I do it all the time. I recommend everyone try it once and then watch it back enough times to notice the people in the background and you’ll notice that they aren’t paying any attention to you.

@@PointlessNostalgia The one time I tried it I had a family of five staring over their shoulders at me ever fifteen seconds while the young daughter just drilled holes into my soul as if asking, "Why the fuck is this guy talking about food to himself?", it was mortifying.

The collab is even worse when you take into consideration that every item on the Sonic menu is just an item from the regular menu.

Seriously, I would have been so disappointed after driving out of my way. I know it's probably impossible to expect them to carry super specific items for a temporary collab but what, they couldn't even ship them some Sonic shaped pancake stamps? Like, I could take some tin foil and make those at home and it would be more in the spirit.

If you take a look at the regular menu online, you'll quickly realize that the Sonic menu items are just regular menu options with Sonic and friends' names slapped on them.

​@@theletters9623 They didn't used to be which makes these sad. When I was a kid I remember how they had limited time items they came up with for the collabs. They were variations on what they normally had but would have something like limited time sauces or flavors that weren't usually available. Then again they used to have a bunch of syrup flavors available too so things are definitely not quite as good, not that they were ever great.

Thank you so much for pointing out that this whole "edgelord" thing about Shadow is 100% fanon--I've long been sick of people calling him "edgy" because of that one single stupid misguided game giving him a gun and because too many people can't tell a character with deep-rooted trauma from an edgelord.

Probably licensing costs to do a collaboration as the investors would likely want a kickback to SEGA or whoever who still owns the IP rights to games these days.

cause Sonic Drive-In is awful tbh, like they put the least effort possible when they add things to a menu. at least Taco Bell has had some home run sluggers with the Doritos Locos Tacos and Cinnabon Delights. Sonic's would've just slapped the blue blur's name on their pathetic Chili Dog and called it a day, IHOP for the most part TRIED. A- for Effort, woulda been plus but they did my boy Tails dirty and i have to slight them for doing so.

it's not bad, the Chocolate Pancakes was a solid choice, but there shoulda been a bit of Whipped cream for the Chest Fluff and Raspberry Sauce for the Red in his hair. Chocolate and Raspberry are said to vibe, so i think they coulda done better.

"go ahead and be a little chaotic" to describe the most basic chocolate pancakes to ever exist is easily the funniest thing ive heard all week.

Another sonic-themed food video idea, there's an entire official sonic the hedgehog cookbook with stuff that's a LOT more accurate to the characters. The recipes are pretty involved, but there's some really good stuff in there that's pretty fun to make.

It is easy to forget he gets nervous after seeing him do stuff like running down the road in a frog costume or ghost riding the whip.

Not all heroes wear capes. Some just film themselves eating copious amounts of themed food in a public setting. Peebs, we salute you.

Yeah, the biggest problem with these collaborations that IHOP does with other properties is that the dishes are something that was already available on their menu just with a character attached to it. Nothing really all that special, although I do remember the Illumination Grinch movie tie-in they had a few years back was actually fun to get since the theming of the food was far better.

These are a far cry from Japanese themed cafes

I can tell you from experience, Denny's did a WAY better Sonic promotion, back in '99. It was for Sonic Underground of all things. They had a HUGE cutout display, ceiling displays and, best of all, plushies of Sonic and Knuckles. I still have, said plushies.

I feel you about wanting some kind of bonus goodie. I went to Arby’s last year to try the Good Burger 2 meal and the burger wrapper had a custom sticker advertising Good Burger 2, so I peeled it off and stuck it on my wall at home as a souvenir.

You've eaten the Sonic menu items. Now you have to become Sonic himself by eating at Olive Garden for 1 week.

I think the Shadow stack comes in 4 because of that darn chaos emerald.

I think like 2 or 3 years ago there was some podcast thing in both japanese and english where they said the full name is Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik. So you were correct. TBH both names have a charm to them.

Props to you for overcoming your embarrassment to film in public! Definitely liked the change of pace with this field trip video (and honestly I may try the Dr. Eggman meal because of this). If I may make a suggestion for a future video, my younger brother and I recently found and tried these breakfast themed Cup Noodles (sausage, egg and pancakes flavor, and an everything bagel with cream cheese flavor). The whole time I was going "wow this is just like PGB..." In any case, it could be a fun idea to find and try other weird flavors of Cup Noodles (and other ramen brands)!

That chicken sandwich looks good, not something I'd normally order from a place like IHOP but may have to give it a shot.

I had this playing on my TV, my nearly 80yo dad sees pbg and immediately said he looks like shaggy 😂

My favorite breakfast: Fluffy buttermilk pancakes, with LOTS of melted butter, salt & peppered over medium eggs on top, VERY GENEROUS drizzle of honey, and maple sausage links on the side. 😋

I had the Eggman's Benedict and Shadow Chaos Pancakes this morning, and they were amazing!

So, this is the American equivalent of a video game/anime collab cafe? Honestly, the food looked okay. But it needed something more in terms of aesthetics. A merch store might have been nice too.
