (tension side) since the additional crank is rotating backwards. In addition to that, the rear cylinder and its head lack cooling and the front cylinder has intake and exhaust ports reversed and those are not fully equal either. So this is a nice construction, but has some issues.
