That's called 'A Band". They have talent. They harmonize. Skilled musicians, vocalists and songwriters. They practiced and rehearsed until perfection. No autotune, sunglasses indoors or face tattoos needed. They are experts in music theory and know all the chords. We know each and every member's name. And no, their names aren't acronyms for something narcissistic or silly. They use the same names their mothers gave them. We don't know what they look like with their shirts off, and we don't care.

Glenn Frey actually played the solo on the album.

Every member of the Eagles can sing lead and backup. Every album has songs with different members singing lead on them. And their harmonies are always perfect.

The lyric, "We make it harder than it has to be", is a great metaphor for life!

We can all thank a young singer named Linda Ronstadt who, in 1971, suggested that her band go out on their own and form the Eagles. How about some Ronstadt reactions? Pick any genre. She mastered them all.

Heard that song, new kid in town, while recovering in a naval hospital that month it came out. Good song, bad memories.

The simplicity of this song is deceptive. This is a timeless ballad, the lyrics that confront the intricacies of a relationship that has been worn and weathered, but still lovingly salvageable. It is exquisitely composed and will be an eternal selection.

The Eagles Greatest Hits 1971/1973. Is the record holder for the most Albums sold.

I absolutely love this song. I think it just proves how versatile and talented this group was. They slowed things down on this track and it came out so smooth. And I could listen to the guitar solos for eternity.

This is what I call perfection in all: the voices, the arrangements, the rhythm, the melody, the lyrics, and the instruments especially that guitar in the last minute and a half ❤

One of the Eagles best and most beautiful songs. Timothy’s voice was at its absolute peak and Don Felders guitar makes you weep. Harmonies kill it too!

Timothy's vocals are spot on, but everyone hit every mark perfectly. One of the best live recordings ever performed. The voices literally melted into one.

The Eagles are always ultra smooth, consummate musicianship and outstanding vocals, fantastic song.

Randy Meisner was the original bassist and vocalist for the Eagles, and was replaced by Timothy B. Schmit, who wrote and performed this song. Meisner was originally with Poco, and when he joined the eagles, Schmit replaced him there too. So Poco lost two great singer bassists to the Eagles. I love Don Felder's low-key, muted guitar on this one, and all of his work for that matter. Also, the Eagles have some of the best harmonies in rock and roll history. Don Henley and Glen Frey were the primary lead vocalists and founders of the band.

Yes, this was one of the songs that would play on the radio as I would drive around back in the good old days...and recently upon hearing it again made me cry with nostalgia! This song was all over the airways back then along with the Bee Gees and Eric Clapton and a bunch of other great bands with great songs of sheer perfection!!! Those days are so missed!

Best of my love is a great song by them.

Timothy B. Schmit's vocal are sublime in this Eagles song. He's a favorite of mine since his days with Poco. Speaking of Poco, you might like the song "Magnolia" off their album "Crazy Eyes". Smooth, soulful song that hits you in the feels. "Crazy Eyes" is a good one too, more complex, but a really good number. Good reation to "I can't tell you why"

I love the eagles, their songs are so poetic.

The Eagles would rotate the lead vocals. Giving them an extremely flexible sound and it was always quality.

I love how you noticed the guitar outro lick. That's one of my favorite parts of the song and it's right before the fadeout. They must have known they were leaving us wanting more.

I just saw the Eagles at TD Garden. I also saw them in the same place in 2003. They sound just as good now as they did then. Timothy B Schmidt began to speak and I knew this song was coming up next. Unbelievable show.

Such a classic, and yet it was the third single from that album after “Heartache Tonight” and the title track “The Long Run”

Beautiful song, one of my favorites! What a mood it sets! Probably my favorite song by them is Take It Easy. There's a live version of this that is just so 70's!

They gave you so many different sounds because each one was an amazing musician, and any one of them could have led a band on their own. If you keep going, you will discover how versatile they are.

Video shows Don Felder playing the guitar solo but it's actually Glenn Frey in the studio sessions that played the solo. I know because i played on a session at Keith Sykes' house in Memphis, and Keith was there while Glen was laying it down. He said they would play a 2 bar section over 50 times or more before moving on! Later the producer Bill and his engineers would piece the best takes together...amazing!

Wow, That is incredible. I am mind-boggled how people's talents seem to come out of nowhere, when in reality they are filled with passion. My younger brother is a grade school teacher and credits me with inspiring him with my garage bands. I lived in Memphis way back in '84. One of his bands won The Road to Memphis Blues Competition from our state of Maine back in the '80s.They didn't win the national, but hell, how many people can say that they were on that stage? He has had locally successful original, rock cover and blues club bands since. I'm going to make a shameless plug for his latest project, Unfinished Blues Band. Their HS band, The Corvairs got back together after 32 years. My bro is the little guy in front singing, and playing rhythm and lead..

You are the second reaction content creator that has just now found The Eagles and it just blows my mind. The Eagles are one of the top best bands of ALL Time and I don't care what anyone says, to me, they are better then The Beatles. You are going to have tons of songs to listen to.. but WARNING.. the Eagles are notorious for protecting their music and you may get Copyright strikes if you aren't really careful FYI - Glenn Frey, who was one of the founding members has passed and Country singer Vince Gill, who is an amazing tenor and guitar player has stepped in to cover Glenn's place in the band. Yes, the Eagles are still touring.. not bad for a band that started in 1971

Yup...The Eagles explored blue-eyed soul and disco on this one. It was a great song. I'm so glad that you liked it. I remember its debut about when I was about 12 yrs. old. This is one of the few songs from that time period that has aged well. I love what you're doing, and keep doing it!

This song sounds good the first time or the 100th time you hear it. Absolutely beautiful harmony, Timothy B Schmitt has a soothing soulful voice.

This is one of the most romantic songs ever! I love The Eagles. Take It Easy is my theme song! Glen Frey, Don Heanly ... but this is one of their best, featuring Timothy B. Schmidt! Great vocals!

Try "Timothy" written by Rupert Holmes. He discovered The Buoys and talked Scepter Records into signing them for a one single record contract. But the label would not promote the single, so, Rupert Holmes(the pina colada song guy),wrote a song about cannibalism and even played piano on the track. Three friends trapped in a mine cave in, two of which ate one of the friends before being rescued. Radio stations tried to ban the record, but "Timothy" proved to be a success for the Buoys. It reached the U.S. Billboard Top 40 chart on April 17, 1971, where it remained on the chart for eight weeks and peaked at #17. On the U.S. Cash Box Top 100, it spent two weeks at #13. In Canada, the song reached #9. "Timothy" became the Buoys' best known song and their only song to chart on Billboard. Proving no publicity is bad publicity.

It's called Music... Those are musical instruments, It takes real talent to play them. That is called harmony, It takes talent to produce it.

Just as Timothy B. Schmidt joined the band and recorded this great song the band took a decade and a half or more hiatus before coming back together. They could have done so much more though they did have some nice ones when they finally reunited!
