40 years ago, as a student I flew all around Europe for free on private jets and usually ending up quite close to my intended destination. Would walk into the Flight Planning office (FIO) and ask if anyone was going close to here or there. As they started to know me at airports, all I needed to do was call them up and continue enjoying my day until the lucky flight was found. Off course, I could mostly only fly on “empty leg” positioning flights. Most of the time it worked. One of my favored “lines” was the Luton-Geneva-Luton daily flight which brought the daily UK papers. Those were different times..

I’m now 63 and when I was 19 I hitched a ride on a plane in Alaska from Homer to Kodiak. No KZread, no McDonald’s but I did make the pilot PB&J, Great Video!

Haha amazing! My friend and I once hitched a car ride with two pilots. Turns out they were headed to the airport to pick up a private jet and flying the way we wanted to travel. End result was hitchhiking on a private jet too!

Airport security obviously isn't a joke, but the conduct of the folks at Biggin Hill was quite staggering - why is a marketing type pretending to be a security guard? That 'footpath by public road = private land' claim also sounds a bit iffy to me. Airport 2 seemed to be spot on with their response, calm and factual but thankfully a minute too late and the payoff for you at the end was fantastic - lovely work!

because their target market most likely isn't anyone watching any of these videos lol. Private jet flights exist for a reason. The passengers for whatever reason are paying extra to not go through regular airports & flights. Any of those employees and pilots can instantly lose their job if they even utter a word about who the passengers are. Even paying passengers are forbidden from filming inside FBO terminals, or forbidden from any angles that show anyone else but themselves.

@@ZacAlsop As if Ive blanked Zac Alsop for 6 days, sorry man! so we were on a flight at heathrow about to take off, one of the engines blew up so that was cancelled, so back in the queues trying to sort flights out (kaliningrad) and the game was the same day. anyway there were no flights or possibilities at all, but these 5 chaps in front were chatting with us, their main man actually bought them all 5 flights to st petersburg there and then, I said mate its not possible, he didnt care! anyway we left them our number incase anything popped up, then we started driving back and my dad got a phone call saying meet us at luton signature, we said nah its not possible there are no flights, maytee goes yeah ive bought a private jet so we got there. anyway the next issue was getting a landing slot in Russia, but the man who bought it was actually friends with some top music folk like calvin harris, tiesto etc, he said if we cant go russia, well go ibiza and meet these! we got to russia in the end (unfortunately haha), anyway, England lost then we got our normal flights home, x4 of them! kaliningrad to arkhangelsk, Ark to st petersburg, st petersburg to helksinki then back to heathrow, then a train from heathrow back to luton. Im not a drinker so I sat in the cockpit with the 2 pilots all the way. funny thing is my dad has a company and we did offer to pay out cut but they said no way! bit of a different way to your story though!!

This video proves two things. 1. Zac is the embodiment of persistence. The embodiment of the rule to keep at it, never give up and stick to your goal. 2. Contracted security are dicks. The people who pay their salary are often far more personally secure in their ability to make basic reasonably decisions. As an example, Slug & Lettuce pub security told me tonight that I couldn’t bring raw sausages and bacon (in Sainsbury’s carrier bag) into the pub because “food wasn’t allowed”! Dumbass security not using their brain. Love the vids, Zac. Keep them coming but more regularly if possible.
