We all had 95% of these cards. Great era, and was so much fun to collect and trade. Call it Junk wax or whatever you want now. Who cares. Fun times and a ton of memories. Great video

It was great because we were kids ..would of been greater if the cards held some value 😂 the card company’s ripped us off mass producing cards
Love all your videos, but ones like these, where you go through random binders/totes/etc are my favorite.

Looks like mostly junk from the junk years 1986-1995 where they just churned out each card in the millions and millions. BUT the graded ones of those years still sell real well! My dad has so many unopened boxes from 1987 to 1991. I have opened all of them except for about 15-20 boxes of mixed rack, and wax packs from 1989 topps. In the ones I have opened I just put Griffey aside as well as Randy Johnson and other notable rookies. About 10% of those are 10s. I have sent some of the ones I think are 10s (perfect record when guessing, and grading myself). I just started with my pokemon cards from 2014-2017. I have quite a few that are worth a couple thousand each that I think will be a PSA10. I have about 25 Pokemon XY Evolutions Charizard holo and about 10 or so reverse hollow that I would score a 10. That's about $50,000 right there as long as I don't flood the market. I will sell one or two a month. I noticed that the regular holos are worth more than the EX/GX cards. So my first submission was 79 cards total to PSA. About 25 charizard holo, 10 reverse holo. Those fetch about $2000 to $2500 for holo. and $150-$250 for reverse holo. About 10 of each Clefairy, and Chansey holos that are most likely 10s. I didn't send off the reverse holos of those yet. Those are worth on average $500 to $800 each as long as I don't flood the market. The other 20 were cards like shattered ice Pikachu and non holo Raichu from XY. They are $100 to about $500 cards there. I am looking at getting about $70,000 for my first load. The turn around time is terrible (90-120 days but a few weeks after sending I noticed they are in grading stage so maybe I will get them back sooner). For my baseball load I am personally grading before sending to be graded by PSA.... It's going to be awesome though, because we collected Leaf cards as well as normal Donruss. So I have a boat load of 1985 leaf, and 1987 leaf. 10 or so Clemens and 10 or so Puckett 1985 leaf which are worth a ton. Seen them sell on ebay for about $2500-$4000 each. So many cards. I had to buy 30 card shoebox that holds 800 cards. I have a box packed tight (with top loaders) of about 600 Randy Johnson topps, fleer (no marlboro sign, but I did get a bunch with the black box partially covering it) score and donruss. and Ken Griffey donruss/fleer/upper deck. Another 800 Maddux/Glavine/Smoltz rookies. I have about 10 or so of the fleer update Glavine card, and 10 or so Leaf 1987 Greg Maddux. As for Smoltz I have about 800 of him. Almost filled a shoebox. It's taken me a few months to open all these boxes, and I still have quite a bit. If you would like to show me hit me up with an address and I will show ya pics. Or I can just make a video to show you. It's crazy all the stuff we collected as a kid. Oh I have quote a few 1958-1960 topps. Only 3 mickey Mantles though. All about PSA 5 or 6. With the old cards I am sending them to SGC. I have a couple Drysdale 1957 Rookies, and a Duke Snider second year in good shape. Mostly second tier stars though, they still fetch a lot if graded well though. I will make a video tomorrow and put on my channel. It's crazy all the stuff I found.
Phil Plantier or as my dad called him...Mr. Warning Track.
I think we can all agree, regardless of how many of the same cards we get, getting a haul like that never gets old. Congrats.
You have the voice of a sportscaster. Especially the way you said “Todd Hundley” like Gary Thorne would.
These bring back the memories of when I started collecting with my dad. He kept collecting and I stopped. Just started back up a couple of weeks ago.
Good value. I love sorting and going through collections.
Takes us back to the good ol days
That Leaf Griffey in the screw down is a nice one.
This reminds me of my own collection. Spent thousands of dollars on cards in the late 80s / early 90s and now it's worth pennies on the dollar. The memories however are priceless.

Nice 87 Bonds cards!
Great video and great cards. Heck of a pickup. I actually have that exact Black binder (at 15:58) from when I was collecting in the 90's. Such a fun video, thanks for sharing!!
Great video. Going through all of my old stuff now. Daunting task for sure.
Great video, like always. Love your channel
Great video, really enjoy seeing the mysteries hidden within.
That was fun thanks. Nice tip on the Griffey Holo centering. 🐢
I never find these sales, you got some very good cards just from the binders for $ 300.00 dollars. The unopened wax or boxes will add to the value.
I sat through the whole video, lol. that shoebox saved your purchase.

Between the 93 Topps set and the Griffey, that’s nearly half the value of what I paid. Now I have a nice chunk of sets for the store.

@@thepastisalive cool.
I got Jeff Hammond out the only time I faced him in an American Legion game way back in the day... good memory... this was a fun watch. So much from my late high school / early college collecting days
Al Pedrique! 🤣🤣 Cool stuff. Nice looking Griffey. Thanks for sharing.
What a nostalgic trip. This was the heyday of my collecting. I had the majority of those cards. The only baseball card that I wanted that eluded me back then was the 89 Upper Deck Griffey. Also, I still have my Mark Grace and Gregg Jefferies cards from back then as they were/are my favorites of all time.
Really fun video. Sweet Griffey!
I think you got a great deal on this collection. Thanks for sharing!
Liking that '93 Topps set. And all the Griffey rookies.
My favorite was the dead rubberband in the bottom of the Keds shoebox. goodstuff
Love the video and good buy!!
I remember the peak of the Gregg Jeffries craze, with my favorite dealer assuring me the value "will never go down." I bought about 20 loafs of bread, can't remember the brand, because Gregg's card was in them.

Totally worth it for the Bonds rookies and the Griffey Upper Deck. I also like the sealed sets, those are always fun to pick up. I'm surprised there wasn't a Dennis Cook in a screw down case, I thought everyone had one in their collection.
Holy smokes amazing Haul
Man epic rookie collection buddy! Awesome pick up! All those Bonds and Griffey’s have me drooling for sure lol. Well done buddy.

Sweet stuff Jon!
Both Griffey cards are nice. 1993 Topps factory is nice with the Jeter rookie card and chance to get his gold rookie. Think you get 100 for set. Sold my sets like 1990 Score, 80' Donruss and Fleer update and those classic packs last year. Thought it might have been my stuff for a second.
I’m 38 so this was right during the height of my childhood collecting lol
I so wish i could do this all the time!!! Congrats man!
You hooked me in when you said there was a Phil Plantier in a screw down, lol. Great vid 👍

Great purchase- junk wax or not. Definitely worth 300$ The Griffey fetches 50$ easy on Ebay. Lotta nice Bond rookies too. The Bo jackson traded still is valuable. Love the random Ho Jo rookie! All around great buy. I'm jealous
Good value. That was a fun one to watch
I ended up going to the National today with Jeff Airtime and his wife. jeff picked a Big Boy football card and could not settle on a Big Boy baseball card. I however did score a box of 1990 topps wax for 35 bucks
I would be happy with those binders. I could careless if those cards are worth anything now. It's the baseball players I loved watching growing up that made me fall in love with baseball.
All good stuff, I have most of this as well. Can't seem to part with it. 4🤣
Wow! lots of great rookies Bonds and Griffey's 🔥
Liked the Griifey and all the Bonds Rookies. Also thought the Thomas Minor leave card was really cool I have an Albert Pujols 2004 just Minors. Always wondered why they weren’t worth more.
that is sweet man. You got lots of good stuff
It’s really weird that the oldest card was the Howard Johnson? How did no random older cards not get in that box?
You need to gift Erik that ‘91 Fleer Set! 🤣
The Lou Brock and the Henderson underdeck I believe 1990 there where 3 or 4 of them in that shoe box the error and correct where in there the date is missing off of the base they are holding in the picture
Terrific purchase!
I saw a Steve Martin card in there and instantly thought of a banjo playing SNL guy 😁 I would have definitely paid 300 for it, good value. 😎👊
This brought back a lot of good memories from when I was a kid and collecting, I had pretty much everything you show in this video. Had such a good time watching and seeing these old sets again. You going to make me go to my parents and get up in the attic and pull down all my cards. Great video as usual and thanks for Keeping the Past Alive for us!!!

@@thepastisalive going there for Sunday dinner, you know I will.
Great video
those brock/henderson upper deck were mixed error and corrected cards, the error is the date is missing from the top of the base they are holding.
I would have bought it. Lots of junk wax gems. Games and magazines were a nice bonus. I'm not familiar with the Line Drive set. Never could get my hands on Traded cards as a kid either.
It would have been worth it for the Expos cards for me.. There might be a few Jays or Canadians I don't have. Love the minor league cards. I don't know why but seeing the uniforms and the progression of them over the years is neat.
When i was a kid, i thought i was going to be able to retire off of my baseball card collection(junk wax era only). Little did i know they have no value other than sentimental value of my childhood.
A lot of nice factory sets there! Just those are worth the $300!
I actually pulled the Mike Schmidt auto from Classic as a kid. I think it was out of 10,000 hand numbered. But my brother stole it and sold it. Lol

That’s an awesome pull! Still makes for a good story though. Those are tough
You really didn't do bad at all. A lot of those singles are not worth the paper they're on. Some of the star rookies from the 80s like your Barry Bonds have had a recent surge in value. The Ken Griffey Jr rookies are always a plus especially the Upper Deck. That 1993 Topps factory set is a gem. There's a few more sets and cards too. So I'd say you did very well. I started collecting a few years before you did and yes I remember all of those can't miss prospects that I was buying as well.
Good buy.
You should do OK on these...did you hide the '87 Topps Bonds from Erik????
Definitely would have grabbed that 300 out of my pocket so fast to buy them lol but as you said the griffey is the favorite my favorite baseball player and I just broke some 91 UD yesterday got a griffey and all the stars on that set even the bo Jackson error and jordan. I ordered the 90 ud box today
Saw a few Griffey 90 Donruss. My question is, do you put any stock in the pink dots or no -.- periods ?
I definitely got that Edgar tino Martinez error in a collection i got awhile back
Fun fact....An old stale Ritz cracker is worth more then a Kevin Ritz card. Great stuff, fun to go through.

Looks like most of the ones that would have been missing from the boxes were in the binders, so that's a plus
Rookie Investment Guide 🚀 📈
Well done
You might have gold card in the 1993 topps set Derek jeter
maybe the missing cards from the update set boxes are in those pages.
The 1989 UD Griffey in a PSA 9 would pay for 1/2 your purchase alone.
Also, if you're down to get rid of some Gregg Jefferies, Mark Grace or Wally Joyner cards, let me know. I"m down to try to get all of those cards again. There were a few I know I didn't ever have but would love to own now.
looks like the missing update set cards are in the binders
I guess if you get enough junk it's worth $300. It would be impossible to break 8t down and sell for $300. The 89 Griffey UD is the only decent card. I'd have to see how it grades out at PSA
Did you notice the Griffey card in center of that page.(Topps)it may contain the red scar on the arm version.
Looks exactly like my collection. 🤣
33:08 monster noise blackout wipe gave me a heart attack as I was dozing off listening to the video.

Junk wax galore my friend a lot more stuff for your shop
So you barely paused on the big rookie cards like Bonds and Griffey (other than the 89 UD in the screw-down) because they are overproduced junk wax and hence not worth much?

did you try to get him down?
I thought it was J.T. Slow :D
The 1993 Topps Set could be valuable if Jeter is there and it's sealed
Check that 89 upper deck Dale Murphy and see if it's reversed. That card is quite rare
i love your videos but ken griffey jr cards are amazing
"91 Fleer, nobody's favorite". I think we know someone who might disagree! Lol
Enjoyed watching the hunt, but not sure I would’ve paid $300 for that box…
How much do you anticipate making from flipping? Any cards worth grading?

I'm pretty poor but seriously considering getting back into collecting. Don't have a set of 88 Score you're willing to part with, by any chance? It was my favorite back in the day and I figure it's a good starting point.
