Nice choice Dan, sunroof was optional , quite rare. Looks like you have cruise too, parking sensors too so a high spec car. You could spec those wheels on S3 but the offset looks wrong, particularly the offside rear so I wonder if they are from a normal A3 which is narrow body. Cambelt due every 5 years regardless of miles, have you checked AWD works? Check engine for vacuum leaks and breather leaks, rocker cover gasket leaks. Also broken springs, are common, anti roll bar bushes (basically all the same as TT). Hopefully garage owner has looked after it. Keep is standard aesthetically, don't gangsta it. Look forward to following the project.

Great little cars! Interior advanced for their age😎 I owned one but had to sadly part ways over a year ago. You’ll enjoy it. It did become quite expensive to maintain haha! Mine had 117k when I bought!

I have a Nagaro Blue S3 which I have owned for a year and a half and like you have returned to like new condition. Took time and money but love it. WIll watch the journey with interest.

Hi Dan Beautiful colour, I have the Mk1 slightly different array on Headlight/indicator cluster, What's interesting is that I to have the electric Sunroof which still works extremely well sticks occasionally but apart from that a joy... Mine is a project car but was also amazed on the value these babies are attracting now, anyway I will look out for your vlogs. Cool.

Nice rare Audi that nowerdays. that Dash was pinched by SEAT & fitted to the mk1 Leon & i had one for 10yrs & that just brings back all them memories. Audi are poss the best designed cars were ever too see. SEAT no far behind them mind. good luck with it.

I like MK1 Leon's a lot. It's funny because Seat tweaked the dash and made it look a little nicer. Another KZreadr, boqer123 has a very cool Leon as a project car.

Check the condition of the rear tie arms and sub frame. I've seen rear tie arms snap due to heavy corrosion

Oil pick up pipe is a must also wouldnt hurt to service the haldex. I daily mine and thought many of time to get something newer but i just cant part with it

Thanks Damien, Ara Blue suits the S3, especially with the alloys that come with the S3 (nicer than my RS wheels)

I love this car 100%

Look for EM Tuning bi-xenon headlight upgrade - so much better than the standard headlights

Jlr have a smart booth that do very good repairs if you ever need body work 👍🏻

Milltek all the way I have a 3 inch downpipe with milltek decat and non reasonated back box sounds good whist not being too loud all others systems sound cheap Also it's imola yellow

There’s no such thing as a 3” miltek exhaust system for the S3 8L. It’s 2.75” and is a waste of time and money. BAF motorsport do a 3” downpipe, and have the Catback 3” custom made by any respectable exhaust fabrication shop.

I know what exhaust is on my s3 and I didn't state the downpipe is milltek the rest is however

If I was you, I'd go for some Zito 935 alloys. Auditography had a video on a Nogaro Blue 8L S3 that had those alloys on it and they looked absolutely mint on it.

Had a quick Google and the 935s are nice alloys. I'm unsure at the moment whether I want to go aftermarket or keep the car OEM

@@mrdanielknight Def keep it OEM, will probably go up in value if you restore it. Owned a red one of these since 2005 and I'm keeping it OEM. Oh btw the leather door trim thats falling off can be fixed back on (after the panel is taken apart and the old foam is rubbed off, PITA job) with PVA glue, did mine with it and its great to help slide it into place before it sets. Good luck with it!

Check door sills/jacking points for corrosion

check for rust under roof rails. paint black just rings on grill. if paint still original, I recon touch up, new clearcoat & ppf on hood/bumper - color matching this paint is nightmare. upgrades... brakes, look for cupra R brembo's 323mm, poly bushes... lots of mods can be done on this car, but sort it out first as original as possible.
