I’ve been using the Revlon One Step Plus for over two years, I have shoulder length gray hair that is very fine and frizzes when I use a regular blow dryer and round brush. I LOVE my Revlon. It takes me about 11 to 12 minutes from pretty wet to totally dry, no frizz, smooth bob style. I have never used the high setting, only low or medium if I’m in a hurry. I see no reason to spend up to three times as much for basically the same result. I would buy this same one again.

Do you guys also use it on unwashed hair? Like to re-style it? Or would that dry out your hair? I'm trying to see if I should buy it or just get a regular curling iron. I have very coarse, thick hair and am postpartum, so I'm trying to reduce time fixing my hair.

@@llopez7485 I am sorry, I can't help you with this as I have fine, thin hair. I only know my hair has lots of body and movement. It is also very shiny after each use. Just make sure you use a hair protectant made for the texture of your hair.

I have the T3 and have used the Revlon as well. I am a licensed stylist but use them on myself when I am in a rush. The revlon gets very hot as it gets older. It’s burned me several times each time I used it until I finally just stopped and used my blow dryer and brush instead. I have a Dyson pro blow dryer so why not use it! The T3 I purchased on sale a few months ago and have found that I love the paddle brush attachment but not the round brush attachment as much. My daughter has finer hair and loves the round brush for the volume she is able to achieve. I on the other hand can get massive volume with the T3. Now we share the T3. You can change the heat settings on it separate from the blow speed and do a quick cool shot when you have finished a section. Yes I section. I also ordered and tried out the Shark and was sorely disappointed with it. Not only did it feel cheap it also didn’t smooth well or when using the curling option, with enough product to hold a style for days with a curling iron I might add, the curls lasted no more than 15 minutes in my hair or any of my daughter-in-laws or daughters. One of my daughter has naturally curly hair, ringlet in places. She held curls the longest which is to be expected, but the larger curls did fall quickly on her as well. I used a light leave in conditioner, Fat Boy fiber mouse or Aquage Root lifting foam, and even tried Kenra heat protectant for hold. Nothing helped. Long story short…… I love the T3!!!! I also love a curling iron for lasting curls! 1” long barrel is perfection! Oh and 4 times your wife changed her sweater :)

Had the Revlon, worked pretty well. Did read/heard that they overheat and end up frying your hair, so. I got the Shark when Sephora had a percentage off sale. I like it better. I needed more tension that I wasn't getting from the Revlon blow dryer brush. It is a bit awkward to use at first. You get used to it. I like that it's one unit with different attachments

I'm currently wearing my wavy hair in its _natural_ state, but when I was wearing my hair straight(ish), the Revlon was my go-to. Using a heat protectant, I would first rough dry my hair and then when my hair was about 30-40% dry, I would use the Revlon brush. It *does* get hot! 😅 Thanks for this very thorough comparison.

I’ve had my Revlon for several years and put it away for a while (for regular blow dryer and brush). I had long hair then and the low setting took way too long to dry, and the medium and high setting got too hot and blew hair around too much making it frizzy. I have resurrected the Revlon now that I have shorter hair and it works just fine on low heat. Good to know I have a decent one … but if I want to upgrade … I now know of other good options. Thanks!

I’ve had the Revlon brush now for years and absolutely love it. I let my hair air dry mostly and then use it and it only takes me 3-5 minutes to dry and I have medium wavy textured hair past my shoulder. I recently tried out the Dyson air straight bc I loved the idea of wet to dry straight all in one and not as much high heat damage, but it took me 4 times as long and my hair ended up really staticky and it didn’t have as much volume so it got returned and I’m sticking with my $33 Revlon dryer ❤

That’s what I do too, when possible. I let hair air dry for a long time so heat styling is minimized. I also get a very fast overall shape and then low-heat individual pieces and roll in large and medium-large Velcro rollers and leave those in for as long as possible. Minimizing heat styling is my goal. The Revlon (even less $$ at Costco) has been great. Fun video!

I first got the Revlon one, and then I got the Sharkflex style. About the Revlon I like that is very lightweight and not so loud, and good ergonomic as well. But a few months ago I got the sharkflex style and I learned to like it more above being heavier and louder. I just feel like the flexshark grips better my hair and also, it doesnt get as hot like the revlon. With the revlon, I would burn my fingers just holding the pointy end, and would burn my face using it on the side/front hair. With the shark one my face or my hands doesn't get burn and I even can hold it by the brush.

Same here and it has been a blessing as I have rheumatoid arthritis in both wrists so using a blow dryer and round brush can be quite painful at times. I have thick curly hair so need to use the high heat setting to get my hair straight. I don’t straighten my hair all the time so I’m not constantly exposing my hair to that level of heat.

Thank you so much! I truly appreciate that. With your hair, being thin and fine, make sure you use a heat protectant before applying any sort of heat tools to your hair. Also, I have a video coming out next week all about thin, fine hair! Can’t wait to hear what you think.

I have thin fine curly hair and have used the Revlon brush for a few years. It works great! I just have to be careful not to overdry, when my hair starts getting warm. I like to use the cool setting when my hair is mostly dry.

So glad I found your channel. Im currently transitioning to gray. Im a natural curly brunette, now blond, now toned, so Ashy blond. I diffuse most of my chin length bob and let it be curly, But my bangs, oh my they have to be tamed with a styling brush into a softer look. Think tight coils. Not good. So my question is, with my chin length fine thin curly hair, do you think the revlon would be too large of a brush for my length of hair? Thanks so much

I'm curious if you have done or plan to do a video on rotating brush dryers? My hair is long now and I have so much natural wave that I needed something that would dry and settle down the frizz! I first had a Conair Infiniti Pro but eventually the motor wore out. Next was a cheaper one that conked out and now I have a Beautineter 1200 that I love and it's held up well! Plus it's about half the cost of the Conair!

Not sure how to count top changes...started with black, then animal print, then pinky-taupe, then back to black...so 3 changes??? Fun video, thanks.

What heat-protective leave-in conditioner do you recommend for volume in fine hair? I just found out my favorite is no longer available. Could you review some? Or do you have your own product? I liked my foam mousse - easiest for me to spread well with a comb. I’ve tried creams and gels, but they were harder for me to distribute evenly without getting too much in one place. I want that Revlon dryer.

I had the revlon, but stopped using it after a few months because of how hot it got, i new i would damage my really long hair. The low setting wasnt an option because it didn't dry my hair, would have been there so long. I bought the t3, and it doesnt get as hot, but i almost feel like it isnt powerful enough. I went back to using my t3 blow dryer and a round brush

I would love a video that shows how to use a dyson airwrap to style thin, fine hair. I don't believe you've ever done a video using the airwrap (?), so perhaps you don't like this hair tool. I know it's an expensive tool but for those of us who have already purchased one it would be helpful to have a professional - ie, yourself (lol) - give tips on how to use the tool. For myself, I purchased the airwrap so I don't have to buy a number of other hair tools - ie, blowout brush, flat iron, blow dryer etc.

I’ve tried the Revlon, Chi, Drybar and T3, and the T3 wins hands down. It has the smoothest, shiniest, most voluminous result, it has adjustable heat and air speed settings and comes with two brush heads - a paddle brush for straightness, a round brush for volume. The Revlon is way too hot and fries your hair, the Chi broke down after a few months (seems like a cheap copy of the Revlon one) and the Drybar one did not help with smoothness or shine at all. T3 has saved my hair and my sanity lol so good

I used the Revlon for about a year only on low and over time the heat really wrecked my hair. I have thick healthy hair but it began breaking and the frizz was unreal, I switched to the drybar after a lot of research and have not looked back - I’m on my second brush - after using the first one for at least two years, maybe three? Fantastic brush. And yes, I do use a heat protectant as well as only using it on low. I live in a very dry climate so I don’t need the high setting as we have low humidity.

  • @christian5707

I’ve had 2 of the revlon stylers , they both get incredibly hot. When you turn the cool setting on it takes forever to actually cool down. My hair is down to my back bra strap and sometimes the brush does get tangled in my hair. The other thing I dislike about it is where the buttons are (not even buttons) to change the heat settings… very awkward. I will say my frizzy hair is always smoothed out by the revlon and for the price point I tolerate the things I dislike about it. Someday I hope to have a Dyson but for the life of me I just can’t fathom spending that much on a hair tool. 😂 thanks for the review I think next time I’m in the market for a new one I’ll try another brand!

Y’all are so cute together! ❤❤❤. I have one on the cheap end but not one of these. I think if I were going to buy one of these I’d go with the CHI…but only because of the speed…mine would probably have taken 20 minutes…JK… but it’s good for lift and smoothing. The most expensive ones are too bulky for me.
