To stop mobs spawning, you could place lime green carpet over the slime blocks, it still works as a trampoline.

The long paragraph above me is partially right! It is a hugely privileged job and I'm definitely not struggling to keep up. This is a huge blessing. I upload every week and stream about twice a week. I added it up recently its about 50-60h work week split across 7 days as I usually don't take a full day off unless its vacation. Easy to fully write, record, edit, thumbnail and market in that timespan, for one episode a week! Usually some of those hours are for meetings (smps, yt, partners, etc). But! I am currently adding to my schedule, so I'll be getting an editor for these skyblock videos, and taking on more recording hoping to reach 5-6 vids a month instead of the current 4 :D

I have an idea to make it even safer (even if it involves a lot of farming) - fill the area underneath the slime blocks with hay. That means that if she accidentally breaks some slime on the way down, or lands inbetween the slime blocks and they don't properly bounce, hopefully a lot of the fall damage will be mitigated.

Watching dearest Gem yeet her body off the edge over and over made me cringe every time, even though I knew she was safe

Hmmmmm... Seems no one seems to have told Gem yet that if she incorrectly lands on the in between of slime, that's still going to incur HUGE fall damage? XD Nice idea nevertheless. :D

That doesn't take effect when 2 slime blocks are next to each other right? But yeah, that 3x3 slime drop had me worried. I also know that moving when bouncing on slime blocks can be glitchy and cause damage. A slime trampoline is a nice idea, and does look great! But my non-aesthetic self would prefer a waterpool for saftey.

@@John-Smlth I remember while playing on console where the end is a limited size and you cant just bridge out to the end islands from the main island. Each different portal you take, takes you to a different area with a specific set area with invisible boundaries. Anyway I did that in one of my portal areas after I went through it, took out all the shulkers and then took down the city. I made a water tray at void level so if I fell while dismantling the entire island so I could build a crazy end base and endermen farm, I'd be alright. Never even considered slime, just went straight to water lol.

this is one of the most odd but amazing ideas i’ve ever seen, it’s so terrifying watching you leap off but i think i might just have to try this for myself when i next play skyblock 😭 it looks so fun and whimsical!

If you ever need more lava get a mason villager they can trade dripstone blocks

Just if you want to, you could put a few flowers on the grassy part, maybe a couple skeps, to lure the bees onto land and out of the void. Not for any particular purpose, just safe bees.

Watching these skyblock episodes by fWhip and Gem have inspired me so much to play Minecraft again

Void trampoline! That looks so fun! I love the void bees, and the massive amounts of glow squids and slimes that spawn down there, it's so cool how the way the game spawns stuff means that the big scary death place is also kind of where the most life comes from! Also, that dramatic music when you went in the boats with the piglins, I thought for a moment that that was it!! And I love that small slimes do no damage, their hostile behaviour suddenly becomes super cute!

I love how the trampoline looks, it feels like a big lilly pad in the middle of the void!!

Gem!! you could cover the trampoline with carpet, but also make some smaller trampolines at different heights and cover them all with different coloured carpets 😍😍 then you’d have a giant trampoline and some mini bounce pads 🤣

Another skyblock series I watched decided to build an entire ocean below their island. Once you build the foundation and walls, flooding it is pretty easy and it works just as well as drop protection. Not as *fun* as a trampoline, but can double as a massive fish tank too. Also easy to expand as you add more islands. If you wanted, you could even build an ocean around your trampoline to serve as a safety net for any extensions or extra islands you make.

@@Alice-jq6rd It's called "Skyblock Grassroots" from a very small channel called "WhiteStoneJazz". To give you an idea, I found this series because it was recommended by ilmango as one of the inspirations for his current skyblock world. It's been on a hiatus for quite a while now, but I messaged the creator a few weeks ago and he said he was still slowly working on it but the ocean was taking a very long time.

Since passive mobs seem to spawn better in the base of the void then perhaps make a ranch and bee farm area around the great trampoline? And, hopefully, it wont be too long before Stewart and Emotional Support Chicken have more friends!

Amazing video and project, Gem! As a matter of fact, I also once made a trampoline in a past creative Minecraft world. I considered it my favorite little project for a while. It was much smaller and way less artistic compared to yours, its only specialty was that it was powered by simple redstone (with pistons and an infinite Redstone signal), so that it launched you up into the air without you having to jump on it from far up. It was also hella noisy! 😂 So yeah, don‘t know if this is an idea or not in the future!

maybe you could make custome floating islands connected with bridges? I think that would be a nice thing for the void

Very fun idea! I should build one on my skyblock worlds too! I think it would be cool to have that safety net around the whole island, including smaller satellite islands for the tree chopping area, mob farm etc Oh and if you put the glow stone lights under the slime it should make for a really nice effect, I think

I just watched the playlist of this series last night! I feel like I manifested this episode.

When you expand you should add little half moons to make your trampoline look like a flower. And instead of magenta and dark oak, you could use cyan and birch or purple and spruce or aomething! It would be mega cool.

slime blocks are good too, because they stop you from falling too hard, and if you hold jump as you're falling onto it, you don't bounce and still don't take damage.
