    I bought my 300gt vr4 for 3 grand and it just "needed a timing belt". Three years and $15,000 later, it works. Timing belt snapped while the car was moving so every exhaust valve was bent and nicked up the cylinder wall in the engine. I hope your car is running at this point. Good Luck

    I own a 92 Dodge Stealth RT DOHC AUOTO NA since december 1999 had once in 2000 a no ignition issue, ignition fuze was burnt, easy fix, car TCM went bad sometime between 2001 and 2007 when storaged in Mexico, drove back to Vegas via San Antonio in limp mode(i had no clue TCM was not working) I replaced with a used TCM with different PN it did work for 4 years, one day while driving I heard a thumb noise from the transmission, first thought I had the TCM again... tried diferent used TCMs from Ebay none worked. Again storaged the vehicle and bought a 1998 astro to get around from 2016 to 2022 the car wasnt driven, just started engine every few weeks, I looked more closely and found a wire cut that connects the Transmission to the module, spliced and have my 92 staelth running and shifting as it should. A weak cable got cut due to engine vibration and other mechanics that worked in it before. Now am replacing both cylinder heads with a pair am restoring, am painting the whole car too. Valve seals made my car to smoke. My astro pigtail connector to ignition coil was also in good shape but loose contact with the coil when transmission shifted from 2 to 3rd and killed the spark, took me months to figure that one out. I believe your car has a easy to fix issue but is hidden somewhere within the wire harness

    Alot of times when timing jumps you bend the valves because of the motor design. So a motor swap may be needed kr top end rebuild

    Have you checked your compression ? Check Behind the gear on the end of the crank, there's a metal timing plate, it's spins through the crank sensor, I've had one come lose, no start 😉

    Have you fixed this yet? Was it timing related, either spark timing (leads in the wrong order on the coils) or cam timing. because I hear it trying to fire but back into the intake. Ive Just done a Cambelt on one of these, Im a mechanic from New Zealand our are called Mitsubishi GTO are RHD and most are imports from Japan. Anyway I know the cambelt on these are very difficult, Like top tier pain in the ass, so I wouldn't blame you if you have at a tooth or 2 out. Also remember to tension the cambelt tensioner before you pull the pin on the hydraulic tensioner or you will have too much slack in the belt. anyway hope this helps

    I know you are a smart man. Just from the angle of the photograph, the timing belt looks like the tensioner isn't tied enough. Sorry, don't mean to point out things mine. I had a heck of a time getting a tight enough. I had to buy. But mitsubishi timing belt tool. Good luck I bought mine not running. It took me 2 months. There was a broken wire. On the choke, good luck again.

    My timing belt kept warning to slip one too I have noticed on many KZread videos. These carbs have a difficult time starting. My car starts in a 1/2 a second. After you turn the key, it doesn't even crank over. It just Lights up and starts. They have in the fuel rail. It holds the pressure. So what fires write up when I did my timing? Build the first time it cranked and cranked and cranked and didn't wanna start. It did start it, just didn't want to. And it was because the timing but was loose. Anyway, good luck.

  • @PhilWithSuper

    @PhilWithSuper

    I believe it does, but since I'm getting spark and fuel, I don't think that's what's stopping it from running, since usually both of those are cut when the alarm system is enabled

    @@PhilWithSuper on mine it the alarm intermittently failed and caused cut outs randomly, but I also rewarched ur video and I know that you had switched coil packs to see if the miss fire moved , I have also found with my car that I couldn't do that either and when I replaced the coil packs I had to replace both at the same time the dealership advised that just replacing on side of the coil packs can still cause misfire issue and that it best to replace both at the same time iam not saying that's ur issue or it has to be done that way but when I did replace both at once it help my issue It Def seems like a spark issue more than anything since it wants to start but won't obviously 2 cylinders are not firing and they are also know for needing extra grounding on the motor aswell I look forward to what you find out

    Honestly, the 6g72 is just as good as a 2jz up to about 600 hp. Given you have a 94 engine it's not worth it unless you're going to go insane with the build. I don't even think a 2jz would fit in that bay without converting to rwd and chopping up the firewall drastically

    Just by the way the engine is turning over the timing is not right. Recheck all your marks again but you might be 180 offf

  • @PhilWithSuper

    @PhilWithSuper

    Жыл бұрын

    I'll give it a look, but the coils send a redundant spark, so even if it's off 180 it would still spark, but definitely something to check again
