I have to tell you, I was wondering how they were going to do on the guitar solo on the first cover song...as it was playing in the background.. And you cut back just in time. Much respect to whatever artist covered that song because they nailed it. I'm sure that car gets all kinds of attention in Europe. I understand the money pit scenario I have a 76 Chevy Silverado stepside pickup. 454, flat top Pistons, cam, Holley intake, demon carb, cheap leaking headers, and a 4 speed. It's not that fast, but it's fun. Not sure it's available in Europe, but try copper seal for your header gasket. Either spray can or just in a tube, wipe down the cheapo gaskets and throw them on. It's still not as good as quality headers. But it will work for a couple months at a time. Right now my fun truck is down because it wiped off a cam lobe. Been sent down a rabbit hole of cam failure analysis, flat tappet cams need a specific oil, bad machine work, lifters produced improperly.....makes ya want to sell and do something else. Or swap in a ls instead

i will build al my furtur engine with solid lifter thats for sure these are old flat tappers luckily and defently need a fix for those headers its the worst sound 😅

I would rotate the engine a little bit at a time by bumping the starter with both valve covers off and watch to make sure all the lifters are moving the push rods. "Wiped lifter" was the first thing I thought. That metal in the oil could have come from the bottom of the lifter.

Nice car! Your wheels look nice! Good catch on the calipers too. I had the exact same thing happen, but I went through a quart of brake fluid trying to bleed the front brakes before I actually looked at it and saw why. Just didn't pay attention. I had a 4-speed that did that also. It was the adjustment of the shifter rods. If they aren't right it will cause the shifter to lock up like that. Weird how that rocker screw chewed up like that. Those look like Harland Sharp roller rockers. They make those near where I live. That looks like some beautiful countryside where you live.

@@Viktorrhansen That's for sure! Glad it didn't turn out to be that huge of a deal. I believe they drilled 'nearly' all of the forged cranks for pilot bushings and none of the cast ones (big blocks). I bought an A833 4 speed once and didn't check the trans. Someone cut off the part of the input shaft that went into the pilot bushing. Made the trans useless to me. A guy told me back in the day Chevy guys that raced would do that to use the transmissions in GMs.

Not sure how difficult it may be to find them or get them delivered to Denmark, but I've used those thick aluminum gaskets on cheap headers with decent success before. In the U.S. Summit caries a few brands. I've seen them on Amazon from brands I don't recognize too. By the way, did you boot some of your barn mates? You've got what looks like plenty of room for even more projects!

Oh, I see a problem here. The front tires are much to close to the fenders. You didn't use 8 inch wide wheels for the front, did you? It is lucky you didn't drive it. It will rub hard if you are turning the steering wheel and go over a bump. Maybe even crush the fender upwards.

Oh, I said that before I saw the end where you drove it and said they rubbed. Don't cut away the body or fenders. Just replace those front wheels. Or have them modified. You can try a tire like 205 75 15, but the rims are going to stretch them out nearly as far as the fat tires on it. We no longer have many skilled machinists who are affordable any more in the USA. We used to be able to get steel wheels widened or , in this case, narrowed at specialty shops. Or, you could get your 14 inch road wheels (the spoke wheels) changed to 15 inch. I realize you probably spent a lot of money on those wheels, especially if you had them made and sent from the US. They really don't look very good as they are. Partly because they are black and don't show up against the tire and partly because they are missing a small hub cap, trim ring, or full wheel cover. Sell the front wheels to someone that needs wide wheels for the back of a car. Just use your other wheels for now and order some 6, 6 1/2 or 7 inch wheels with the correct back spacing and factory hub size (hub centered). I can check one of my factory wheels for measurements. Used factory wheels are always hub centered but reproduction wheels are almost never.

@@Viktorrhansen That is really sad. You are so lucky to have fenders and wheels wells that are not rusted out. I guess the car must have came from the Southwest part of the USA. I googled 1973 Plymouth Satellite and there is no record of any being used in Nascar. The 71-71 Satellite was used, then the 73-74 Dodge Charger until they were aged out, then the 78 Dodge Magnum. The aerodynamics were not as good on the 73-74 Satellite as on the others. Road Runners were never used because the domed hood had bad aerodynamics compared to a flat Satellite hood. They did not cut, widen, or radius the fenders on those Nascar cars. The real race car look, whether it is stock car racing or especially drag racing is having a tire set far inboard from the fender. In the 1960's , 70,s and early 80's, when there was street racing in big cities like Detroit, "sleepers" were cars that tried to look like basic mostly unmodified cars from the factory, but had many improvements, and they were hidden as much as possible. Take a look at Jimmy Addison's super famous 1967 GTX called "the Silver Bullet." He modified the rear quarters (66-67 Plymouths had very small space there) but it was so subtle it has to be pointed out to even most Mopar guys the first time they see the car.
