I really appreciated how Anna Huang advertised King of Wrath. She called it “dislike to love” which is such an important distinction I wish more authors would make. Not everything that isn’t insta-love is “enemies to lovers”!!!!

I personally wouldn't even say that everything which is true 'hate-to-love' is necessarily actually all-out ' "enemies"-to-lovers ' either really-but maybe that's just me, getting weirdly/ excessively/ specific in my distinctions there, or something(?).🤔😅 🤷‍♀️ 😁 Lol 🤣

Just finished Heartless, it was really really good, I loved the interaction between Willa and Luke so adorable. The banter was also making me laugh hard. Thank you.

Off topic but i NEED your opinion on icebreaker by hannah grace. It has good mental health rep (therapy is normalized), the two leads actually communicate about their feelings, and its a reverse grumpy sunshine that doesn't feel cliché in a bad way. also the spice is

OOOH YES i wanna hear her thoughts on this too!! i loved it so much, genuinely one of my all time favorites. a few people don't like it tho, they say there were too many characters & it's a little unnecessary & that the fact that there's absolutely no plot makes the pacing of the book kinda messy. but i think that's bcz it's a more character driven book & i loved that aspect of it & the too many characters thing was also one of my fav aspects, bcz it set up rlly well for the rest of the series & there was found family 🫶🏻

I really wanted to like it (hockey romances are fav) but it felt so extremely. Mediocre to me 😭 also I think a big part for me personally as some one who has struggled with disorder eating it was borderline triggering if I wasn’t in such a good place mentally it would’ve been an issue so that could also be affecting my opinion

I also really really loved Elsie Silver’s and Kandi Steiner’s books. Elsie and Kandi writing 5 star books that release within the same week of each other 3 books in a row? Elite. The way they write such immaculate stories that make me swoon, cry, scream, and root for the characters?? Even though I don’t usually like that ending trope, Elsie made me rethink it. 55555/5 freaking stars✨ Listening to you gush is making me want to buy it (read on KU, undecided if I want regular or special cover) and reread it. I can’t remember if you like hockey romances but if you do, Kandi has been thinking about writing some. She’s posted on her stories about it a few times and I’m pretty sure it’s going to be written.

Heartless is the best new release I have read all year hands down. I loved it!

I also gave King of Wrath 4 stars and agree with all of your points. I am really excited to see where Ana Huang‘s books will go from here - I feel like her writing style really is becoming more sophisticated and is on an upwards trajectory. I have a feeling I might really love the next book in the series. After not super enjoying the Twisted series, I‘m positively surprised by this first installment in this new series.

Usually the main character names just kind of fly over my head, but like. Okay, so I work at a doggy daycare, right? Every time you said Willa I just pictured the playful 2 year old black lab we have doing her head tilt waiting for me to throw the ball and my brain could just not accept Willa as a human name 🙃🐶
