The format's changed! Car NOT parked up in a parking lot. No rifling through the glovebox, finding coins and old cd's. What's in the boot? Could be all sorts. How are the engine mounts? What's the service history? What does the dipstick tell you? This dipstick tells you to return to the old format. :)

@@michaelmccann4706 Loads of lady's don't see how much work car showroom workers put in. They think it's run smoothly like a Tesco's store. Car business is manic. Because cars look so well produced with the branding and advertising and sheer finish of such a marvel people's expectations are high but they don't know how much work goes into preparing them for customers. Especially if the dealer is actually any good. The lady's in my family thought my job was a doss about for years just because it was cars I was working with until they started to see how much work we do. They thought it was some joke thing until they see the real levels and standards on TV and KZread. People will put up with Josie developments because they accept it's a messy hard job. They don't give that same respect to car showroom workers. As car showroom workers we have to stand by our cars and there is no I can wait for it to get fixed like a house job. The car brand heads are down your neck expecting problems to be fixed efficiently and on time. DIY house jobs people put up with it.
Brilliant, I had one (Mrs has it now) the same a white 2.0 TDI but mine was DSG and full leather, nav etc. The dreaded VW bong of doom i have worked out, between tyres going flat, random phantom canbus bulb out warnings, ABS or pad wear sensors and actual faults - its £150 per bong. But keep it on good fuel, regular oil and filter changes (And DSG every 20 - 30k) they are really reliable and go well. The water / sills are standard and easily sorted, same with the boot area and vents clogged up. all simple stuff. One item to bear in mind for any 2.0 DSG owner is if the temp is low - it WILL be the thermostat in the gearbox and not the thermostat on the engine. Ignore at your peril, or the motors take 50 miles to warm up and we all know where this is going ref EGR and DPF clogging. . . . . Anyway i bet you will get that all day long Matt, they are desirable especially in white and actually really good cars for a Mk6 golf.
Your videos are so chill, always brightens my day

You've finally done a car I owned! Crazy how the market has gone, I paid £6000 for a 16 plate with the newer EU6 diesel engine, back in Dec 2020. Well done for squeezing that video in. Still just as enjoyable. You were lucky with the water - I had a similar problem in a car where the sill drains had been welded over and when I braked after heavy rain, my partner got very wet feet as it all rushed into the passenger footwell 😂
Excellent piece of kit, and turned out well. Say it sold fast.

Hi Matt, many thanks for sharing your insights and knowledge into the world of the second hand car market. Have you ever done a car vertical check where you have found something that would make you run for the hills. That is the car has been stolen, written off.. or the mileage had been tampered with?
If that's the new video format it certainly worked for me Matt.

17:12 The nervous Stewart Pinkie bit.
Oh the infamous 'oh dear' at 6:13.
My Vauxhall GTC collects water in the doors. The window seals let water in and a design fault doesn't let it escape. The doors are raked forward with the lowest part of the doors at the front but the drain holes are at the rear. Not a problem when being used, as centrifugal force pushes the water out but my car stands idle for weeks at a time. I don't really need a car but on rare occasions, it does come in handy.
My dad’s got one, 140,000 miles, also a 2.0 diesel and it runs smoothly, I do like the wheels on that golf as they do look very nice.
Really look forward to these videos. Really makes me want to buy a car from Matt as I known he will have the car wanting for nothing and seems a very approachable knowledgeable gent.
JIMMY DEFINITELY DID A GREAT JOB!

I had a 1.6tdi version of this in grey and can confirm the sills probably need emptying from the drain plugs, bit of a design flaw. The other thing I noticed in your video was the bloody noise the windows used to make going up and down, my wife used to be so embarrassed to operate the roof in case the neighbours heard the window squeaks 😂. Mine needed an egr valve at 60k miles but apart from that was solid.
ahaha caribbean waves 😂😂 Sloshing water in this car sounds like stepping into a muddy puddle. I like the final result, someone will enjoy this car once a year when a sky isn't grey for a few hours in july
I have a soft spot for the golf cabrio. Think they're cool cars if the weather is nice!

dockleaf works wonders on nettle stings
Erm, I own an EOS and love it. No problems at all. I DO live in Australia and its always covered but no leaks and the roof works every time; oh and yeah I wouldn't upgrade it because I like the EOS!
I test drove an Octavia 1.9TDI mk1 when they 1st came out . I could hear the diesel slosh around the tank every time we accelerated&decelerated.
I've said it before and i'll say it again-great channel. Have you thought about getting into new car reviews? (your reviews would be excellent i'm pretty sure).
Hi Matt dock leaf for stings but who is going to rub it on. Well no new number plates . Great story line again any service history
Dont expect much from VW ... anyway great video as always 👌👍
I have owned a MK 6 cabriolet for 2 years....the sills will be full of water as VW in their wisdom sprayed the body after fitting the drain bungs. I have do 40k in mine and use it daily as a careworker.....mine does 53mpg for work and have had 68mpg on long runs

Vauxhall cascada also suffers with water. It's blocked drain plugs. On the cascada there located on the rear wheel arch. Easy fix just need cleaning out
The prices that you pay for some of the work you have done Mat is unbelievable. Such good value for such good work. You could never get a set of wheels refurbished for £180 down here in Essex, let alone diamond cut ones 🤣 feel like bringing my car up your way to get loads of work done to it 👍🏻

He gets trade prices as he puts a lot of work their way?
Nettle stings, find a doc leaf, it actually works!
Nettles grow where waste has been dumped, they live off the acid. Dock leaf always grows beside them (Positive and Negative) so rub the Dock on the stings.
@4:58 I had a Renault Megane that collected water in the cills...Had to punch though underneath at a couple of places...Water that come out was liquid rust...
Use doc leaves for nettle stings!
'when they're working properly they drive really well'. That's gold!
Each time I watch one of your videos I am astonished at the low cost levels of the various mechanics/paintwork etc. bills. I reckon that your costs are less than half typical Surrey retail prices. It seems to be a different world up north.

That water sloshing sound was the same as I had in my 2018 4 series convertible. Water was running down the windows (in my case driver rear) and not emptying via the channels as they were block by the side skirts! I fist thought it must have been my flasks in the rear footwell that I take to work, then it dawned on me that they were empty upon my return 😮I have a video of it gushing out once I’d clear the blockage. Nothing too sinister chap 👍
Your such a nice guy matt. Very rate on KZread

Did the Golf Convertible replace the Eos? Don’t think so. Golf 2011-6, Eos 2006-15. Pretty much overlapped. Personally, love them both. Had a ‘56’ plate Eos 2011-9 and a ‘14’ plate Golf 2019-to date. Both equally wonderful cars! Why are suddenly so few convertibles being made?
NettleCam next time please! And agree with what others have said about Jimmy, bargain city that one!
Wow, rain on the hood sounds like an Australian rainforest, thats a massive selling point!

For a nettle sting: crush and rub on a dock leaf

Nettles have a cure plant next to them, usually growing by their side. Big leafed. Just pick it and rub into the sting area. For next time Matt.

What plant cures stinging nettles? Dock leaves and stinging nettles grow in similar habitats. There are a few theories as to why dock leaves appear to help nettle stings. The most plausible are: the cooling sensation of the sap evaporating from the affected skin can relieve some of the stinging sensation.
