    Most of the scenes are from the regular anime itself, a fair few are from the movies, and there's also some that are from flashback scenes that are reanimated through the years. And yeaaaa we do get to visit almost all of these places in the anime. 😊😊😊😊😊

    One Piece isn't just a story about Pirates, Marines, and a treasure . . . It's of this HUGE world that makes Earth puny. It's about the people, their philosophies , their cultures, their passions, the history of this world; and the dreams. Truly a story that can be placed up there with the Greatest... Odyssey, Lord of the Rings, Wheel of Time, to name a few. Oda is a master of storytellers. Be observant, for he is a boss at foreshadowing and hiding little clues in the wording and art. Enjoy your adventure with the Straw Hat Pirates.

    True, even though finding the One Piece is technically the main plot, most of the time we don't even remember or think about it since we get so invested in the story of the island or city they're currently exploring

    Fun fact: the original one piece pilot manga AND the name of the 1st chapter is Romance Dawn, which is meant to convey the spirit of the Romance of adventure instead of romantic relationships! While the One Piece treasure is confirmed to be a real treasure & not just "the friends you make along the way", the journey really is one of the best parts of the series

    Fun fact: one piece has more 1000 named characters. Also the great thing about one piece is that not only it’s a wholesome funny anime but delves in dark subjects. Most people won’t believe this but one piece is a political show that you will see as you progress in the show. The mangaka oda I think he is a history lover so he takes a lot of inspiration from the real world and embellish on it that becomes its own thing.

    One of the cool things about One Piece is that despite having that many characters, they're kinda easy to remember, even if you're bad at remembering names. You'll just naturally pick up who is whom if you're paying any attention. It's so good!

    The show doesn’t start as high quality as you see it in this video because the show started back in 1999, however, it does eventually reach this level of quality and you get to witness that evolution as you watch the show. Also, about two weeks ago from this time, it was just announced that a remake of the Blue East saga-pretty much what you just saw in the live action-is currently being worked on to deliver the start of the series with high quality animation.

    About what you said about art and colors, Well besides the art/animation quality improving over time since the anime is so long, in the 2nd half of One Piece they start slightly changing the art style to fit the theming of the arc's location. **small example below** , But also this video uses clips from not just the TV anime but from 16 movies and movie remakes of arcs for theaters, so different animators and style's. Yeah u dont have to go back and look back at the video, but Ussop was in that clip of the crew u stopped to look at, he was in the back between zoro and luffy :P they visit a japanese inspired country where in that arc they changed line art to start bigger on the edge then get thinner instead of being even length and its rough so it looks like ink brush strokes from a ink japanese painting.

    In episode 2 of the live action, Nami draws the globe with the 4 seas separated by the Grand Line (from west to east) and the Red Line (from North to South). So the 2 Lines intersect in 2 places and the Grand Line is thus cut into two parts, the second being called New World which is even more difficult to reach than the first part because you must take the first to reach the second. And the first is quite dangerous, which means that few reach the second, which is even more dangerous. But you'll see, it's explained gradually in the anime. Have a nice journey. 😊

    The OP world is supposedly 10 times the size of earth with a single band of land encircling it northwest to southeast (Red Line) and the Grand Line is basically like the equator going northeast to southwest. Draw a circle the then draw an "X" from NW to SE and NE to SW, The top wedge is the North blue, bottom South Blue. The wedge on the right is the East Blue and the left the West Blur. Every thing on either side of the Red Line are vast oceans with hundreds upon hundreds upon hundreds of islands large and small.

    You said you hadn't heard of the second half of the grand line, but that's not quite true. It just didn't click when you heard from Nami in the live action. She said that the Redline circumvents the globe, and the grand line crosses it. That means that the Redline, the massive continent that circles the globe, essentially cuts the Grand Line into two halves.

    Your comparison of The new world to the dark continent was very pertinent actually. The Dark continent was inspired by the gourmet world of Toriko, which was in turn inspired heavily by One Piece and DBZ, so it's neat that you picked up the similarity. As for the Grandline, it is divided into paradise and the new world. Pirates with ambition head into the grandline, but only the strongest of the strong get into the new world. Most of the pirates who got there ended up calling the first half of grandline paradise, due to how relatively peaceful it was.

  • @aohige
    @aohige6 ай бұрын

    Generally, but not always, the "New World" is a fictional reference to the Americas and "Dark Continent" is a reference to Africa. In their respective world of course. In some cases, like Magi for example, they are even direct correlations.

    One pieces world is amazing. Oda has crafted a world so deep and wide that he has effortlessly fit his crazy ideas in. Somehow he made an absurdist world that makes sense XD be advised the manga and anime is very much an absurdist world, tinged with the real-world evils of humanity. but constantly feeding you hope in the form of the good of humanity.

    In the live action Nami drew a quick map of the world. Basically there's a band around one axis of the world that is all land and another around the other axis (sort of makes an X around the planet - one is land and the other is the ocean called the Grand Line). The land part splits the Grand Line into two pieces - the first and second halves. So when they talk about the New World, they're talking about the second half. To get to either parts of the Grand Line is pretty difficult for reasons that will be explained in the story, but just know that the world is split into 4 areas (north blue, south blue, east blue and west blue) with the Red Line (the band of land) and the Grand Line causing the split. (X)

    first thing to mention, they also show a lot from the OP Movies, so a lot of the art style differences comes from that and yo, dont worry about comparing things to one piece even when one piece is older, in such media you never really know who got inspired by who, so it might might still apply, just in the opposite way :D and yes i agree, the dark continent is a fairly good comparison, except the new world is somewhat known and inhabited, its just really the WHOLE oceans arent fully explored so there is an unknown amount of islands that nobody except Roger ever stepped foot on. 9:10 sadly you either didnt catch it or dont know about it, but that tiger is basically designed after a Displacer Beast from DnD :D

New fans may be tempted, but please refrain from watching Openings.
