There is no real way to fail from what I understand? Build too many houses? House burning event burns your houses. Have too much food? Your people die of hunger making you have more food. Have too many people but not enough housing? Vagrant plague kills the people opening spots for housing. Click too much? Anarchy sets food and population back. The crisis simply counteract the excess and set your back

you didnt need to do star quests to research next things. those are extra hero rewards for doing the quests.

@@major8625 yep. It looks like you need to do those quests to unlock next researchs. Same with merge system. They put selling and merging heroes to the same place. It is a bad design imo.

To be fair, that is poor UI design, but that was quite funny.

tip: save up ability charges for combat purposes. Generally, you should only use them for non-combat purposes when you've got more than about 8 saved up, except for the marketplace ability which you should use when your other abilities are full. Once you unlock the marketplace you can use that to buy grain shipments, which can be used to either panic-solve your foood situation or forcibly fuel growth. tips for combat: 1. pick heros that improve your base damage and pike/archer etc damage (or have a bunch you can swap to that improve base damage even if their economic use is meh); fort damage boosting is merely a nice bonus, not a primarily helpful thing. 2. Early game, let your instant-wood ability pile up to about 8 charges before doing things that can potentially trigger events unless you're bored, or unless you're sure it'll be a low level event you can handle without a charge. Use it to replenish your combat units during combat if you run out. 3. Later, you'll unlock an ability to increase the damage of an attack by 3x, which is huge and can let you beat events way out of your nominal weight class. Use it on your actual attack units, not the emergency fist attack. BUT, when you have the meta-ability that lets you get two uses out of another ability, use that, THEN the attack ability, THEN attack. 4. there's two strategies you can use with forts: one is to panic-dump all your forts at the start of the event to buy time before anything bad happens, letting you make more precise clicks during combat (e.g. to more reliably pull off three.) The other is to save using the forts to just before the REALLY bad outcomes, such as getting a hero corrupted.

i absolutely love the aesthetic of this game, i only know a few games that look similar, but i particularly love this one

This is surprisingly complex for a clicker game. I feel as the game progressed, the clicker aspect became less and less important and it basically evolved into a civilization sim which you could click to speed up progress.
