Today we’re discovering if it was worth buying a cheap old car from 1995. This automatic Mitsubishi Lancer GLXI cost me $1,400 Australian ($990 USD, £800 GBP) and came with 3 months worth of registration. Join me as we take a look at a cheap A to B car :) #wondershare #recoverit #datarecover

We had both the hatchback and coupe of these, though the hatchback was the Mirage and the coupe was the Lancer here, same with the generation after this one, by the 2000's the Lancer we got was the same as the rest of the world. I have no idea why Mitsubishi decided to do that for the Aus market but that's what they did

my dad used to have a 1997 Mitsubishi Super Lancer Sedan/Saloon, which was a model based on the older-gen Lancer (same one as yours) but was given the Super badging because Colmobil (the Mitsubishi importer in Israel) had to rid of them for the newer-gen Lancers and Colts, my dad's Super Lancer was also a GLXi trim, with automatic windows, 5-speed manual transmission, but weirdly enough, his car had "fingers" to lock the doors which he could push or pull from his door to lock or unlock all the doors. I miss it very much, perhaps I'll get something similar to his older car, as he now drives a 2010 Lancer he traded in the Super Lancer for. after finding a document on the Ministry of Transport website, turns out that the Super Lancer was taken off the road at the end of 2016. RIP lil fella, hopefully, you're in a better place now...

Glad to see you upload more car content, mate! This generation of Lancer is one of my favorites, and in Malaysia the one featured in your video is known as the Proton Putra. There’s another version called the Wira which is also a Lancer from this generation but it’s the 4 door sedan version and it has the license plate in between the taillights (you can also get it in hatchback form known as “aeroback”). These are really nice beater cars if you manage to find one in good electromechanical condition and a good price!

My first car was a manual 1999 Mitsubishi Galant. It had airbags (Even side airbags!) and was generally pretty safe car for it's time. It had pretty low kms when i got it, about 180k kms. It had the 2.0l petrol engine (4g63) which was pretty powerful but drank alot of fuel. The car became a moneypit pretty fast as the gearbox literally exploded didn't help at all that i abused it alot. We fixed the gearbox but the rust became too bad for us to handle so i sold it. The gearbox repair was almost as much as the car was worth (1k euros) but i'm happy to say it has been sold to a car enthusiast who has fixed it and is back on the road once again. Great video btw, i love how you have evolved from making computer videos to now making videos of computers and cars. Keep up the good work!

Absolutely love the car content brother. Just found out my mother has about 6 months to live due to cancer.. These car videos give me a slight bit of comfort. Appreciate it bro...

I'm pretty sure that in all those years that I have been watching Psiweri, this is the first time I've heard him swear in a video! 😂

I daily a Mirage here in the states and it's always surprising to me that no one drives one. They're wonderful cars, I've even been thinking about buying another for cheap.

I have seen a few of them where I live in Arizona and was curious too, do you hear a lot of road noise at higher speeds?

@@nslouka90 I drive mine in the city, so not sure on road speeds. At 65, it's not bad

Pretty cool little nugget. Unfortunately cheap cars in my country are thrashed or the good ones are kept in the family.

My first car was a 2005 Lancer and 9 years later I have just upgraded to the latest model I can get, a 2017 Lancer. Also, I'm from SA too and had to drive from Marion to Barmera to get it haha

@5:41 You mean, banger. @8:10 That autobox would be a deal breaker. Even a banger should come with a proper manual transmission.

The key barrel on the boot, probably better off using an epoxy glue instead of normal super glue. Epoxy glue is more resistant to weathering. Otherwise, fun video. =)

reminds me so much of my 03 Galant. my first car, that thing was bullet proof. drove it from 60k miles to 250k and only gave it up when my rear suspension fell out!

I love it when you make car videos. Usually I'm not super into car videos but the ones you make are fun to watch
