RIP 200 😂 Just a thought on the charging system, with the rectifier/reg not charging, you may want to double check the ground, some of the powder coat might need to be scraped off to get a real good ground. A quick continuity test from the regulator to the frame would tell you.

I started tweaking when i saw the twisted no solder wire connections, Mista pavich please keep the wires straight, then twist them, pre tin the ends, solder them together. once that's sorted heatshrink them. Then everyone will marvel over your wiring. Also, shame that the 200 blew up, its a cool bike.

im not an engine tuner but I do know suspension very well, something I've learned working on suspension, when you get where you think feels good (in your case you felt like it was rich enough) adjust the setting even more until it starts to not feel good, then dial it back just enough to be near that edge, in the suspension world this tends to the best setup I imagine its very similar in the engine world,

I won't say anything negative about metering rod carbs. I'll leave that to others with common lean conditions. These carbs also need riders with carb tuning experience. Experience with lean and rich characteristics keeps you from either seizing or changing plugs all day. I will mention that I already recommended a STIC Super X carb, as it stomps my SC and PWK.

Unless you want to clean under it don't remove the plate. Tokyo offroad has a slick kit (others also make them). Might be that the skid covers the bolt, but lay the bike over, pull the bolt and screw in an insert with a hose attached. Lean the bike over and let it drain. My plate comes off easy for the 300, but I still have one and its nice. My wifes, 13 200 has those rad guards. I'm replacing them with different ones. They mounting on the rad guards is horrible. It throws the shrouds out a touch... she has broken both the mounts. New shrouds and like some trail tech guards.

You know the fan system being a all loss system isn’t the biggest deal in my opinion. I have a light on my old yz80 I mocked up and it’s a all loss system. I custom made my own 18650 battery and I made wires long enough for a connector to go outside of my bike for when its on the stand and I plug it in. That’s what I do and it just works. It was a big deal in the beginning but you could maybe figure out a way to put on a bigger stator or try to lower the speed of the fans to Lower the draw. You might be able to turn the fans down and still keep the bike cool. Ride safe.

Hey Kincade, sucks you blew up that bike, but hey at least you’ll learn something from it. Going on in the future I reccomend to you to run 32:1. It’s a lot safer ratio, and in simple terms, why run less oil in your gas just because. I use amsoil dominator and have had really good luck at 32:1, ever fouled a single plug on it and it burns really clean. Give it a shot and see if it helps! Good luck and I hope to see you rippin that 200 again soon!

That sucks..looks like you were having a great time. My son put a smart carb on his bike. He is having all sorts of trouble with it. He is not new to 2 strokes. Pretty frustrated. I wont be running one. All things being the same a 32:1 fuel/oil ratio will be leaner than 50:1. Oil displaces gas. 150:1 even richer but the engine seizes from lack of lubrication. Old guy thoughts.... What likely got you was riding that newly rebuilt machine with a bunch of other dudes on a big ride. Thorough shake down ride.. new plug, initial WOT plug read/ adjustment. then check everything often. Make sure its dialed, then go with the bros.

From what I understand your oil ratio is dependent on the oil you use. Low quality oil 32-40:1. High quality oil like Ams oil Saber say you can run at 100 :1 I've watched plenty of people on yt that say there bike is just fine running 100:1. Me personally I use motorex oil in all my 2 stroke bikes. My kx says I should run at 32:1 buy motrex says not to run any lower than 40:1 I've had no issues. Last thing if ams oil Saber said you could run 100:1, it been out for a few years now. I'm sure we would have heard something about a bunch of bikes blowing up if that ratio was causing damage

As a fellow SmartCarb user I think this may have been caused by the ratio of your fuel. I think the SmartCarbs are sent from them with intentions to be used at 32:1 and you could have used the 50:1 but with extreme clicks richer and checking your plugs multiple times. Either way its to late to save her and I'm sure it'll be back and better!

I have a KTM 200cc from 2005 myself that I am doing a full supermoto rebuild on with a white theme like yours. I am just really strugling with finding a clear tank like yours instead of the originally orange tank. Do you know where it could be possible to buy one like yours?

This is the IMS 3.2 gallon tank. If you watch back previous episode of the build series, you'll see the modifications that needed to be made to make it fit. It's very close, but not perfectly intended for this frame.

Two-stokes never blow up with a decent amount of oil in the fuel. I never ever run less than 25-1... ever... I am 63, been riding since I was 11... oil transfers heat to the cylinder liner as well as lubricating....

IME, 200's do not overheat and I rode for years doing all day loops in mountains where even 500 xc's ran 5 psi rear tire pressure. Most noobs turnt back. The regulars ran 100% anti-freeze and fans. My 200 had no special preparation, 250 and 300 that didn't always boiled and headed back to camp. Just sayin'

And then you can hear that thing was way too lean badass bike good build and you got to remember those older bikes don't like 50 to 1 they like 32 or more

  • @user-ln9cz5hr3k
    @user-ln9cz5hr3k2 ай бұрын

The bottom end is way too lean, sounds hollow . Then your mid throttle rips like its the fast kind of lean and fades to way too lean on the top. A two stroke carb runs great with a rich mid to ramp up into the rpms as the pipe hits up top its good to be a little rich, then a power jet leans out the top for more revs once the motor cleans out. I never heard your motor clean out it was too crisp in the mid and no power up top

  • @claytonackley5228

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but even if you have a thicker oil type 50:1 is always to lean

So, with mixing fuel, if it’s a little too greasy it smokes and might not be quite as powerful. If it’s not greasy enough, it starves the machine for lubricants.

Probably didn’t work because there’s paint on the frame, try and sand it down and try ground it again, it should work. Doesn’t get a good ground with the paint on the chassis

Second ride? Why did the thing fail? This question is the one that MUST be answered to the fullest extent possible. Otherwise, all we do is throw parts for a repeat. Might want to get into a break in regimen with any internal combustion engine, makes all the difference in longevity.
