I CHALLENGED famous Youtuber JORDAN TEACHES JIU JITSU to a roll…
I was pretty stoked to make this collab with Jordan Teaches Jiu Jitsu - he is posted the video with his own commentary so that should be pretty cool to see it from our two perspectives.
If you like my approach to BJJ check out my instructional on Half and Quarter guard - the perfect game to slow down and beat more athletic opponents.

If you can guess my next roll analysis in the comments - I will give you a free copy of the course.
If you would like to see me do a roll analysis with anyone, please let me know - I love doing these as they are so much fun and I learn a lot.

This was amazing to watch! So cool to see your technical analysis after I just made mine. I hope your channel massively grows. It deserves to! We should do another roll when I get back to my normal weight (185ish). I'm 200lbs right now 😬, and felt I had to rely on my size/strength advantages at times lol. Could definitely feel how skilled you are. Thanks again for doing this with me. Any help/advice you need growing the youtube channel, just lmk, and I'm happy to help any way I can!

Jesus christ, two blackbelts training technically on camera with a competitive pace and the guy getting caught not making excuses and being genuinely complimentary of the partner's game. Love to see it.

Great to see a top level black belt with modesty. Loved this breakdown referring to both competitors and giving props where applicable. Please put more of this on your platform. I'll subscribe for sure.

Beautiful low pass to high, butterfly to X pass by Jordan at end of roll! I love this combo/have been doing it for 10 years with huge success. I absolutely drill the X pass into my students heads the way my Professor used to force us to drill the traditional torreando constantly. You move pretty good but I would say less complaining about weight disparity, esp when Jordan was playing little man jiu-jitsu with you. He allowed you uncontested top position on the start and reset, you chose to take the top position, a choice he gave you! I'm not trying to be a dick, it's my honest veteran critique, I'm a BB under an ADCC champion in NY. Oddly enough, there is like 3 in a very close proximity, we are blessed in that sense. I have gotten the pleasure of being destroyed by some of bjj history's best!
what a rolling analysis ! Just watched this back to back
Another amazing video and analysis. Feel very lucky to have you as a coach. OSS!

Any tips on improving cardio specifically for bjj? Would it be best to put down the mutton rolls and do more rolls?

It can be, but speaking generally (excluding pros) I find smaller people tend to be more technical - likely because they don’t have attributes to lean on (eg strength and size)
I enjoy the quiet meditative music behind the narration strangely it helps me focus and take in the information

One thing I’ve noticed about Jordan is if you convince him to do anything longer than a 5 minute round, it seems like you could easily just burn him and start to avalanche in anything beyond 5 minutes. He’s very 5-minute-round oriented. For me, it’s always odd to see a BB collapse, gassed after a 5 minute roll. Or start to fade so much after 5 mins. It’s a sign there’s a huge energy and strength expenditure, which isn’t really BB ideal. Just an observation and my two cents after watching some of his rolls with other folk.

I guess everyone kind of has different styles depending on their goals. Eg for me I roll for fun so I tend to roll long duration low intensity. I know Jordan fought MMA as well, so his training may be geared more so for high output short duration! Thanks for watching ✌️
