Here it is, another project car!
Well, not quite, as I sold the car after only 3 weeks of owning it. Nothing wrong with the car but I had an offer for more than what I paid for it, no brainer. #AudiTT

That noise is not the tracker , it’s the Sony radio when you turn the power off

I have owned a TT 225 stage 1 for 7 years. It is the car that has given me most fun to drive. Always something going wrong though. But I love it. For the money, highly recommend one.

Great video, well done! The TT is a beautiful car, and definitely a future classic that will appreciate in value. I was considering buying one some years back but eventually decided on my BMW 330i SE E90 manual.

Thanks for the video ... love seeing TT content out there. The car is so underrated, the MK1 is definitely the best one and is a design icon. How can it not become a future classic? It just might take quite a while for people to realise how much fun they are and how well the industrial design was executed. They not rare enough ... yet. A car usually has to go through a period of people forgetting about it or not really liking it for a while, before it becomes a classic. One can hope, but usually this applies to cars that were made in smaller numbers. One could always focus on the Q Sport or ABT limited editions. But until Hot Wheels make one .... 🤞🏻 😄

That's an early pre-facelift model which is why the headlights are "blacked out". They are actually original. From 2002 onwards (2001 for an SLine) there were several changes. The headlights changed from dark to light silver. The grille changed from 5 slat to 3 slat. The suspension was lowered and the wheels were changed. I have a feeling that the gear knob also changed but it's been a few years since I've owned one (2003!) That is an early car as the grille and headlights match the year. It's hard to tell but I think the suspension is the original height. The later suspension was 20mm lower. One thing to be cautious of for early cars with those wheels is that they were amazingly popular at the time. So replicas were very common as lots of people wanted to make their car look like the facelift model. So the silver wheels that come with it may or may not be genuine items. But they wouldn't have been original on that car. Also... DEFINITELY a classic.

Looks like a fun car Daniel, I am considering one for my other half. Whilst on the subject of future classics, early S4 convertibles are still good value for money. What about trying one of those?

I doubt it will become a classic as there were too many manufactured. However it is an iconic car, which is very similar to the concept car. Something which is very rare in the automobile industry. Buy one, use it and enjoy it. It won't depreciate, but probably not appreciate either. Quattro Sport models are the exception, as they were only made in limited numbers (800 in the UK), but they are already strong money at around £10k for a clean example.

Hi Daniel, thanks for this video, I enjoyed it. Can tell you something about some things you mentioned. The blacked out headlight units were standard on these cars. Except for the 3.2 version, those were silver grey. On your car, the grill below in the middle of the frontbumper seems silver grey to my eyes - it was black as standard. The button in the middle of the 3 buttons below in the interior (below the slide valve) is not for the interior-lights, but for disabling the motion-sensors of the alarm in the interior. In case you leave someone in the car while you're off for a minute. I'm on my second TT mk1. Started with a 225 bhp version, and now own a 3.2. Although in a different version, the first car I bought twice. There's something about these cars that's very pleasant to me. Comfortable at any speed, very intuitive to drive, a unique design - especially the interior, and even for today's standards plenty of power to get along nicely. For the (nowadays) affordable purchase prices and running costs, you get quite some "car" in return - if maintained well. Opinions can differ, of course. Hope your little TT adventure get's a sequel :-)

The blackened headlights were standard on pre-2001 cars. All TT's changed to silver from 2002 onwards, except the SLine which was a limited run in 2001 and included some of the facelift changes before the rest of the model range got them.

I have owned a 2004 mk1 VR6 TT for a few months now and I love it. The 3.2 NA model is IMHO the best version to own and will become the leading classic. These cars are going to rise in value as the cheaper ones are bought up by less caring owners who molest and abuse them into the salvage yard. The mk1 is IMO the best looking version. The later versions look like all other audis of their age.
