Just use cornstarch. I don't use dry shampoo. I tried it while camping for a week in the mountains and hated it. I remember cornstarch being used for all kinds of things. I listened as a kid to my elders. Ponds is great for cleaning makeup off your face and then use witch hazel as an astringent. Crisco is good for severly dry skin. Salt water gargle at sign of a sore throat. Oatmeal is a great skin calmer. Put oatmeal in a sock and place it in the tub and soak in a bath.

My mom is a cosmetologist and told me dry shampoo works correctly once it sits on the hair for a bit to absorb oil and then needs to be combed to remove it. So they probably sprayed it in their hair before the video and when they brush it, it "fluffs" up- because the way they're spraying it over their head would do almost nothing in terms of the product they're advertising

Living Proof makes an awesome dry shampoo. It’s actually less expensive than the cheaper stuff from the drugstore because the can lasts 10 times as long. It smells so good too. Alternatively you can use plain cornstarch and a huge fluffy powder makeup brush to apply it. Brush through your hair and let it sit for a few minutes, and then just go to shake it out a little. You can spray perfume into the air then shake your head around in the mist. It’s almost the same result as the Living Proof but far less expensive. It just takes a bit longer.

Oh then stop showering so much. Your scalp is over producing because it’s trying to keep up with you stripping away all the oil from showering every day. I know it sucks to go with oily hair, but try to delay it by a day and after a week or two, add another extra day in there and work up to only washing your hair once every 5-7 days. You’ll have the same results as her then.

How did i let my hair rehab? On home days i let it be oily and stretch the days between washing bit by bit. Also washing with only water rinses out a lot aswell. When i talk about washing now i mean with shampoo but back them even only water washing helped to stretch it one more day

I LOVE black womens hair I'm super jealous 😍😍 The way your hair does soo many things like the twists then the next day box braids then maybe a wig dreads plats and so on. White hair depending won't even stay in a braid. I have a weird type hair it's frizzy and kinda curly it knots all the time but I wait until my hair is starting to feel oily to wash it so maybe once a week I'll wash my hair it's actually bad to wash it too much bc the shampoos strip all the natural moisture out. Then I straighten it and then it's smooth and silky easy to deal w hardly knots or anything. Makes no sense to me. I have a niece who has beautiful biracial babies and their hair is completely opposite from one another. I have to say I've learned a lot about taking care of different hair textures from those wee ones I had no clue either haha I didn't know about all the products you have to use types of brushes even and just how important shrinkage is baby haha

Clap some between your hands and start running your hands through your hair. Repeat a few times and then brush it out of your hair. It makes it look freshly shampooed. It also stops your pets claw from bleeding if you accidently cut into the quick because your dog has midnight black claws and you can't see the quick. Yes i have accidently cut into my best friend's quick 2 times and cornstarch instantly stops the bleeding and it must stop the pain because my dog chilled right down after the cornstarch. It's good for thickening stews if you can't make a roux. I can't afford the expense of dry shampoo but I'm telling you cornstarch works better but doesn't have the fragrance added to the dry shampoos. Try it.

dry shampoo is an absolute blessing if you're really late and can't wash your hair. doesn't always look perfect but with some brushing it works wonders. you can also make a homemade version i think; i used to use corn starch on occasion if i was out and my hair wasn't extremely dirty / just had gotten flat and i didn't have anything else. such a lifesaver in college though. waking up with half my hair greasy because it touched my face in my sleep sucked for me

Editorial stylist here.. Dry shampoo is wonderful for volume once in a while. DO NOT use it daily, especially if you only wash your hair once a week or less. It will suffocate the hair follicle and slowly make your hair thin and fall out. You have to double wash with a good sulfate free salon shampoo every time you use a dry shampoo to get all of it off the scalp!!! Same as hair growth oils. Great for a few hours BUT need washed out daily with gentle sulfate free salon quality shampoo to help your hair follicles stay healthy and happy!

You’re over washing your hair you’ve trained your scalp to produce oil at a much more rapid rate than it was supposed to… think about it when you strip all the oils off of your skin what does it do? it goes into overdrive trying to replace the oil your skin once had thus causing over production of oil 💯 it takes some time but you can retrain your skin. I’ve done it and it was annoying to keep not washing my hair when I felt so oily but has been worth it for the results.. start small - go as long as you can without washing your hair then once you wash it, push the shampoo n between time out another day… then keep going until you’re at the two week mark or as far out as you can get it😅 I promise it works I’ve got mine trained to about a week - week and a half now ❤

It definitely seems to depend on which dry shampoo you're using. I tried several brands, and only one really does a good job without leaving my hair feeling sticky and gross which is Batista. I've also mixed up my own which works in a pinch, but I don't love the method of application with that. Anyway, dry shampoo actually does work to clean the hair. The powder binds to grease, dead skin, and dirt which you then brush out. It's very common in arid areas to clean with sand versus wasting water that is in precious supply.

I agree and disagree... different hair types will require washing after a different amount of time. Once it gets greasy like that you need to wash your scalp, adding more product is only increase clogging of your roots wich may lead to hair loss. People who need to wash their hair daily are probably not properly cleaning their scalp, you gotta really get there and scrub scrub scrub. Like they would do in a salon. Dry shampoo can be a life saver on an emergency but I'd be weary of using it regularly between washes.
