The fact that the buyer practically bought rainwater made me cringe.
honestly as far as art pieces are concerned i find it quite charming. maybe the whole moss at the bottom could be improved a bit, the fogmachine could probably be hidden in a better way, incorporate some better lighting and such as well, but if we ignore details such as that i think its pretty cool. sure technically its a fogmachine making fog BUT the fact the water being fogged up was directly gathered from a cloud does make it neat. visually i think thats more of a conversation piece and interesting thing to look at than a painting is.

i’m sorry for everything you’ve been through, God really wants to let you know that He loves you so much. He sent his one and only Son down, Jesus Christ, to die for you and i while we were still living in sin. With Him you can be made new, you are covered with the Precious Blood of Jesus. Following Him is not going to be easy, cutting off sin, changing ways that you live in sin and/or cutting off friends. Not living like the world can be hard in the beginning. But it really is worth it. Please start reading the Bible and pray to receive Him im in a way that is undeniable. Because He will make Himself known to you. i say this to you in love and compassion. Jesus loves you and start to live for Him. It will be the best opportunity of your life.

Im not gonna lie, I definitely accept thst as an art piece. Its not just some banana taped to a wall or buckets falling over or a roller coaster in a musuem. Its something meaningful where the person went through tons of trial and error to get up truly into the skies to capture a cloud and bring it back down and technically preserve it as a cloud. I think thats actually cool as hell and would love to have one if the price wasnt thousands. Nice.

@TheCerealArsonist If you actually watch the video he buys a fog machine which is 12 bucks and a fish tank I would estimate 50 bucks and a banana is like 50 cents to a dollar with a piece of scotch tape that is probably like 4 cents, so no a banana is NOT worth more then 62 dollars, plus the meaning and story behind it easy pumps it up to the 3000 dollar price that it displays
There is another way that would have made your piece much more amazing to look at. The Science is 20 years in my past now, but I remember in class making an actual cloud in a jar and it just required the debris (motes of dust or ash, really, for the moisture to collect upon), and a change in the pressure between inside of the jar and the outside classroom. The results look amazing, like a miniature cloud in a jar. Your cloud being taken from the sky and then turned into this cloud-in-a-jar form would have visually looked the part, in my opinion, much more than a fog machine. The result floats in the center of the jar and is literally a miniature cloud. Edit: I forgot to say I'd spend a zillion dollars on that. The idea of a cloud straight from the sky is fascinating, and your video from way up there is incredible.
I am obsessed with unique art that tells a story and if its got some magic in it, even better, so I have to say, the idea of a cloud caught in a bag and then put in a box is the coolest thing I have ever seen. I think its very underrated. Im so happy for you though. Im happy to see people like that guy who appreciates it too.
I love how this video can be used as a certificate of authenticity for the buyer. It captures every part of the process and it's a bit like an artwork itself. Honestly mate you got yourself a new sub, banger content mate. Only question is how come to you didn't name your art piece 😢❤

Silliness aside, this was actually really sweet I think and the buyer seemed really happy with it. It's quite a cool thing to own, the story behind it and this video as proof make it super interesting. Most people who really, genuinely appreciate art are more emotionally invested than financially invested (if that makes sense). Okay, this is actually awesome! The piece looks quite decent aswell, especially the story is awesome
Art is about selling an idea to someone to look, appreciate and gander at. You actually gathered moisture from a cloud, create a interesting containment and device to properly demonstrate the piece and what you were going for. "Being able to take a piece of cloud and display it". Then documented it all the way so even the buyer can see this video and the effort and work you went through documenting your efforts in a entertaining video for the masses of that piece. That's a masterful job at art. Unlike a banana with duct tape or shredding art at its purchase.

More interesting than any modern art piece i've seen. Even just putting a mister into a glass box is quite interesting, to have 'i've captured a cloud' on top of that, it captures the imagination.
i just love this guy so much, he's so dedicated to give us the best and genuine content ever. all love from Latin america
I wonder if the piece would have benefited from a hydrophobic treatment to the interior of the glass casing. That would have resulted in a more sustainable cloud without any fog. Probably could've sold for more.
Congralutions John!!!
For a lot of pieces of modern art, it's more or less about the concept and journey behind it rather than the actual physical piece itself. While the initial words of catching a cloud in a bag and selling it as art sounds dumb, art collectors/appreciators could see it as a man trying to make his childhood dreams of having a cloud in a jar a reality. It's like how you can wear almost anything to a high fashion show and people will be able to appreciate it because they interpret it in their own way.

@@ryanscoffeehour6404 Everyone is allowed to their own opinion on what is good or bad art, but to deny any kind of art is to deny the concept of art itself. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so therefore, anything can be art. By your definition, no piece of art would actually be art because every artpiece, whether it's a drawing, sculpture, or music is an idea inspired by something else. Art is ultimately the expression of one's self and Zac did just that in this video. Was HIS idea of catching a cloud and putting it in a jar not an expression of what HE thinks? Was the action of physically going into the clouds with a bag and gathering the condensation with his hands not HIS expression of how he wanted to do it? Was presenting it the way he did not HIS expression of what is art? This entire video was all created by his ideas and that's what makes it art.
@ryanscoffeehour6404
9 ай бұрын
@@DeadBeatDex no, everything you have said is either wrong, heavily misconstrued and twisted or completely grasping at straws. But I will be more than happy to go through piece by piece and shred everything you have said into a million fine little pieces. This will be fun... First, and foremost let me dissect and rip apart the "everything and anything can be art". Let's start by breaking down what art is. Art is; "the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power." Or it can be a synonym for passing skill in a subject. Ex. The art of fencing. This is what art is. There is an art(skill) to paragliding, but paragliding isn't art. The paragliding sail can be art but the act of doing so is not. To claim "something that isn't of a creation is not art", isn't discounting all art but upholding the very values, definitions and standard of what art is. Not everything is art. Putting dirt in a Jar isn't art, and that is effectively the same concept as putting water in a bag. Secondly, "By your definition no piece of art is art because all art is inspired." For 1. I didnt give you the definition before now. 2. Never did I bring up inspired art. 3. You put words in my mouth. 4. I just now gave you the definition of art and no where did I exclude inspiration. 5. The fact that you actually wrote that knowing there is no context for it being said is fucking stupid. Third, No he is not the first person to sail and catch a cloud, you'd be moronic to believe so. No, sailing to grab a cloud isn't his expression of doing so. There is literally no other way to get that high unless using a form of technology that is similar in practice or a hot air balloon. He simply made a choice on the easiest technology to obtain in order to reach that altitude. Fourth of all, "Beauty in the eye of the beholder" doesnt mean everything can be art, what it means is anyone can like any type of art regardless of style or technique. Surrealism is a form of art many people enjoy, some find it sloppy and talentless. Some people prefer realism and find beauty in art there, some people consider it copying without tracing. This is the thematical understanding of "in the eye of the beholder". Here's a little 4.5 for ya...May it be true that all art made will grab the attention and admiration of someone to behold it, and that this part of art is subjective is true. However, this does not mean all art is good art. Any creation one makes can be loved by anyone no matter the level of skill however that does not mean there is no objectivity to art, which there very much is. Techniques, lighting, framing, composition and the likes of which are all objective realities in art. These are things that can be pointed out and said "that is bad work". A stick figure, lazily drawn is not an art style, its bad drawing. A self portrait meant to convey realism, meanwhile is full of off measured proportions is objectivily bad realism. The only bit of this video that is art is the actual video itself, not whats done in the video but the actual video. The editing, framing, lighting, pacing, narration and sound design these things are all art. Grabbing a bag of fucking moisture out of the air is not. Self expression is only 3/4ths of art. The other 1/4 is skill, talent and knowledge in the arts. Something you do not have. I wish I can say your comment was deep and insightful, something that took deep contemplation before responding to, but it was none of those things. In was nothing. It was you making up false definitions and talking about shit you dont know anything about, but hey...at least I had fun. -An actual artist who specializes in surrealism, and realism, of human anatomy and sculpting and has made some money doing so(rarely sells)

an art piece that looks good, has a great story, is super unique and comes with a video that not only confirms its true but it adds a unique value of itself. mate, that priece is a steal. and if you came from artistic background or you continued as an artist then the value would only grew. honestly, well done
I know it's difficult and it causes burnout , but I would love to see more videos posted cause I look forward every time u post
That would be majestic to me...if I could take a flight into the clouds and capture a cloud that wouod be on my bucket list!

Subbed to you I love your content. Been checking out a few videos and this one is my favourite. Love the cloud concept and how you displayed it in its box beautifully. Great artwork you should be proud of the whole thing. Keep with the great content thank you
congrats josh!!! also, this reminds me of an old episode of Doug, where he's given a jar of air from the top of some mountain. i think the art piece is really nice, tbh
