Yup. Love it. I also have the X-T2 and definitely prefer the X-H1. I always have a backup, but it’s usually a different model. The H1 is the first camera I’ve considered buying two of.

I've had my xh1 for almost 2 years now and absolutely love it, but I kept hearing how much better the xt3 was and it was supposedly better than the xh1 in every way, so I gave in and I have just bought my xt3 Jan 2021, and yes it has slightly faster AF and yes it has better video specs, so is it better than my xh1, definitely not, the lack of IBIS especially for video and the less rugged less ergonomic body means that its the xt3 that sits on the shelf and not my xh1, not what I expected at all.

I re-bought the X-H1 because I missed it so much. I have a lot of mirrorless video cameras. This is my favorite and it gives me the best results---so much fun to shoot.

I purchased the XH1 as my " second ' camera to my XT3 . . . but I'm shooting with the XH1 a lot! Love this camera.

Amen brother! I picked up a second copy and sold my X-T2.

I’m glad I’m not the only one to have gone down this path! I bought the X-H1 this spring when they had a deal on it with the 16-55 f/2.8, grip, and batteries for $2,000 (USD). It was an amazing deal considering the lens alone goes for $1,200 and the grip is another $300 or so. Basically, it was like getting the X-H1 body for $500. I just couldn’t pass it up. When it arrived, I was surprised at the weight and size of the kit. The grip didn’t seem comfortable. The whole kit felt heavier than a full frame DSLR. A few days later, I returned it and got an X-T2, grip, batteries, 18-55, and 10-24 for the same price. Fast forward to a couple of months ago when that same X-H1 kit went on sale for $1,700. It immediately sold out with a promise there would be more in stock (which I didn’t believe would actually happen). Turns out it did, and I bought it again. Why? Four reasons. First, I found that as good as the 18-55 is, I missed having an actual marked aperture ring, which the 16-55 has, and the 18-55 lacked whatever magic Fuji works into its prime lenses. Again, there’s nothing at all wrong with the 18-55, but it never “wowed” me. The 16-55 does. Second, I realized I was trying to put the X-H1 + 16-55 + grip into the same category as my X-T1 with a small prime and no grip, falling into the mindset that the only benefits mirrorless cameras with APS-C sensors bring to the table are lighter weight and smaller size. This time, I’m looking at the XH-1 for what it is. Third, the IBIS. It makes composing and shooting with the 55-200 so much easier and rewarding. And fourth, it was simply too good deal to pass up. I was going to buy the 16-55 anyway, so for $500 more, I got the X-H1 with the grip and Fuji batteries. That kind of deal is rare. My X-T2 and grip will be going up for sale here soon, probably with the 18-55, and I should be able to recoup at least $1,000, bringing the net cost of the X-H1 kit around $700.

I just got an X-H1 a few weeks ago and I'm loving it! I picked up the 18-55mm and 50mmf2 used, so a very nice kit for a great price. Especially since the grip and two extra batteries are included, a $600 CDN value!

Wow Fred i bought this camera last week at 899 with the grip!! I already have another 2 xt2 cameras but just loved the view finder,leaf shutter,better grip for pinky finger and low light shooting ability of it i just couldnt ignore the price at 899 😁

I bought mine as soon as it was available 1.5 years ago, still using it, love it.

The X-H1 with the 90mm f2 is my favorite combo. The ibis is amazing, the shutter is amazing. I find myself reaching for it more than I do the X-T3. Tempting to buy a second body but i'm going to hold on for the X-H2 which could be a total game changer...

This is indeed where the X-H2S performs better with its 26MP stacked sensor

It has been saving for years waiting to have enough to get a xt3. Then the xh1 came out, then the xt3. After this the xh1 came down so much in price I was able to get the xh1 body and 50mmf2. It certainly has let many into the fuji system.

I'm wanting to buy a new camera and can't wait for the release of the xh2. I think it will offer everything I'm hoping for.

Go for it! It’s a great camera at a very attractive price!

I was tempted to get another xh1 just because of the deals but the only bundled one I didn’t have is the 8-16. Tempting but I resisted when they had the 25% off that lens last year so I wasn’t as tempted. Still an incredible deal if you don’t already have the lens or camera.

I have both the XT-2 and H1. Love the ergo of the T2 (after having added a Lensmate thumb support) over that of the grip of the H1, but wish it had IBIS ! And the location of theQ button of the H1 just sucks. I bump it almost every time I shoot. Wouldn't give up either camera body though. T2 for street, H1 for low light, larger lenses, or landscape without a tripod thanks to the IBIS.

It is very good! Not as fast as the T-3 or Pro-3 but good enough to handle all kind of situations. I just came back from a trip to Paris where I did street, landscape and portrait and it worked like a charm!

Upgraded to the X-H1 from an old Canon t5i. Love it so much! My only knock is that the camera needs a fully articulating screen. Hopefully, the x-h2 will have one 🤞.

@@FredRanger I use an inexpensive field monitor to help me compose my shots, but that only gets me half way there. Every shoot there are situations where I need to fine tune the settings while being in front of the camera. Kind of hard to do the "reach around" thing.

I owned the Fuji x-h1, and the Fuji xt30. I have 7 lenses. The xt30 has the newer sensor but the 23mmf1/4, 35mmf1/4 and the 16-55mm f2.8 zoom are my three favorites; no OIS so x-h1 is my go to camera. I love that camera. They say crop sensors are not good for landscape, but I think only God good get better colors than those lenses. My hands are average but still I feel like I have an extra finger with the xt30 so I swapped it out for xt3. The xt2 was perfect but I swapped it for the h-1. I decided against the new pro3. Those rangefinders are really cool but I’m a retired guy who wears glasses so I use the monitor most the time.

Yes, the ergonomics and lack of shutter shock on the X-H1 are the two main features, which currently set it above the X-T lineup... The X-H2 is going to be awesome!!! Edit: in fact two things that the X-H2 should have - 1 bigger battery, 2 permanent grip Juul in to support such a battery! If they build this into the body, it will be slightly smaller than the current one with grip, it should be able to do 1000+ shots, and it seems everyone has than on there anyway!

Hey Fred, love your stuff mate. Do you know when Fuji are expected to release the new X-H2? I have an X-T2 which is a great camera but I would like IBIS but don't want to buy an X-T4. I like the bigger body of the X-H camera. Also, I'm hoping the X-H2 has an upgraded sensor to that of the XT-3 + X-T4.

Mike C thanks for the feedback. I wish I knew when it will come out as I’m a big fan of this series too. Looking at this historically, it’s been 2 years since the release of the H1 so we should be close to a new release (hopefully).

There are inexpensive well made light metal grips available on Amazon for around $35 for the X T3, if the grip is an issue. I will also protect the camera.

I made the switch to Fujifilm over the summer when the GFX100 came out, and picked up an X-H1 to pair with the 100-400mm for the reach when I want to pick up landscape detail or for occasional wildlife shots-a much better balance and stability than with the X-T bodies. Then recently I almost talked myself into an X-Pro3 as a walk-around camera. I think that Classic Negative will be a great look to work with, but I much prefer the mechanics of the X-H1, and while the price is down I’m going to pick up another for shooting “small” (without the grip), and wait to see what they decide to do with an X-H2. Fingers crossed we don’t have to wait too long.

@@waveland I shoot Fuji for many Years and I guess latest in 02/2020 we will have the new announcement of the X-H2. But regardless the X-H1 is a great camera. Nice shootings!

Fuji needs to make more OIS style lens, even in the MK series!

Hi Fred, I saw in your XH1 settings rundown video that you are recording audio with an external mic into the XH1 and monitoring through the headphone jack. I do the same but my audio is clipping in the headphones although the settings are good and the meters are not clipping. In Final Cut the audio is also very clear. Do you have the same problem when monitoring? I tried different headphones and cables but with no positive result. Could you report if you have that problem as well? It's a stupid idea from Fuji to have the power circuit next to the headphone jack.. I hate that design! So cool that you went back to the XH1 😀 I use mine with vintage lenses especially for filmmaking or with the small 16mm f2.8 and 35mm f2 primes for street photography.

Very interesting indeed as this is exactly what happens to me as well! 😅 I've done God knows how much troubleshooting but it seems unfixable. ⚰️ I even went to the photo gear store and tested monitoring on another brand new kit - same problem. I sent a very explaining mail to Fujifilm support a long time ago but they haven't answered me. What is this stupidity? 😑 Kudos to the one who can explain this and come up with a solution! ✨

IMO, Olympus are the best cameras when you need an ultralight, highly weather sealed kit for adventure and travel. They also excel at light-painting type shots with the nighttime composite feature, and have the best IBIS available. But the Fuji system has absolutely every other advantage, including a larger sensor. I’m a former Olympus shooter who happily went Fuji.

Snowwalker the EM1 II is still a fantastic camera, and they’ve recently given it some firmware upgrades. I expect the price to drop even further on that model. I’m a Fuji shooter who still loves MFT, and I still have 2 Panasonic bodies that I use whenever I need unlimited video recording time.

The current offer for the X-H1 is already attractive. However, I am very satisfied with my X-T2....

They won't - apparently the processing power in the X-H1 is already maxed out and can't handle the faster AF processing that the X-T3 does

Unfortunately I bought mine 16-55mm just a month or so before those deals started. Still, I'm heavily considering purchase of the X-H1...

Not the best for video, but I managed to get some great footage out of a recent trip to Paris. Vlog will come soon, make sure you have the bell notification enable to know when it drops!

I shoot Nikon, but have an xt1, and for the life of me. I want to go fuji, but not sure what keeps me from doing it. The xh1 is 5he one that keeps me wanting more.

All of the XT/XE/XPro models are poor ergonomics (esp with heavy lens). The XH1 is the only body that balances well with the heavy zooms. I really did like the XH1 (when I had it). Maybe I'll copy you and buy it back LOL

Was thinking about swapping out my Xt-30 for an Xh1 so I can get the IBIS and the Grip. I shoot video more than photo. Thoughts? I know the Xt-30 has more autofocus points. But that's the only advantage I know of my 30 having over the H1.

@@samuelhatch5882 For sure, very versatile and, as a former Nikon shooter myself, the 15-55 was the closest to my beloved 24-70 f2.8 Nikkor. Very good first choice. I would suggest the 10-24 f4 as your next one if you are into landscape or the 56mm f/1.2 is portrait is more your thing. Happy shooting! Cheers!

Recently bought the xh1 new for € 1k (great deal) to replace my xt2. What I like: 1) ibis 2) dslr- style grip 3) near-silent mechanical shutter 4) feather touch shutter button 5) rugged build quality 6) balances well against larger lenses, like my favourite 16-55 f/2.8. What I don’t like: not a damn thing!

Picking one up next week

The first camera that changed the land scape was the Canon 5DII, up untill now I've not been able to justify that kind of spending. the kind of money these cameras cost was not a top priority. The BMPCC 6k was close (ef lens, and USB 3 to external SSD card...). My XH1 with grip gets here next week, the cost was what got me in the game again. Wish I could design my own camera.

@Dan C great feedback, could not agree more, really handy tips. My first mistake was i have already got the Lexar card. ordering san disk tonight. Because I ordered the camera from USA power cord... isn't Australia. thinking of ordering third party batteries with charger. Just got the camera 10min ago, about to set up. ? weren't you tempted to get Panasonic SH1? Personally out of my price justification but wow great to get a new camera. XH1 is the first camera to win me over because of the tactile dials, ergonomics, hybrid functions and the power isn't an issue like everyone says with the grip. holly hectic v90 256gig is a hell of a price, think I 'll look at 64 gig and Ninjas V with SSD .M 2 2Tb log external record

If you can get a second hand mint xh1 with battery grip, 2 batteries, and a rrs L bracket for 1300 aud Vs second hand mint xt3 for 1100-1200 aud body only, which would you get? I can't decide...

Depends on if you think you will rely on IBIS (video, low light photography) a lot and if a bigger grip is preferable for you. In this case, I would go with the H1. If you don’t need IBIS and the grip, the T3 will offer you with the latest 26MP sensor + extra film simulation (Classic Neg, Bleach Bypass) if you do shoot JPEG.

if they are trying to sell out the H1 but would that mean that the H2 is coming out soon (6 months to a year)

As someone who owns the X-H1, that 16-55 f2.8, and all of the A7II's, I'd say you should go for the 7III. The low light performance and autofocus of the Sony is superior to the X-H1. Even if you got a used A7RII, you'd be happier than if you got the Fuji. Not doggin Fuji, I love my X-H1 but it is not as good all around as the A7III.

I was using the XT series for a good 4 years and ended with the XH1. I sold all my Fuji gear and went with the A7iii + Tamron 28-75. I shoot both stills and video and I wasn’t happy with the camera “jitters” from the XH1. If I was mainly shooting stills, I wouldn’t have switched systems.

I just got the body with 6,000 shutter count for $600 and the 16-55 2.8 lens for $700. 😊

I went from Nikon full frame DSLRs to Fuji X-H1 and X-T3 and I see a lot of advantages. Fred Ranger which one has the better touch af between xh1 and xt2 or maybe xt30, so i heard xh1 only has the center area available for touch af? Tq sir 🙏🏻

I have the X-T3 and came to buy an X-H1 + 35mm f1.4 for 900 euros, I think it is a good offer. I'm in doubt if I sell the X-T3 and I took a X-T4 or I keep it and I own this X-H1.

Good deal! I’m having the same debate, I might go with the X-H1 + X-T4 all stabilized combo.

i've heard some negative feedback on this because its shutter button is too light so it's hard for the user to know when the camera is focusing or has taken a picture... Im new to this hobby and want to focus on photography, im dabating between choosing the xh1 and xt3, maybe a bit toward the XH1 bc it's cheaper, ill have more money to buy lens but that feedback makes me quite concerned, can you give me any advice, thanks !

My first advice is: you are absolutely right. Lenses are way more important than the body. Any camera produced in the past 5 years will be good! So get your self a good prime lens and take it from there 🤘🏻

Baby get back ! X-H1 is an excellent camera - it may have been overshadowed by the X-T3 in terms of AF and video features, but it remains a rock-solid and classy piece of kit

what if you using smallrig L Plate for XT3 , it helps me bro. but still lack of ibis 😭

I sure do. It produces superbe 4K footage, has decent in body image stabilization and has the Eterna film simulation and f-log. It is still a very good video camera!

Would you recommend the Xh1 over the Sony a7iii. I currently own a fuji x100f but want to start experimenting with lenses for my travel photography

No, it will only shoot 8-bit 4:2:0 internally and 8-bit 4:2:2 externally through HDMI

You will have to go with the X-T4 for 10-bit 4:2:2

@@FredRanger XH2 definitely needs 4k60, headphone jack, better battery life, better AF, video/photo switch/memory. And keep what's on XH1.

I liked the camera, but then I noticed a number of reviews on youtube describing the focus locking up, refusing to focus -- and one wedding photographer who found his pics were frequently not quite in focus and therefore useless to the client

Yup, fixes a lot of the quirks of the H1! Still need the grip for a proper headphone jack to monitor the audio though

Got my body and battery grip with a shutter count of (60) for 700 euros, felt like that was such a bargain.

Same here! It's a beast in the right hands.

I will be honest,i have both xh1 and xt3 but what really bothers me like alot is that my xh1 has a crop on 4k video recording and the most important it cannot record DCI 4K 30 fps only 24...That's a huge issue where the XT3 can record anything...It's an older gen camera,although handheld and on trips only the XH1 comes with me...IBISSZZ

I was thinking that but after I bought the Ursa Mini for my filming. You cannot wait always for newer models to come,you need to film now . Would be nice to see a dedicated video unit from Fuji like the Panasonic S1H

And now you can get the X-H1 for around 700 bucks because loads of people want to upgrade. And for that price the H1 is just a no-brainer.

Absolutely especially for what you are getting for the price at the moment. IBIS, bigger grip, great sensor! If money is no object I would recommend checking out the new X-T4 which has IBIS and a newer sensor and longer life battery. Cheers!

The xh2 better have the next generation sensor/processor or else it’s going to suffer the same fate as the xh1 did all over again when the xt4 comes out.

X-H1 + 16-55mm 2.8: The size of a full frame with the disadvantages of apsc.

X-H series is video oriented. Since when is full frame the standard for video to consider super 35 sized sensor disadvantageous?
