I'm 52 yrs old and was doing that stuff when I was a teen, I learned to use a 3 prong in Hawaii and shot tons of kings and coho with it

Wow so cool! Thanks for sharing your story!
First of all, LOVE Indie Alaska. Secondly, I'm so envious of those who just get out there and LIVE life. I struggle with putting mental obstacles in my way, so it's definitely something I want to get better at.

Thanks! A lot of water was accidentally swallowed while taking those shots.
Great video. Brr that Whittier water looks chilly. Curious if there is a community online to learn about spearfishing here near Anchorage.
What technique do you use for dispatching the fish after shooting it? Ikejime, brain & bleeding, or what?
hi Indie Alaska, I feel so sad to sea such a good video! I wonder if you will be interested in testing some outdoor boots?
Incredibly well done!

Thanks for the kind words! The story tells itself when the subjects are so epic!
That's not the largest Coho in the world?

You are correct! It's the worlds largest coho to be caught with a pole spear specifically.
😎👍🏻

Check this stupid stuff out, in sitka where i grew up they recently changed the fish and game law that said spearfishing for sockeye at redoubt lake is now forbidden because its too invasive and disruptive to the fish hahaha

Wouldn’t be a law most likely. Might not even be lawful or legal for them to enforce. There needs to be a pro-spearfishing lobby of some kind though for sure. AL is the only state I’ve been where the regulations are fair and sensible.
If thats the bigest silver ever caught, then im db cooper. And ive got news for you. Im not db cooper.

Lol! You are correct! It’s specifically the largest silver salmon to be caught with a pole spear. Not the largest silver salmon to ever be caught period. Thank you for watching and engaging with the channel! :)
