Every single man I ever met that went to combat came home a different individual including my own Dad. I tried to remain friends and have a normal relationship, but they were never the same. The human cost of war is greater than any other cost.

I Am That Man (seriously, I am that man), a U.S. Army veteran. To this day I still struggle to “fit in” with society. I haven’t had a close relationship since 1992 (I served in the 80’s). Unfortunately, some of us never fully come back. I am glad this movie had a happy ending, while it depicted the distance, and the journey back so well it broke my heart. What I can say, is the VA literally saved my life. I am in many kinds of counseling (PTSD, bi-polar ll, anxiety disorder, severe depression) and take a mountain of meds, just to get through the day. And I survive. Thank you MC, for posting this movie for free (though it made me cry). If you love your freedom, thank a soldier. And we do love to hear “thank you for your service”, sometimes it’s the only thing to brighten my day.

A true American who gave his time and lives for this country, I like this movie. Remind me a friend of my, who serve Iraq and Afghanistan.

I was lucky,my Father was a 30 year Army officer and prepared me for what I faced as a SEAL. I only served 6 in the Regular Navy,but then worked another 25 as a private contractor. Remember one of the things Dad said " There are no winners in war,only survivor's."

My dad served in the Army he's was a Veteran before he passed last year at 80yrs old, he is missed every day!💐 This was a very good movie I enjoyed it, thanks to all that are serving and has served!❤️❤️ Thanks for sharing this movie🥰

I am grateful for all of our protesters that opposed and held the line. They swam against the tide of nationalism, for decades. They refused to let the sheople cowering in fear from Japanese citizens of these united States, they opposed the lynching of innocent Italians in Louisiana. The mistreatment and segregation of the Chinese in SF. The murder of so many No. Viet namese citizens who simply held differing ideas about how to govern their own nation. The few who defended the natives through five centuries of slaughter, rape, theft and abuse by European insurgents, arrogantly puffed up by their chance of superior arms and tech. The few who defended enslaved peoples, victims of man-stealing which the European's own sacred scriptures condemned. These defenders and victims alike are healed by refusing to live in fear, greed, delusion, guilt or shame of an idea plaguing our species for aeons: 'god'.

Are these the same veterans who killed a million Iraqis because of the WMDs? And still they didn't find it. Or maybe the Millions of Vietnamese murdered by AmeriKKKan troops. And the list goes on.

1,770,000 people viewed a nice free movie and couldn't even bother to give a thumbs up.

The calmness about it was enjoyable, as a former soldier it's great to see less violence in these ex-seal movies. I enjoyed it.

It seems unlikely that you'll ever get to read this Matthew Marsden, but I really enjoyed this film. And then I found out that not only did you write direct and act in it but it was your first directorial film. This was easily as good as films that grossed hundreds of millions of dollars. The character development was very satisfying, I was about to give up hope on his wife but she came through! And then she came through way harder later! It was poignant and hard to watch for a while, because I too have had to say " I can't help" to veterans. At least in that position I could feed them. Wasn't all dark though I was able to help a few, but it is sad that they have to depend on the kindness of strangers rather than rely on the promises of a Nation. Not to mention that our little non-profit lost its funding and now I don't know where they eat.

How so ?

I was drafted in 1971. U.S. Army first infantry division, fifth field artillery, I met many men who came back from Vietnam in 1971 and 72. Some of them became my friends. I wish I could say I understand them. But then. I don’t think I really want to go that far down the rabbit hole. My respects to all who serve. 🇺🇸

I have no combat experience. But I do have friends who grew to be brothers who always had my back. When you go through your wars you always come out changed. Life has a way of taking you through the trenches. The spirit of being a worrier is real and runs deep. I salute all men and women who have been in the battles and coming back home are again in the battles to find their peace and normal.🇿🇼

Great movie.. Whoever read this and you have served in the military or still serving...THANKYOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!! 👍

A very good movie which shows the problems those people has after service. I enjoyed a lot his "wife" because she is not leaving him, she moved out, and she said: "he is my husband". Respect to "help" him like this and not stopping this relation. She is still hoping and is not breaking. Thank you very much. Thanks for this movie.

Thank you Matthew. This movie brought me back to being who I really am. A Soldier. I forgot how to be a Soldier. Not in the sense that I forgot all the discipline & all the training. But that I put it all like in a back burner. Now I've taken it all out that back burner & using it all for the good. Thanks again sir. Once a Soldier Always a Soldier! 🪖

My father was in the Korean War. He came home, and he died in a helicopter crash with 4 other officers. I was then adopted by my Uncle who served in World War 2 and survived. He served in the Marines. I am very proud that I grew up in a Military serving family who loved God , family, and our Country.

My uncle was in the Battle of the bulge, survived. my 3 brothers and I served, 1 Army. 1 National Guard, younger brother and I Air Force. Grandfather went to Texas for Spanish American war, was sent home because of flat feet. My dad, well he had 4 sons during WW II, did not serve in military but he kept all those lonely military wives, at home waiting for their servicemen husband, happy. He's probably in hell now.

As a British military veteran from many years ago I have great respect for all current and ex military men and women. Active service is what it is, some can't cope while others can, it's not something you can control, bad dreams are not avoidable. My biggest regret is leaving my buddies, the finest and most loyal friends you will ever know.

It's the countries with free thinking soldiers that defeated the brainwashed dictatorship troops many times over, it's free thinking that made the British military a force to be feared.

WONDERFUL!!!! Great story. Great plot. Great action. Great acting. I haven't been in the military. I know a lot of people who have. And THIS is what they look like to me. REAL PATRIOTS!!!!

Their is a lot of things I just love about this movie. I love that the car dealership got what they deserved. And I loved the ending. I was so happy for that family. And his son looked up to his dad as Batman. Excellent movie.

Captain Raymond's friend at the end was a treat for a movie I didn't think was going to a good investment of my time. Well done.👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿

After watching this movie, this guy is a hero in every respect. WE back home can NEVER know what any military person did in that war. Rarely do you hear about the NAVY SEALS back home. I truly HONOR 🎖 and RESPECT their service for the safety of our lives in America!!! Thank you!!!

Great movie! Grandpa from WWI, uncle Gunny, Korea, alcoholism took him, cousin Skins, Vietnam, agent Orange took him, Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews still serve. Much respect to all our true Patriots!

Nice movie, I totally understand the stress these guys are under. My lighter husband was one of them and on the end we lost him. But it’s only once we lost him that we truly be going to understand the tremendous amount of stress and how they went through fighting in the war. Unfortunately the war never stops, there’s always people bully other people in the line of fire, never regarding what they truly going through. It’s completely saddens me to know where we moving to and what we are doing to so many people. It’s only now that I realise how I could’ve been able to help my late husband so seeing these movies that talks about what they’re going through. To every woman out there was a man in service, be sensitive to their lives, speak open me and never give up on them. Don’t stand back, or give up but , Back the them up and build them they need us. And do this for them as good as you can! ❤❤❤❤ We can all breakthrough, but most important of it all is to remember we Need God almighty to achieve any success in these cases. Both of my brothers returned home from tours of duty completely changed men--drug addicts and alcoholics. It takes an army of loving, caring and deeply committed family/ people to help them find themselves again and re-adjust to civilian life. God bless all of our veterans.

Agreed with you until you compared Seals with Aussie SAS......Unfortunately the Aussie military are the laughing stock of the military world. Aussie SAS is equivalent to maybe British Para's......one step up from cannon fodder. To even compare American seals with the British SAS is blasphemous and so far apart indeed. It's fact - do some research.

I remember when I was in Jr High, my dad took Sunday naps. He often had bad dreams. I tried to gently wake him. He awoke in a stir grabbing my arm. SCARED THE PEE OUTOF ME! Thankfully he recovered quickly, and no harm done. He said please ever do that again. He never talked about the WWII. At his funeral the pastor said why-things that bad did not need to remembered.

I watched this movie, based on its synopsis. I was optimistic in watching the movie. Despite its Directorial flaws. It was a good movie. I support, everything relating to our servicemen n Woman, best i can. Especially, the "special Forces community". The cost of our peaceful lives, is their "post trauma ".They deserve more attention/appreciation. Much more.

To all service men and women, thank you for freedom, for it is not free.🙏🏻 to those lost in the middle east, you will always be remembered in honor and bravery 🙏🏻, for those left behind by this administration, you are not forgotten 😪

I enjoyed the movie, many military men and women go through so much serving our country. They make ultimate sacrifice as well as there families but there family suffer much more. My hat and my heart go out to them, they are truly heroes. I’m glad the husband made a decision to stay home and try to make it work with his family. 👍🏽💪🏾🙏🏾🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸😊

Always liked Matthew's acting since I've seen him in a couple movies over the years. I also follow him on twitter for his political opinions on things and his defense of liberty and respect for those of us that have served here in the US. I've never watched this film until now, thanks for sharing, was a good watch.

The Marine was a good one.

25 years in the Marines. I so get this movie. It got better as it went along

I've said it before and I'll say it again , civilians go through a tradition period to become soldiers / warriors. These same people need a transition time to decompress and to adjust to civilian life again ! With love and honor 🎖 🥇I thank all who serve for your sacrifice 🙏

It will be 1 year since I lost my Brother In law on 1/9/22. He was a Vietnam Veteran 3 tours there 1 in Germany. He was a ARMY LRRP . I miss Him as does my Sister. I used to work with Him in Security and as a Bouncer. I was just a kid when they were married. GOD Bless our Veterans

I am that man… Great movie! A lot of us served with little to no help as a civilian. The greatest war for any veteran is trying to transition to a civilian.

The Military really needs to start doing a lot more to teach spouses how to talk to and support vets who return from a war zone. This wife says that she talked and talked to him. The problem is that if your not saying the right things or using the right phrases he probably wasn't hearing anything. War does strange things to people that most spouses just can't comprehend. They expect the same person they married to return, and when they're not they revert to using the same language they used before they left. I'm sorry but 9 times out of 10 that will more than likely make the problem worse. Then they leave. Thats when things can really start to go downhill for all involved. Without support and knowledge this problem will never be solved.

The end justified the means in the case of this lady, who finally got it that action speaks louder than words. She saved his life. How awesome was that. Still, the nature of women is to try to reason through dialogue. Then.... action when push comes to shove.

I personally enjoy the honesty of this film no matter how loosely the real world is portrayed in it.

I loved this movie! Our military men and women need time to adjust to civilian life before being thrown right back into it.

It is ordinary but very charming , and it left me with a very good feeling after more than an hour of watching. Thumb up for this film.

Agreed. Overall, a 5 STAR offering. I really enjoyed the movie. And the LEAD ACTOR is the Real Deal. Great character development. 👏 👏👏

First time I've ever commented on a film here. That was sooo good! What a brilliant film! Well done to Matthew Marsden and all involved in this.

My Dad, my 2 brothers and I all served Army. Me, with a NATO location during Vietnam. A couple months ago, some military guy was trying to resign up old vets. I told him my family's military history, volunteering. He replied, thank you. The end. Great movie with no computerized special effects.

The actor at the end of the show playing Gregory Halpin has one of the great voices of Hollywood.

My father also served and died in active duty, friendly fire no fault of their own, I can not reveal the findings. He did a heroes job at it. it was because of him that more did not die that day. I am very proud of him and of the men and women that served and are active right now. WE AS AMERICANS SHOULD SUPPORT OUR PEOPLE OUR MILITARY IS made out of all of our families, and regardless of the corruption in our gov. We need to continue the good fight, to support them 100% in what they do to keep us from other countries who would kill us enslave us and take away this great country of ours. We need to respect them for their bravery and courage, their dedication and their brotherly dependence on each other while they defend our nation, our republic, and our way of life, we are the ones who should serve them and provide as much support and help when they come home to show our appreciation for their dedication, and their love for us and our country. As you were soldiers. urraa!

I understand how this man feels. It’s all down hill when you come home.

I feel a lot of pride for the veterans of our country, they deserve respect and admiration

I have so much respect for our men and women who served saw battle.. their lives will never be the same. They’ve trained to kill, they’re are enemies all around and it’s hard to turn that off and adjust to civilian life.

A slow burner, but a good story and very well acted. No crazy gunfights or big stunts, very realistic. Thanks guys!

Often ,this sort of Drama is put together to send a message to those who may returned home from some time away in a conflict some where. Lots of WW2 movies were similar to this . As a PTSD sufferer I relate to how the main character finds life ,and subtle messages in the movie about the treatment of US veterans ,especially in the past 2 years probably reached home to whom it was directed. But what is happening now with the 'war' being uplifted from Afghanistan to Eastern Europe by Milley and his minions is simply going to increase the numbers of returned service people with damaged psyche and during the whole time is continues the 1% will profit handsomely .

This was excellent. Acting, sets, cinematography, story. Nice work!

A film that gives honor to USA Veterans and show that they are trained to protect specially at home. This story line is right on with family and Navy Seal having total control of his skills. But the shocker is how strong his wife and Son are. They helped bring the Navy Seal civilian life without him losing his strengrh. I give it 10 Stars

I am plugged into the veteran community, though I never served. Some of the combat vets and special forces warriors I know, need our prayer as they battle for the home front, trying to find some way back from the unimaginable horrors of war.

Our soldiers need to be treated better. They are the top of the , they come home and treated like dirt. I love the USA and thank every soldier who has kept our country safe!!!! Let's Go Brandon!!!!!

Back on Roman Legion times after a war they'd kill every tenth man and send the rest off to guarded villages in isolation from the general population, not much has changed in the last two plus centuries has it.

@@chrismana1292 All of our wounded (wether physically or mentally) brothers need more than kind hearts. They need jobs, free counseling (family, marriage, drug) and a place to live that they can afford. They all need love, patience, forgiveness and a helping hand.

Actually a good movie. My father's father and my mother's father both fought to defend Finland against the Soviets in the Second World War. Due to men like them I was born to freedom. I salute all veterans. ❤

I am ex army , but there is one thing I learnt, and that is . Nobody wins in war . The returning soldiers come home damaged , and never really find any peace ever again .
