@@chandlerainsley I'm about 25% into it r/n, and so far... while there are a few teensy-tiny little knitpicky just-me//preference things I could criticize about it, if I was really fishing for something to complain about; you were absolutely not wrong about their relationship and the way he treats her, and I am kinda *_living_* for it at the moment-Thank you so much[ for calling my attention to this book], this was exactly the right read for me just now! I'm really looking forward to continuing it and seeing how it ends!!! 🤍💜🤍 (Also, the subtle meta!humor keeps genuinely making me chuckle.^-^)

Did you read “A False Start”? It was part of the series Elsie Silver wrote before the flawless series and I think it’s probably similar to powerless from listening to your thoughts about it. I really loved it!

I am so glad you loved In A Jam cause that's always one I rec to people! Kate Canterbary has so many good books! She has quite an extensive and interwoven backlist and I've barely scratched the surface 😆 I recommend The Worst Guy for an enemies to lovers plot or Before Girl for a story where the heroine is incredibly independent and powerful and the hero is determined to worship the ground she walks on

As another commenter pointed out -- some of Kate Canterbary's earlier books include descriptions of eating disorders and alcohol abuse. There are moments in The Worst Guy where the heroine describes some disordered eating habits and ED recovery. I don't remember either AA or ED being discussed in Before Girl but I could be wrong so definitely check on those things before diving in.

I have read a good amount of Kate Canterbury's backlist. She's a great author and I LOVED "The Worst Guy" it was one of my favorite books I read last year (of over 300) but I have to warn anyone who reads her earlier stuff particularly the Walsh series that there is a LOT of disordered eating and alcohol abuse discussed as normal coping mechanisms and it really threw me so for someone unprepared or maybe struggling with eating disorders or alcohol addiction those might not be the books for you. In a Jam was one of her better ones I've read but I'm still pushing the worst guy to anyone who will listen. It does involve discussions of ED as well but the heroine is someone who has been in recovery for a very long time but still struggles with the long term health effects of her eating disorder just FYI

k 2 things: do I have to read the first book in the mile high series? 2. um also I’m a completionist who can’t behind a major asshole and also has some body issues (mentioning bcus i’m familiar with the first book) but the way you talked about the second book has me all 🥰 I’m glad you had 2 amazing reads! You’re right, KU has truly been an amazing platform, despite some flaws.

I’m DYING to have you read the addicted/Calloway sisters series. I would pay money to see that reading vlog 😩

i have the same issue with powerless! i’m fairly certain it’s because elsie silver’s chestnut springs series is being traditionally published in the UK and commonwealth (im in Aus), so we can’t read on KU or get the OG paperbacks 🥲

She sold the rights for UK, Commonwealth & EU to Piatkus I think which is why the books will not be available in KU here anymore. I think in UK they still will be for a while, but in her latest Insta she mentioned that they won‘t be in EU countries. I was also confused on Friday when it came out and kept refreshing Amazon the whole day before caving and buying it haha

I will never understand the 'fake dating to appear like a family man to boss' -plot. Especially in a sports romance. The idea that a manager/owner would bench/sack/whatever a star athlete for not having a permanent partner, causing definite harm to their team... it just sounds so unbelievable and somehow "American" that I loose interest in the whole story.
