I am in Christian family who participate to celebrate Hindu festivals, Dashain, Tihar with my relatives. So do they to celebrate Christmas with us. We also accompany in times of Kirati rituals. I got married in Church and did my reception with Limbu Chyabrung baja and Dhan Naach. If there is love, you will always find the way to peace. We will always look after each other! 🤍

And I have Christian friends who are very verbal about how our festivals are sins and act like if one color of holi festival gets on their body they will be damned to hell by their jealous god. Looks like you guys are a little confused, but you've got the right spirit! Syncretism is the way brother ;)

@@laoxianmodi Eh I agree, there's nothing of value in abrahamic beliefs that I'm interested in or think anyone should be interested in, but it's better for the world if christians and muslims let go of their fundamentalism and adopt syncretism. Santana dharma is already very well rounded and doesn't need to create inclusive space for any such hateful religions like Christianity and Islam. Can't argue with that :)
So happy to see the church there... May God bless that village and the people living there. Bravo brother!!!

The religious global politics has no doubt increased in Nepal after 2006. Interestingly, an ethno/identity based divide was seemingly planned, and there were even plans for 45 states. That was later scrapped to 7 states, by just altering slightly, the previously existent 5 " Developmental Regions". Someone said it right, Religion: Politics 101, from medieval times.

We all know how that "agenda" was muscled in at the last moment, by a non- Member of Parliament at that time. The "International players" played it right, I will give that to them, under the " garb of democracy". Come today, few players, amongst them, are willing to pivot from that decision. Hillarious! Well, I guess, the moto was, for this specific region to always be in turmoil, geo-politically speaking.

@@JackTorr Buddhists and Hindus never do what missionaries do. Missionaries always search for such types of videos because they target poor and illiterate people. If you look at South Asia and Southeast Asia, except for Muslim countries, they focus on other Hindu and Buddhist countries (mostly because they are highly secular and respect all other religions). My point is, if someone wants to convert to another religion, it's their choice. However, what these missionaries do is brainwashing and spreading hate to others. The culture you are talking about will be destroyed by them in those areas. Maybe you are not like those people, but it is a harsh reality. Anyway, don't dwell on these matters and enjoy your trip.
