That was a clanger saying not just the dial is made of stainless steel off the cuff, but actually stating it is made from the same as the case, while showing a picture of the dial with 'Ag925' marked on it.
.925 is Stirling Silver, not stainless. Beautiful watch.
I do love the watch; It was love at first sight for me. The 6K+ was too rich for me and maybe for others too.
I saw one at my local AD. The strap looked like it had been tried on a couple of dozen times. I think it will be one of those watches everyone expects to become a rare collectors piece but never really does.

Totally agree, much as I love it, the fact it was easy to get hold of in its limited window and 6k is expensive anyway don’t see any upside ceiling on this

@@davidb9531 For those that can afford it, they will buy this watch without hesitation. It will become a collectors grail watch, but the real problem is those who just want to flip this for profit, thus denying the serious hobbyists a chance to buy. The price will go up.
@davidb9531

@@JamesAlexander14 I can’t see the price of this going up till really long term maybe, ADs I’ve been into have had them in their windows for loooong, it’s a very niche piece and sometimes what us hobbbyists think will be collectibles sometimes aren’t. As an example the Longines Sector (not limited numbers or run I know) is a very well respected watch in all senses but second hand loses a huge chunk, I managed to pick one up for £900 and Goldsmiths sell it for 2k

@@davidb9531 Longines never do well on the secondary market whereas there are a few Omega watches that have been sought after and appreciated. Omega is a tier above Longines.

Longines never do well in secondary market, a blanket statement that clearly doesn’t go back to vintage Longines prior to swatch but anyhow. The omega is a 6k watch clearly it’s higher tier than the Longines thanks for teaching me this, also at 6k this particular Omega has very little upside I would say
It’s unfortunately more expensive than I feel it should be, but in all honesty I feelthe same about the vast majority of luxury watches.
This watch is such a beauty. I´ve seen it live a few weeks ago at my Omega AD. I bought on this day my Seamaster Pro 300m diver, because that´s the watch I fell in love with. Wristcheck today: Tudor BB GMT on a navy blue natostrap with a thin red line.
absolutely amazing watch. I saw it in person and it has so much class
Got this as a gift, I'm not into vintage watches or sector dials or Omegas, but it's growing onto me😂 just ordered the mesh from Omega for more daily wear, the bracelet cost more than most of my watches lol
Wearing the BB925… finally got it back after being in for 7 months servicing after owning for only 1mo… was shocked to have seen it go so quickly, but glad to have it back!
Great video!! I absolutely love this watch and I'm not surprised... 💯💯😍
Omega Railmaster today. Absolutely love the all brushed case and bracelet. My BB36 just picks up scratches every time I wear it so the Railmaster gets the most wrist time.
Very beautiful watch! Hope Omega makes a re-edition of the 32mm 1940s Ref. 2292 RAF /HS8 cal. 30T2CS! Thanks for the video!
£6k for this watch was just way too much. The Longines Heritage 1945 is a pretty good substitute at about a quarter of the price.
@theaussiewhinger

I don't disagree with you on the Longines being a good alternative for a lot less money. I have a soft spot for Longines and they are an incredible brand as well. But then, you could probably say the same for a Hydroconquest vs a Seamaster, or an Avigation BigEye vs a Speedmaster. Omega is a tier above with higher quality in the finer details and so the price is accordingly higher for this watch to match the rest of their catalogue.

Omega world timer today on the blue rubber strap. I really like the CK849. The finishing on the movement is one of their best.
Wristcheck- LIV Rebel GMT (cobalt)with striped Nato band. This is a spectacular omega, I personally would prefer a vintage with weathered dial to this one. Thanks for the review🙌 subbed

Hi Harrison - a few corrections… The picture of the ‘original’ you showed of the original CK859 wasn’t correct. The original was pretty much exactly the same as the current one but with crosshairs and (yours wasn’t) and radial numbering rather than vertical. Also ag925 is 92.5% pure, sterling silver not stainless steel. Also I’m really not sure this is a watch to swim with. I bought this watch through CH and am delighted with it. Anyway sorry to be a pedant! Like your new’ish format.
I have to say, this set it really nice 👌
I suspect most who bought this watch did so to hold and love, i can't see it ever being a hype price commanding big wedge. I'm one of those who jumped on it immediately, unless I seriously get into financial difficulty ill never be selling it.
Wearing a Winfield mt1, field/adventure watch. Great information
Nice Amiga!
The Longines equivalent of this watch, that has a second dial, has a better quality dial. It has laid dial elements is appears more elegant. The Longines version is half the price of the Omega so it makes more sense. The Omega isn’t going to be collectors items.
Shame that a vintage inspired watch like this, couldn't be 37mm and 9mm thick... especially given that it's a manual wind. One thing that bugs be about modern Omega is how tall most models sit on the wrist (for me anyway)....beautiful watch though 100%

I've finally decided that I'm never going to be gentle with my watches. I'm now 67 and my watches take as many knocks and dings as when in was in my early 20s. The only difference now is that I wear automatic instead of quartz.
Wristcheck - Seiko SARB 033. Cheers!
Beautiful watch especially the size at 39mm my sweet spot 😍 but at 6k just too much for what its worth 🤔 ... Meet up in Edinburgh? Anychance to meet up in Glasgow 🤣🤣🤣 Wearing the Seiko 5 GMT black/Grey 😆
I don’t blame them it looks crap, you don’t buy watches to collect you buy them primary to tell the time and secondary because you like them, it will never fetch a fortune its too small
Maybe Omega would rather concentrate on vintage 57 trilogy watches. It’s expensive for what it is at £5800. I’ve just purchased a Railmaster( pre-owned) and I think that’s a better watch new or pre-owned than this one. But it’s down to personal opinion at the end of the day.
This watch may (many discontinued “vintages” are languishing in delusional purgatory) go up in price. But watches are never overpriced. They are just overpaid.
Am I the only one who thinks the hour hand is too long? It should stop at the circle a mm or two inwards.
Today's watch is an Omega Speedmaster Racing with a blue dial.
The dial is made of silver not stainless steel

Not sure why this is such a shock. It's not one of Omega's more well known models and won't have the same appeal as many of their other lines. Whether it will be a collectors item or not- I'm unsure, especially at that price, time will tell.
The problem is you can buy original vintage Omegas just like this for under £1,000 So why pay for this !!

Do you know nothing. The 1939 watch is a wrist watch and .925 is sterling silver dial. The case is stainless.
This is one of those watches that's nice on paper but sucks in real life. This watch's retail price is impossible for Omega to justify. I've talked to several Omega AD's and Boutiques about this piece and they all say that this piece was a VERY hard seller. That's why Omega chopped it.

So stupid to compare a manual car to a manual watch. You never forget how to drive your manual car because it becomes second nature. l'm sure you've forget to wind up your manual watch, besides it's a pain in the backside. Where as,you put your automatic watch on and you don't have to worry about it.
