As an Australian, in Melbourne, I would be putting the air con on at 25+c. Not sure what you are on about, but 43c and not turning the air con on? You clearly don't live here and assume things. And if you were living in the HOT Parts of Australia where it does get HOT very often, you don't venture out to get heatstroke because its fun... We seek shade and normal things like that.

@@papabear9481 ok, but I just asked for a country/state... but still thanks for the information.
3 things: 1) Any Canadian who's ever shoveled snow would tell you -15 C is too warm to be wearing a bunch of winter gear; and 2) An igloo's entrance is typically met with a drop in elevation at the entrance (think a small pit) which catches cool air and provides shelter from wind, and must contain an elevated area inside that gets you near the roof where the warmer air is (fun fact, your body is what heats up an igloo); 3) Your body heat will naturally cause the inside to form an ice layer wich will seal the gaps naturally, no need for a slush mortar. Anyway hope this helps. (Of course I know this isn't a long term structure, whereas my tips 2 & 3 are most practical in a long term structure)

It would be a potential problem for carbon monoxide if he intends to build a fire with a lower and longer entrance. He would need fresh air coming in. It would make it warmer though.
I love this. You basically just lived one of my childhood dreams. Fort in the woods made from sticks was my number 1 childhood dream. They never turned out well even though I tried to build them all the time.
In Scandinavia, they spread a layer of evergreen boughs on the floor and lay a carpet over that, then build a small entranceway out of wood with a peaked roof and a little door. The latter is saved from year to year.

He and a friend played in it, no heat source, but dug in-the snow enough to put in sleeping bags, a tarp base and blankets under sleeping bags. I was up all night worrying, but they slept in and had a great time!

You are totally amazing! I would say though, in your igloo you could do with a bar, and of course a jacuzzi bath!
Love it! I used to build igloo's in North Idaho and found it much easier to mark out a big circle in the snow then pile all the surrounding snow on top and pack it solid as you go. Before you know it you have a solid dome that you can then dig out into an igloo (even if you have to wheelbarrow in some extra materials from the neighbors yard;) ❄️

You can't make an igloo that way, but you can make a Quinzhee ;) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quinzhee
wow, very beautifully built!! May I know if the wood stove will eventually melt the igloo?
This was awesome. I chuckled when I saw the TV on the ice table
I can just see the HOA having a collective gasp. A couple of pointers from when we did it (on a much smaller scale) under the supervision of a guy from Ungava: if you build a spiral (so you start with thin, but slightly angled bricks of snow) then the compressive forces as the snow settles will actually reinforce the iglou. Build a platform (of snow if you don't want to do earthmoving) off the ground to get the living quarters closer to the roof where it's warmer. And have a long (at least 3 metres) tunnel to get in, that should ideally be below ground, in order to stop heat escaping out the doorway. Final advice: get yourself a loved one to share it with you, body heat will bring that internal temperature up past 3º.

We need more inspiration and creation in building for a better future. ❤❤❤ I support anyone whos opting for offgrid and self sustainability❤❤❤❤❤🙏
Tiny recommendation... mention the temperature units when you give the stats. When you said 3 degrees inside with a fire, I was wondering why your igloo is so much colder than my 34 degree-interior igloo. I scrolled back and confirmed the tiny "C" on your digital thermometer. Great build. I've been living in my powder-built igloo the last week (we don't have the luxury of snow blocks here)

I'd assume that if a video isn't from a US creator (or one of the 7 countries in the world that still use Fahrenheit as their main temperature unit) that any temperatures given are in degrees centigrade.
Great job. But I really liked it a lot more before the TV. Should have tossed the candle holder and made one of snow! Made the tv out of snow! And built a little door or use a snow cube so you don’t lose your heat. You can thatch one too. Must have been fun to build-enjoy your creation 💕👍🏽
