I too am planning to upgrade to the Lone Ranger tank - for the same reasons you've mentioned. With a petrol 80 Series, I really need it. Particularly when I plan to tackle the Simpson Desert next year. You boys are just killing it with brilliant episodes after episodes. Keep 'em coming. 👍👍

This is exactly the episode I have been wanting. I have been putting off getting a long range tank purely because I was worried it wouldn’t fit with my cruiser company rear bar without modifications thanks heaps boys

Great video. I’ve been eyeing off a Long Ranger for my Prado 150, especially as I’m planning to tackle the Canning one day, it’d be nice to have more than 150L of diesel at my disposal.

Did you have to take out a mortage to fill your long range tank?

Definitely worth long range tanks had a bad experience with other tanks and definitely the welds can let go especially on corrugated roads .. patty how you doing with the weight did you do a GVM upgrade with all your gears and fuel it adds up fast 😅

MrFunnel make great funnels that actually separate water & dirt out of your diesel fuel. I use one as I've been getting fine & not so fine brass glitter in my ATV petrol from the bowser nozzle or pump at the servo & wanted to filter it out before anymore went into my new fuel tank.

Great vid Would be good to know the net weight addition with empty tanks ? New tank looks heavy but there was a bit of weight in what you removed. Can you weigh what you removed and long ranger should know the weight of their new tank ?

their tank is around 25kg, i recon i removed maybe 20kg worth of stuff with the old tank and wheel mounting

Always a good day when you fellas are on. But I'm interested in knowing the weight of your 80 when you are loaded up and going for a trip. Ie, everything you would take for say 2 weeks camping/touring?

Its 111 litres more. About 95 kg. Heck, any stock 4 x 4 can carry that! You think that 'cruiser with it's upgraded suspension would notice?

I have an LRA 175 litre tank in my 200, total 265 litres, the guage wont move for about 400 kms from full. see what happens when you eventually fill it your self.
