I'm an atheist and my brother sent me this. Im 46 and have been suffering from chronic pain after surviving a brain hemorrhage and fracturing three vertebrae and my skull. This is the second video he sent me from pastor Steve. This really hits home.

So, I was an addict for 4 years, I was oUt there! My children were living with my mom and I was living in a one br apartment getting high, doing all kinda crazy shenanigans; I finally got sober and got them back but I missed 4 years of their lives. I struggle with thoughts of "have I messed up my kids" and "was I out of their life for too long & now our relationship is ruined" they tell me often that they aren't upset with me, they're just happy I'm back home. I know this message was for me. I God is so good!! And his timing is perfect! ♡

Jessica Noneya I’m sure it was so hard. You feel guiltily, you feel ashamed... But remember this. God redeemed you out of it. He was there even if you didn’t know it. He carried you and he rescued you out of it. Your kids did miss you but now you have them back. And now you can enjoy every second with them. He is with you. Don’t ever forget that!

I have come upon the realization that the redundancy of my thoughts has built in me a character which I can only reverse by using the same power of a THOUGHT. This was such a powerful sermon. I just want to thank this church for having such a wonderful sermon every time I seek for answers to my crazy thoughts. I keep comparing my life to others since I wasn't able to finish my school together with my batchmates. I got pregnant early and I'm a single mom for 9 years now. I was busy envying my batchmates success to the extent that I'm not appreciating mine. But after I heard this sermon I realized that GOD was with me all time. Looking back to the things that happened to me HE never left me in the dark. HE always brings a match to give light while I'm walking my path. And this match become a candle, then a lantern, a bulb, and now it's the bright sun. I just finished my bachelor degree last year as a teacher, I have a better job now compared to what I had before. I'm living in a better apartment with my son. And GOD is still telling me "THAT IS NOT ENOUGH I HAVE MORE TO OFFER and THE BEST IS YET TO COME"

This preaching was made for me. I started to cry while watching because yesterday I caught a thought that the happiness I was feeling wasn't going to last. I genuinely needed this and my spirit rejoiced when I saw this video (the 1st one that showed up when I searched Elevation Church). Praise God!!

And while we're here, I'll point out that Jesus chose a woman to be the first to announce his resurrection to his followers. Why would he not continue to use women as well as men to proclaim his gospel and build up his body? Hope you can receive this word in love from a sister in Christ.

I caught a thought. This morning was starting bad. This video came to me. THANK YOU JESUS.

I caught a fear that consumed 20 years of my life. I wasted thousands of hours of sleeplessness. I didn’t know how. When. Where. But it consumed me. A single Mother. My 2 girls are my life. After God, they are my world. Today, my world is falling apart. They are no longer home. Not in the house of the Lord. They chose the World. The sinful way of living. I had to trade my fears for FAITH. Even though it’s PAINFUL, I know my Redeemer lives. And I will not allow those two thoughts to harm my Faith. GOD WILL FIGHT FOR MY GIRLS: ELIZABETH AND JYSLEY: You belong to JESUS. This is just a Class. A preparation for the Plan He has for you. I believe it. In Jesus mighty name. Amen. God bless your life. I have been going through a rough patch but I caught a thought that its not over and God has turned things around for me so I will hold on to the word of God and I won't let the devil deceive me and rob me of my miracle. I caught a thought and I will testify to the Glory of God

I caught a thought. Watching this before bed, how God is using our thoughts as tools for His glory. Through phones, a connected world, our own intimate environments. How the thousands of people that are watching and will watch this video will all be reacting differently, wiping the screen, wondering, sneezing at a certain point, and Jesus in all of His suffering and redemption is Lord over all these things, how great is our God. I can TOTALLY relate to this sermon in a lot of ways, but what really made me excited about this sermon is my struggle with OCD intrusive thoughts. From the very beginning when pastor Furtick was tossing the bible it reminded me of the very first time I had an intrusive thought about the bible. That was 8 years ago & even though I still have intrusive thoughts my perspective has changed. It's definitely a spiritual war. I suffer from shame & suicidal thoughts & I am tempted to compare myself to others, even if I recognize that I know Jesus wants to use me. At first I didn' see why Jesus allowed me to struggle with intrusive OCD thoughts, but now I have a better understanding. I often have battles in my mind & I often wondered where those thoughts came from. I thought they came from me & OCD is very deceptive & cunning if you really struggle with it. I realized that OCD can be a blessing in disguise.

A thought that brought you in, and there's another "THOUGHT" that will bring you "OUT".I caught the second one....Amenn!!!!.....

I love the sweater! This word is so true. I caught a thought from God to quit my job and I cried in happiness BUTTTT the ppl around me were trying to talk me out of it. Sooo many thoughts came to my mind of how are u going to take care of ur family? How are u going to get medical and dental insurance? You know you’ve had 5 strokes! How are you going to pay for your heart monitor? What are you going to do for money? I don’t want to be on welfare? Ijs!!!! I use to have crazy faith, but this decision is rocking me! I have an imax screen mind 😂. But I can’t help but think God has something in store. And it’s BIG! There is this tugging in my spirit that I can’t ignore. It’s this urgency inside of me. I wish everyone in my life could feel what I feel, see what I see, know what I know! And I wish I could feel this way everyday 🤔😇

Surely we aren't big enough "but" with Our God we are. Just know with God all things are possible. Jesus showed us true strength when asking God not my will but thy will be done. God knows best we may get hurt but know pain endoureth but a night but joy cometh in the morning. Amen.

I am currently in a rough patch in my life. I am a single mother. Sometimes I look at my baby and just cry because I dont know what tommorrow holds. I look ahead and see darkness. I needed to hear this!! I accidentally came upon this message this morning but I know I definitely needed to hear this right now!! I have been struggling with negative and deep rooted thoughts that have affected me for so many years. Thoughts that I am not good enough. Thoughts of depression. Thoughts that overwhelm my every day life. It is difficult to overcome the issues. And I feel that I have been sabotaging myself with these thoughts. Hearing is like a light bulb that made me really think of relying on what Jesus says and does and can do! As well as the Apostle Paul of taking captivity of our thoughts! I have been caught between thoughts!! I have been crying through this message knowing that I matter and I am enough!! He has a plan and a purpose!! That the root of those thoughts and the trauma can be healed and changed to be used for His glory!! He is able and He who began a work in me will complete it!! His thoughts of me are ever so good!! It's time to demolish strongholds!!

I just had to write you and let you know you’re doing an amazing job sharing the gospel. I feel like people need to know when they are doing a great job! I’m sure you hear it all the time but I wanted to make sure I told you. Every time I get closer to the Lord, read/study more, get more involved with church I feel the devil attacks me more.. attacks my mind more. This came at the exact perfect time for me so I felt God really needed me to hear it. It has helped me so much already! Every now and then I suffer from obsessive thoughts that really make my mind tired. This gave me so much knowledge to know where they come from and how to get a handle on it. Now the “caught in a thought” always pops up in my mind and helps me think of everything I learned and how to get rid of the enemy! Thank you! I shared this with my husband and mom when we drove to dinner. We played it loud in the car. I made sure I told you this because I thought how crazy it must be for you to know all kinds of people are listening to you preach the word all around the world.. Even as we drive somewhere! This is wisdom at its finest. God clearly downloads a fresh word from heaven into your spirit for his people.

12:30 -13:50 "You catch what you're close too" This is what God's been preaching to me. As a person of faith, I sometimes go out of my way to help people with depression or suffering. However, after going to therapy my counselor had pointed out that these people I was helping were actually emotional vampires. I help them but nothing changes. It's like I put all my resources into a black hole... Here's what an emotional vampire is... "Emotional vampire is a colloquial term for toxic people who drain us of our energy and leave us feeling emotionally exhausted." You can also call these guys "faith vampires" because being around them your faith will take a hit too. You need to cut these people out of your life and set boundaries. Don't enable anyone who doesn't change. Don't catch them. Thank you Pastor Steven!

@@rufarochikwanha4972 I'm glad I can help. I view myself as a person of strong faith and it was like my roots were being hit. In an ideal relationship/friendship, you would help someone or pray for them and they would get better. But when they don't and come back daily, it's draining. Listening/being empathetic to a person's suffering is exhausting. That's why they call it compassion fatigue - pastors and therapists feel it. You usually can never tell when you have an emotional vampire, but if you're usually a caring person they just naturally get drawn to your kindness. I need professional counseling to point that out. Rufaro... I set a boundary and they haven't come back since but honestly my faith and happiness increased again. My social life has increased again too. Thank you, God. Remember, It's not our job to heal someone who doesn't want to change. It's God's job.

Giovani Camara well written, amazing words! thank you for this. i totally feel this! i’ve been so drained yesterday and today because i’ve been trying to support and counsel my father which is a huge burden. so, what about when it’s a family member? how do i create boundaries without hurting them? he desperately needs help and has no one around him that can offer him help and i’m trying to support him as much as i can. but i have exams and a very busy week and i actually can’t study due to feeling drained!

Rufaro Chikwanha that’s a tough one. Boundaries with people are hard but with family can be harder. But if he loves you he should be able to accept that him being like this actually hurts you. Communicate that to him effectively and say that you can’t do this right now. If he’s not changing even while you’re helping him. He’s probably going to be same with your help. If that makes sense. It’s possible you might be enabling. So tell him how you feel exhausted and a boundary that you can’t help him anymore. Emotional vampires will linger if the boundaries not strict enough... After you set that boundary have a solid self-care day where you eat and sleep and that’s it. Enjoy a sabbath day. Praying for you my friend. I don’t know how you’ll get through this but I know who and that’s Jesus. Bless you! Have faith that God will fulfill Jerimiah 29:11 and heal him so you don’t have tooo.
